Dota 6.60 - Opinions from leaguers
Posted by The DS Prince on July 3rd, 2009 | Visited 6097 times, 1 so far todayIn this article, opinions from leaguers were collected about 6.60. Read it for yourself and see why I said it is the Tauren Chieftain’s map.
I do not know what will happen in 6.61 the next incarnation, but being very concerned with “league balance” the frog will definitely not lie low and see that his pet is snubbed because it’s too powerful or something. Either a nerf or some sort of “rebalance” option will be on the tables to please the leaguers. You will see this very soon.
My way of predicting what will happen in the next versions or so varies (it’s a trade secret
), but one of the ways is to check feedback from the leaguers. Fresh players of Dota will be surprised at this post - even leaguers can complain about imbalance. I can expect some eggs thrown my way, but seriously they are not as perfect or supertypical as many Dota fans make them out to be. TC is imbalanced? Oh come on, nothing is impossible for the Dota gods
As a final remark, if you want to win games in the immediate and similar versions beyond 6.60, I suggest you should figure out the following:
- How can I incorporate Force Staff into future item builds? What sort of combos can I derive from its use?
- How can I make sure the buffed DPS heroes like Viper, Razor, Mortred, etc. be able to dish out damage without dying to spells or stuns?
- How do I get them to overcome stun/blink heroes? I don’t want them to escape just because they can stun me. I don’t want them to surprise me with Blink Dagger.
- Should item builds for certain heroes be evaluated? Which heroes should they be?
The fellow who can actually figure out a lineup that satisfies all 4 above will most likely be the next King of Dota. We had the kings of Virtus Pro in 6.48b, MYM in 6.52 and KS.int in 6.59. In 6.60 who will this King be? I’m leaving this as an open question, because frankly there can be a multitude of answers, or no answers at all - in which the frog will provide the answer by yet another map incarnation.
Also I don’t know the answers and I’m lazy. So don’t ask me

SK>mym in 52e imo, at first anyway and since we are talking about figuring out what the map is all about, that is more relevant imo
anyway, FS doesnt actually need to be incorporated into new builds, it should just be bought by everyone! lol, but still, everyone relevant anyway

SK owned at 52…MYM just got 4th place…EG and TeG got higher than MYM…And the King of 6.61…TLT in my opinion

“How can I incorporate Force Staff into future item builds? What sort of combos can I derive from its use?” rupture works well with this… “for me” rupture and push him towards you… and most people buy portal to counter bloodseeker, so when they are trying to escape by teleporting you can use force staff…

force staff does not stop channeling. so even if you’re tping and someone uses force staff on you, it does not interrupt the tp

What Loco said. MYM is kinda like the Spurs—-they were the most consistent team ever.
Yes, they weren’t the kings of certain maps but they were their hunters waiting for them to fall.

i agree with Loco. mym is fagot for putting forth their team in the “best dota player awards”. we all know SK is the king of .52
IMO, we will see more -lm type actions due to the greatness of the QB on carries, pipe on tanks and supports, and force staff on gankers
whatever happens the next stable stage, i anticipate a more balanced tactic on farm-gank, wit heroes who are able to farm safely being the key heroes for victory, granted, the average length of games remain as they were in 6.59

dota allstars 6.60 map realy sucks!!!

SK > MYM! :p Not really a fanboy, but just stating what I thought is a more fair analysis.
I’m really seeing great improvements from teams like EG, Ravens, Apteka and TeG (esp TeG). TeG really owned in the F4F finals. Using heroes like DK and Alche to win was just amazing.
Ks.Int is slightly falling… Hopefully they can pick themselves up again soon. TLT is a sure candidate as well.
What i’m saying is, this next generation of DotA should bring out the best in these teams. I can’t wait for a more competitive scene to come out soon. I’m very excited!

yeah, kuroky and puppey doesnt seem to adjust well to the new environment compared to ravens

Yeh… But Ks.Int won the EoT (End of Time) IDEC, so I wudn’t count them out just yet.

they lost to TeG
WHAT IS WRONG WITH H4nni?

Hey caspian, you should update your DotA blog some more.

Ks.int lost to TeG ftw…They weren’t able to defeat the strength-hero carry strategy (alchemist, Kunkka, Slardar) of TeG. But EG defeated them easily with Fear’s Nai’x. Getting Radiance, Assault Ciruass, Armlet of Mordiggian and BoT at the 40 min mark is a nightmare for ppasarel and LyoN
