Gambling

I know this story or stories are not new to all gamers or frequent players in a particular internet cafes.

I was playing in a computer shop I usually hang out. Then around noon time, there were a couple of guys came in and asked everyone of us if we are willing to play DotA with them for cash. In short, gamble with them. But unfortunately, there were no available seat for them to play. Then later at the same day, another group of guys just barged in and asked the owner if they are playing for cash. They did not specify the game they want to play so the owner talked back to them and this is how it went.

Guy: Ate nakikipagpustahan kayo? (Do you allow betting here?)
Owner: Pustahan? Anong laro, patintero o piko? (Betting? For what, patintero or piko [sarcastically])
Guy: Ate nagtatanong lang naman po ng maayos e. Oo ba o hindi? (We asked you nicely. Yes or no?)
Owner: Eh hindi naman namin alam kung ano laro ninyo eh. (I dunno what game you’re talking about.)
Guy: (talking to his friends) Hanap na nga lang tayo ng iba. (Let’s go somewhere else.)

And everyone just laughed out loud and they just went out of the shop frustrated and seems like in search for another shop to barge in.

Rant:

I am not saying that these guys should stop gambling and I am not against gambling because I too did it once.

But seriously, do some guys really have to go shop hopping and hoping to play with others for cash? I mean, they do it regularly like it is their only way of living.

If they are gambling against shop players, why would they set the rules? Doesn’t it make the game one-sided and getting a win-win situation?

And whenever they win, they leave the cafe with smiles on their faces and as if nothing happened. And if they lose, they usually ask for a rematch and revises the rules for a better chance of winning.

well i used to hustle when my team is still intact but since we are all married we no longer do it… well it’s not always about the money that you gamble in this type of game it’s just a bunos… i for one really improved my skills by hustling… i believe that only competent players who believe that their skills are pro level or those with to much money to burn are the ones confident enough to challenge other players to a bet….

well i think its up to players but for me real hustlers will use their crapiest line ups and will loose but will ask for a rematch with bigger bucks and will definitely use their best line up and will beat you’re team to pulp, well atleast that’s the way we do it…

as for going shop to shop its the only way to find a a team to bet with we even experienced going to other provinces to find better teams to play with… i think if its the gambling problem its because of the shops i know many shops that tolerate gambling, just try and going in those shops frequented by rich players and you’ll be amazed how high bets in places like this can go…

well my teamm8’s still play for cash once in a while if the owner of the shop we used to frequent calls us if there such type of gamers goin’ into his shop but to make a living out of DOTA or other LAN games through gambling i think not… why do you think did i find a more decent and stable job…

if its your way to improve skillsdo it but be sure you’re losing your own money, adn if your against it better ask the owner its up to their policy….

    Gambling on gaming?
This would be a big shit….
Then u would not play for fun, it wud become hardcore seriuosness and concentration only over victory. However they achieve it.
Ud hardly see anyone using pitlord or krobelus in such games later.
And very frequently FV, Motred, Troll etc.

It will ofcourse be fun between frends, but not with unknown players.

Those are my thoughts. Don’t mind. Thnx
