July 11 – 13, 2008, Mineski conquered 7 other Philippine finalists. On August 1 – 10, 2008 their mettle will be tested as they fight not just as Team Mineski, but as Team Philippines.
Founded on 2005, Mineski has finally achieved their goal of representing the Philippine flag. Whilst they are now on their second year as the Team Philippines in the online G Arena Asian DotA Championship series, it is Mineski’s first time to represent the Philippines in the Asian Cyber Games.
Original members Ronald Robinson “Roro” Robins and Kendrick Boris “Khen” Que Sy together with Jose “Bong” Silva Jr. considered as the best DotA player in the Philippines, and young gamers Rhymel “Meme” Olete and John Rovic “Yukz” Perez of Davao are set to fly to Singapore by next week. They have defeated two-time Philippine representative Flow in the finals of the Philippine preliminaries.
Years of practice, strategy-making, and team-building has finally born fruits for Mineski, who for years, have been a dominant figure in the tournament circuit but has never quite reached the ACG Finals. Within the last year, Mineski fortified their line up, dominated online and offline tournaments, and gave a strong performance in the ADC, making them this year’s top seed team for the ACG Philippine Preliminaries. And they did not disappoint.
Will they continue their strong showing in Singapore? We all hope so.
GLHF Team Mineski!
