Kadayawan Electronic Entertainment: Davao Cyber Games DoTA Tournament Brackets
Posted by polar on August 2nd, 2007 | Visited 488 times, 1 so far todayLast night, registrations to join the Kadayawan Electronic Entertainment: Davao Cyber Games DoTA Tournament closed. It was time to determine which teams will battle it out to be declared as this season’s best DoTA Team. 20 teams declared their intention to join. This, undeniably put us organizers in a quandary as to how we can balance out these teams and ensure an exciting tournament.
To solve the dilemma, we examined the team rosters and ranked the Top 8 teams based on their performance during the Davao Cyber Expo 2007: Davao Cyber Games DoTA Tournament DCE 07: DCG. To make things complicated, some teams broke up, and new alliances were formed. As a result, some teams were ranked higher or lower than their former team’s actual rank during the DCE 07: DCG.
The ranking of the Top Eight Teams and the reasons for such ranking are as follows:
Rank #1 TC Clan of Tagum - Bracket A leader
Due to the break-up of the NoMets Team, the runner-up TC Clan was ranked as number 1. TC Clan has maintained their roster of players led by TcMG Pelobello, with Tds Morata, Jason Bello, Flenn Moreno, Bruce Lee, and new sixth man Harold Gella.
Rank #2 50ph of Jimber’s Cafe - Bracket E leader
Like TC Clan, 50ph has maintained their roster of players. 50ph was ranked #2 because they reached the semifinals of DCE 07: DCG. 50 ph is led by Joker Gavarra. The 50ph members are Tintin Lejano, Kieter Tesoro, Ian Salyh, Totzkie de Castro, and Batusai Bajado.
Rank #3 CORPOration of BoyzTrek - Bracket G leader
CORPOration is a new team but ranked at number 3 because they have majority of the NoMets members: Jay Arabia, Rioren Padama, and Jeztah Ching. Moreover, Duke Dalumpines was a member of DC Clan which reached the DCE 07: DCG Semifinals. CORPO’s Chian Coronel (formerly of Blinque-Tech) and Badz Bajado (formerly of Sick) also participated in the DCE 07: DCG Eliminations at the NCCC Mall.
Rank #4 Random of Sequel Sta. Ana - Bracket C leader
Team Random is composed of Awem Dy, Zai Densing, Magskie Magno, and Seki Yee. All four were members of STQ2 that reached the DCE 07: DCG semifinals. They are now joined by their new members, Marc Ilisan (formerly of STQ3) and Alfredo Tan.
Rank #5 Chill of BoyzTrek - Bracket D leader
Team Chill is composed of two members from NoMets: Yuki Perez and Burnz Flores. They have teamed with former DC Clan members: Bhoymax aka Tassadar Julakit, Franco Villaroman, and Top Lopez.
Rank #6 X2 of Jimbers’ and Sequel Duterte - Bracket H leader
X2, led by LordRust Aguilar, is another team that reached the DCE 07: DCG quarterfinals. They have maintained their team roster which is composed of Jan Go, Maynard Anayatin, Jomark Asuncion, Jorhally Edzraphil, and new member Paul Pitoy.
Rank #7 Bytes aka Let’s Go Bords of Hyper Bits and Bytes Jacinto - Bracket F leader
Team Bytes is another team that participated in the DCE 07: DCG Eliminations in NCCC. The team roster has slightly changed but its is essentially the same team. Bytes is led by Ben Carabuena, with members Prince Pontreras, AngelFire Presto, Babzkie Ibabao, Mark Minguito, and Dave Melencion.
Rank #8 No Name of Jimber’s / Sequel Duterte - Bracket B leader
Team No Name is a hybrid of two DCE 07: DCG teams that played in the NCCC Mall. The team is composed of former 51ph members: Brozzy Azucena, Jaffet Dy, and Brian Asis. They are joined by former Team Ria Jose members: Jay Bajao and Karl Alonzo. Their sixth man is new member Ivan Young.
The rest of the teams were bracketed randomly through the drawing of lots. After eight teams were raffled into the eight brackets, the remaining four unclassified teams were raffled into four random brackets. The two unranked teams in these brackets will have to play against each other. The winner between the two unranked teams will then play against their bracket leader.
