Netopia hates DotA players
Posted by Orochi on May 21st, 2008 | Visited 3586 times, 4 so far todayMy friends(who are ironically, Netopia EGI Taft regulars as well) and I were having a YM conference when w00t sent me a photo that his friend took. Apparently, SM Southmall’s Netopia branch doesn’t think very highly of the DotA players in their area. Was it because of the barbarian-like noises we tend to make when playing intense games? The loud trash talking that often leads to fights? Or the general unruliness of the average DotA player?
In any case, they came up with the perfect solution for their dilemma. By charging “DotA Players” 900php/hr! That’s roughly $21 for an hour of DotA! Lovely, isn’t it?

might not be a typo at all. i wager they meant P15 for an hour of play, and they charge by the minute, i.e., P15 ÷ 60 minutes = .25 per minute. Or P15 for the first hour, and .25 per minute after that. or whatev other permutation you might think of. and no, I dont run a LAN shop, in case you wanted to ask that.

LOL in Nz it costs 10 dollars for 5 hours, and yes, even though my net cafe (Netcafix) has alot more than just dota playeers, im sure they can put up with the noise, Haha. Were always shouting and yelling, even when we take a break and play CS. The owner finds it funny i think, lots of little white and black boys yelling at each other.

What Jeff says — I think it’s supposed to be P15 an hour. And if you’re trying to be sarcastic, I don’t think a lot of people caught the sarcasm. :/
And I don’t think they hate people who play DotA — it’s the one game that keeps their pockets deep.

They forgot to place “/hr” after P15. It should have been P15/hr, per minute charging.
Maybe prince Arthas’ face caused the problem here, he he he.

bobo lang ang gumawa ng ad. naka2log ata habang ginagawa. haha. we are a special “people” arent we. P15 per minute charging. at 1st glance it sounds dat way (900/hr), but it makes sense, 15p/hr ata yan.

if they would advertise for dota players not to play dota in their shop, it would make more sense putting P900/hour in the ad. whoever posted this doesnt even use his brain, such a waste. 15 pesos per hour is the charge, get it. per minute charging doesnt mean 15 pesos per minute. what it means is, you pay P0.25 per minute. If you finish the game at 1.5 hours, you dont pay P30, instead you pay P22.5. damn, such stupidity.
