Counterstrike
DC Clan arrived early and won via default over Saging Lang Ang May Puso to get the twice to beat advantage in the Finals Round. Saging Lang Ang May Puso lost a close fight with Losers’ Bracket winner Bratz.X02. In the finals, DC Clan easily won in one match over Bratz.X02.

The famed DC Clan, composed of leader Timothy Zachary “Shaggy” Te, Arnold John Reyes, Alvin Sinco, Eric John Villasor, and Tristan James Aquino, is finally flying to Manila to represent Davao in a Counterstrike Tournament. DC Clan has been the top CS team in Davao City and one of the most popular in Mindanao. They have won numerous local tournaments and was the Mindanao representative to the WCG three years ago. The Shaggy - Duke tandem is already considered a legend in the gaming scene here. Unfortunately, Duke has decided to prioritize DotA for this tournament. Nonetheless, his mere presence in the gaming arena gave DC Clan a much needed confidence boost. Along with the cash prize, the team is going to the finals in SM Marikina on September together with team Bratz.X02 to represent Davao City.
Bratz.X02 is led by Peter Benjamin Hernandez with members Bruce Kevin Zamora, Jimlord Pelinio, Ryan Bromo, and Marvy Lezly Gajo. Third placer Saging lang ang may Puso is composed of leader Angelo Reyes, Tiwi Sinsuat, Esmael Balabaran, Ricky, andAdi Santos.

Match 1
The first match of the day was between rivals Bratz.Pro and Team Fukinkou (FK, managed by Ria Jose). While Bratz.Pro tried to overwhelm FK with a power line up, FK’s skills and tournament experience overwhelmed Bratz.Pro.

Line up:
Bratz.Pro (Scourge, first ban and pick)
Bans - Nerubian Assassin, Omniknight, Spectre
Picks - Queen of Pain, Zeus, Lion, Pitlord, Broodmother
FK (Sentinel, toss coin winner, second ban and pick)
Bans - Tinker, Dragon Knight, Earthshaker
Picks - Skeleton King, Leviathan, Shadow Fiend, Puck, Medusa
Match 2
The top seed Davao team Nomets faced Bratz.Pro in a lopsided game that had Nomets dominating over Bratz.Pro from start to finish.

Line up:
Nomets (Scourge, first ban and pick)
Bans - Omniknight, Earthshaker, Tinker
Picks - Tidehunter, Puck, Beastmaster, Shadow Fiend, Priestess of the Moon
Bratz.Pro (Sentinel, second ban and pick)
Bans - Nerubian Assassin, Broodmother, Leoric
Picks - Dragon Knight, Lion, Zeus, Treant Protector, Ogre Magi
Match 3
Having won their respective matches against Bratz.Pro, Team FK faced Nomets in the final match of the day. While FK has been steadily improving and has shown grit and poise throughout the tournament, Nomets was clearly the better team with better skills, flawless teamwork, and much more experience.

Line up:
Nomets (Sentinel, first ban and pick)
Bans - Earthshaker, Omniknight, Broodmother
Picks - Skeleton King, Queen of Pain, Warlock, Zeus, Terrorblade
FK (Scourge, toss coin winner, second ban and pick)
Bans - Leviathan, Meepo, Nerubian Assassin
Picks - Shadow Fiend, Dragon Knight, Puck, Pitlord, Sand King
At the end of the day, Jay Nolvic Arabia, Bernard Dale Flores, Neil Bryan Padilla, Paul John Limlao, and Franco Villaroman of Nomets proved worthy of being the team to be fear and beat in Mindanao. Together with Team FK, Nomets will be returning to Manila to represent Davao in the finals of WGT at SM Marikina on October 25 and 26, 2008.
Team FK is composed of Hussien Ibrahim, Duke Dalumpines, Karl Marx Villanueva, Wex Corrales, Rey Campañer, and tactician Christian Lorenzo Coronel.
It was indeed a successful tournament sailed smoothly and with haste. It couldn’t have been successful without the organizers from Asus led by Angeline Coo, and her colleagues Marvin and Bong. The event was also graced by Asus Southeast Asia Marketing Manager Leon Yu who flew in from Taiwan. In behalf of the gamers in Davao City, we would like to wholeheartedly thank Asus, and sponsors Intel, Microsoft, and Digital Interface.
We would also like to acknowledge the marshalls Ai Villanueva, Jug Pitoy, Angel Boy, Goo, Roger Ian Legaspi, Louie Narshall, Alfred, and Ivan Young. Thank you very much!
Again, congratulations to the winners, and GLHF in the finals!!!
