Vicious - The Bloodhound
Posted: Sat Feb 23, 2008 7:45 pmVicious – The Bloodhound
Range: Melee / Move speed: 320
Primary: Agility
Str: 19 + 2.2
Agi: 21 + 2.6
Int: 15 + 1.5
HP: 511 / HP Regen: 0.76
Mana: 195 / Mana Regen: 0.63
Damage: 43 - 54 / Attack Speed: 1.42
Armor: 3
Vicious was a bloodhound used as a lab experiment by Vol’jin that failed. Dissatisfied, Vol’jin throws him out of his lair. However, the witch doctor’s expirement was not a real failure; in fact, his destructive nature was just waiting to surface. The taste of blood awakens the murderous intentions inside him. With just a taste of their blood, Vicious can familiarize himself with his preys. Vicious has been known to obsess over his preys, so consumed that no magic known to ancient earth could stop him from causing death. Vicious lays dormant in the undead forest at the outskirts of the Scourge’s fortress, awaiting his next meal. Lurking in the dark, waiting for the chance to bury his fangs.
Hostile: Active
When bloodhounds show hostility, they usually creep slowly on a target, waiting, and then finally attempts to strike. Vicious reduces his move speed for a short period to gather his strength, then bursts at high speed for the next several seconds, gains amplified damage on initial attack.
Level 1: Slows down by 10% for 2 seconds, then gains 10% move speed for 8 seconds. Initial attack deals 150% damage.
Level 2: Slows down by 20% for 2 seconds, then gains 20% move speed for 8 seconds. Initial attack deals 200% damage.
Level 3: Slows down by 30% for 2 seconds, then gains 30% move speed for 8 seconds. Initial attack deals 250% damage.
Level 4: Slows down by 40% for 2 seconds, then gains 40% move speed for 8 seconds. Initial attack deals 300% damage.
Mana Cost: 120
Cooldown: 30/27/24/21
Notes: When dogs show hostility, they usually move slowly, showing their fangs, “grrrr” before waiting to pounce on their target. This is based on that fact.
Scar: Active
Vicious leaves his mark on a target by causing a wound that will scar. He also gets to tastes the blood of his victim, heightening his senses for the next confrontation. However, the bloodhound is a sadistic, obsessed individual, and his acts are selfishly for his own satisfaction.
Level 1: Deals 60 damage, leaves a ripe wound that would eventually scar. Gains the smell of blood of the target. Can sense the marked enemy if he’s within 1000 range.
Level 2: Deals 120 damage, leaves a ripe wound that would eventually scar. Gains the smell of blood of the target. Can sense the marked enemy if he’s within 1400 range.
Level 3: Deals 180 damage, leaves a ripe wound that would eventually scar. Gains the smell of blood of the target. Can sense the marked enemy if he’s within 1800 range.
Level 4: Deals 240 damage, leaves a ripe wound that would eventually scar. Gains the smell of blood of the target. Can sense the marked enemy if he’s within 2200 range.
Mana Cost: 120
Cooldown: 21/19/17/15
Notes: The scar left will activate the obsession skill. The scar is destroyed when the enemy hero or Vicious dies. However, scar forms 30 seconds after the bite. Only then will the obsession skill work.
Obsession: Passive
The bloodhound is obsessed with his targets, in fact he’s so consumed over them that his obsession fuels his aggression when facing those scarred targets. When the marked target loses a huge fraction of his hit points, the bloodhound can already imagine the target as a free meal that should only be his, he becomes almost unstoppable.
Level 1: Gains 10% attack speed and 10 bonus damage when attacking the marked target.
When a target’s hit points drops below 20%, the bloodhound gains magic immunity.
Level 2: Gains 20% attack speed and 20 bonus damage when attacking the marked target.
When a target’s hit points drops below 25%, the bloodhound gains magic immunity.
Level 3: Gains 30% attack speed and 30 bonus damage when attacking the marked target.
When a target’s hit points drops below 30%, the bloodhound gains magic immunity.
Level 4: Gains 40% attack speed and 40 bonus damage when attacking the marked target.
When a target’s hit points drops below 35%, the bloodhound gains magic immunity.
Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: N/A
Ferocious: Passive
His fangs get sharper and longer every time he tastes blood. The enhanced fangs lasts for 7 seconds after each successful increase. However each increase cost mana.
Level 1: 3% chance to bury his fangs on a target, deals 10 damage and maims target, slowing its attack speed and move speed by 10% for 3 seconds. Chance increases by 3% more every time buries his fangs thereby also increasing damage by 3 and maim by 3%. Capped at 24% chance
Level 2: 6% chance to bury his fangs on a target, deals 20 damage and maims target, slowing its attack speed and move speed by 20% for 3 seconds. Chance increases by 6% more every time buries his fangs thereby also increasing damage by 6 and maim by 6%. Capped at 48% chance
Level 3: 9% chance to bury his fangs on a target, deals 30 damage and maims target, slowing its attack speed and move speed by 30% for 3 seconds. Chance increases by 9% more every time buries his fangs thereby also increasing damage by 9 and maim by 9%. Capped at 72% chance
Mana Cost: 20/30/40
Cooldown: N/A
Notes: This is the only slowing skill the bloodhound has, since he has no disables. Chance to bury his fangs increases after every successful bury, also increases maim and damage.
For example: When the bloodhound successfully buries his fangs on a target, at level 3 his chances increase to 18%, deals 39 damage, maims by 39%. Then next attack will be at 27% chance, deals 48 damage, maims by 48%. Then next attack will be at 36% chance to bury fangs, dealing 57 damage, maiming by 57%.
Chance at level 3 is capped at 72%, when achieved, he gains 72% chance to deal 93 damage and maims target by 72% for 3 seconds.
Although 72% slow attack speed and move speed may seem much, its an orb effect, its his only slow/disable, its only by chance, and it takes 7 successful buries to achieve 72%. Don’t say IMBA, since permabashers still stops enemies at a 100%, and even disables them.
Although I’d prefer feeback, but since this is posted on Bardman’s topic. Then I couldn’t edit this again.

@tr3ncht0wn: Why do you guys always go for a dog? the title is just a comparison. An actual Bloodhound is known to track someone to the point where they will collapse from hunger. A Bloodhound as in what Bard Man gave you is more or less a Bounty Hunter with REALLY good tracking skills.
Aside from that, you made a really good hero, tr3nch. Yours will probably due very well in the poll. Hmm. Bard Man may give you guys his version of a Bloodhound later today. It may clear up the canine confusion.
P.S.: Bard Man did forget to mention this. You aren't allowed to edit your heores after they've been submitted. If you do, you're disqualified. Bard Man should have brought that up earlier.

i CBF entering this but heres just some general guidelines for what I would do and what IMO needs to be done to make a blood hound hero.
a tracking skill.
good MS, or spell which gives good MS.
a good disable which largish cooldown.
thats my 2 cents

shim has just pointed out that stamina is very very similar to lycans passive.
in actuality it was a nerfed version of naix's old frenzy.

@Ghost:Goodwork. Bard Man is very pleased with this one. It fits perfectly with the specifications Bard Man set for you.
@tr3ncht0wn Bard Man would, but he doesn't have the extra cash to buy new D&D books regularly.

Mleth - The Bloodhound
Range: 550 | Move Speed: 305
Primary: Agi
Str: 18 + 2.0 | Agi: 22 + 2.9 | Int: 18 + 1.6
Damage: 51 – 57 | HP: 492 | Mana: 234
HP Regen: 0.79 | Mana Regen: 0.73
Attack Speed: 1.28 | Armor: 3
Mleth was involved in an accident when he was young, where his parents were held up by two homeless bandits trying to get money enough for food to live. Survival was limited during this time, so this often occured. Unfortunately, neither of Mleth's parents had money to give, nor food to supply, so in an act of spite, the bandits slew his mother and father right before them and made their escape. His fathers blood had been spilt on the bandits hands and by sheer following of the scent of his elders blood he was capable of finding the two homeless asleep in a cavern where he crushed their skulls with a rock. He has ever since developed an apptitude for tracking targets by blood, thus earning him his mercenary title of Bloodhound.
BAH! Revenge story, meh...
Focused Shots
Mleths shots are fired with such focus that they can sometimes deal hightened damage and draw blood.
Rank 1 : 11% chance of dealing 1.35x damage and causing target to bleed for 5 dps over 8 seconds.
Rank 2 : 14% chance of dealing 1.5x damage and causing target to bleed for 10 dps over 8 seconds.
Rank 3 : 17% chance of dealing 1.65x damage and causing target to bleed for 15 dps over 8 seconds.
Rank 4 : 20% chance of dealing 1.8x damage and causing target to bleed for 20 dps over 8 seconds.
Bleeding deals pure damage and cannot stack, but refreshes the duration upon occuring again, kinda like picking scabs with bullets.
Critical Defenses (C)
When a Bloodhound is focused on a target he can heighten his defensive abilities, everlasting as he kills his target more.
Rank 1 : Receive only 85% damage, the other 15% is redirected to the source. Lasts 5 seconds. This skill will refresh each time you score a critical hit.

Mana Cost : 100
Cooldown : 19/18/17/16
Your focused shots count as a critical, so this can be a major dps boost to someone who wishes to engage you, or can make creeping easier.
Blood Fugue
A bloodhound will enter a state of transcendence ignoring material assult upon the sight of a targets blood.
Rank 1 : Passivley increases Movement speed by 4%. If you cause a target to bleed you gain an aditional 4% movement speed and you have a 25% chance to ignore stuns and slows.
Rank 2 : Passivley increases Movement speed by 6%. If you cause a target to bleed you gain an aditional 8% movement speed and you have a 30% chance to ignore stuns and slows.
Rank 3 : Passivley increases Movement speed by 8%. If you cause a target to bleed you gain an aditional 16% movement speed and you have a 35% chance to ignore stuns and slows.

Only works if the target is within 800 range or in sight, whichever one applies, if you don't suck maybe both of them apply, omfg.

Mleth places his calling card on his kill target, thus marking them for death. Lasts 14 seconds.
Rank 1 : Gives truesight on target. Also each succesive attack increases your chance of Focused Shots by 1%, they damage variable of critical defenses by 2%, and armor penetration by 2.
Rank 2 : Gives truesight on target. Also each succesive attack increases your chance of Focused Shots by 2%, they damage variable of critical defenses by 3%, and armor penetration by 3.
Rank 3 : Gives truesight on target. Also each succesive attack increases your chance of Focused Shots by 4%, they damage variable of critical defenses by 6%, and armor penetration by 4.
