Posted: Sun Feb 24, 2008 1:58 pmKelen, the possesor of the mighty keyblade, combines the blade with the sheer cold he contains. Kelen is an ice spirit, said to have lived in the invulnerable places of the north. With his frosty keyblade, his priceless lock and his chains, he is unstoppable. Originating from the lands of the snow, Kelen discovered an orb, dug up deep under the glacier. When obtained, all enemies attacking will receive a blizzard.
Framework: Kelen holds a cyan keyblade with cool dark armor for the upper half of his body. The lower half of his body is an Icy spirit. Here's the model. (unequipped with a weapon.)
Kelen - The Icy Key
Primary: INT
Range: 125 (melee) | Armor: 1
STR: 14 + 1.3 | AGI: 13 + 1.4 | INT: 33 + 2.7
HP: 416 | Regeneration: 0.7
MP: 429 | Regeneration: 1.1
Damage: 52 - 60 | Movement speed: 290
A basically strength typed hero relying on heavy mana. As many would say, "Diesel Tank".
Key Thrust (E)
Kelen revales his powerful keyblade and strikes through all the opponents bakcwards, dealing damage. The impact on the enemies take so much damage, they get stunned for a small amount of time. If spell activated, Kelen will blink backwards and damage.
Level 1 - 135 damage dealt to all enemies in Kelen's path, stunning them for 0.3 seconds. Kelen goes 300 AoE backwards.
Level 2 - 170 damage dealt to all enemies in Kelen's path, stunning them for 0.6 seconds. Kelen goes 450 AoE backwards.
Level 3 - 225 damage dealt to all enemies in Kelen's path, stunning them for 0.9 seconds. Kelen goes 600 AoE backwards.
Level 4 - 270 damage dealt to all enemies in Kelen's path, stunning them for 1.2 seconds. Kelen goes 750 AoE backwards.
Mana Cost: 170
Cooldown: 18
Framework: Kelen blinks backwards, creating a blue glow following after him.
Ice Lock (C)
Kelen does not only possess a keyblade, but he also obtains a large lock. He can lock up the opponent, disabling him to use some of his abilities.
Level 1 - Kelen locks the opponent, causing them to slow down by 10% for 5 seconds, disabling the hero to use any active skills. (Passive can still be used...)
Level 2 - Kelen locks the opponent, causing them to slow down by 20% for 7 seconds, disabling the hero to use any active skills. (Passive can still be used...)
Level 3 - Kelen locks the opponent, causing them to slow down by 30% for 9 seconds, disabling the hero to use any active skills. (Passive can still be used...)
Level 4 - Kelen locks the opponent, causing them to slow down by 40% for 12 seconds, disabling the hero to use any active skills. (Passive can still be used...)
Note: This spell can be ended prematurely if used a Key Thrust while the enemy is locked. The Key Thrust will not blink backwards, only damaging the enemy for 200/300/400. After damage dealt, the lock will be unlocked and will be ended prematurely.

Cooldown: 30
Frost Chains (F)
The icy spirit contains a chain, revolving around Kelen, giving him protection from melee and magic.
Level 1 - Added 2 armor, 5% less damage from spells and damage over time.
Level 2 - Added 3 armor, 10% less damage from spells and damage over time.
Level 3 - Added 3 armor, 15% less damage from spells and damage over time.
Level 4 - Added 4 armor, 20% less damage from spells and damage over time.
Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: N/A
Passive
Absorb (O)
Kelen absorbs the damage taken and deals it right back to the opponent. Kelen takes 50% less damage while the spell is active and unleashes it on the enemy who dealt the most damage. Lasts for 4/6/8 seconds of absorbance.
Level 1 - Absorbs up to 500 damage and deals X0.8 damage dealt to the enemy target who did the most.
Level 2 - Absorbs up to 1500 damage and deals X1 damage dealt to the enemy target who did the most.
Level 3 - Absorbs up to 2000 damage and deals X1.2 damage dealt to the enemy target who did the most.
Mana Cost: 400/500/600
Cooldown: 75
Example Scenario: Sand King comes in and Kelen uses absorb. SK burrows and does epicenter. Kelen is only affected by 50% of the usual damage and deals it right back to SK. (Assuming that he has level 3 absorb) He deals 280+1100x1.2 = 1656 damage. This is useful because whenever you approach a very strong hero, you can nuke it right back to them.
Here are some good items to help out Kelen...
Shiva's guard
Because of Kelen's low armor (1), you can gain some armor out of this item, and plus, a some intellect which is vital.
Bloodstone
Lots of HP and Mana given, plus some regeneration. But the good thing about this item is redemption. Actually, this item wants Kelen to die because of the passive effect given. -If the bearer dies, he restores 450 HP/400 Mana to nearby allies. (stack = 40 max)
-The hero gains EXP and vision of the area where he died until he revives.
-Hero will respawn 20% faster and lose 40% less gold.
-If the item has no charges, the on-death bonus will be cut in half.
-Charges are gained/lost by killing heroes/dying.
Vladmir's Offering
This item is good because it has lifesteal for melee, and there are hardly any INT's in the game with this item, because of the melee thingymabob. Plus it gives brilliance aura and devotion aura. It's useful if you've got some killer AoE spells, and the only good AoE spell on Kelen is the repellant...
Don't get too much armor on Kelen because when activating absorb, you will deal less damage to the enemy.

U really did balance him pretty well. But shouldnt his hp be 416 (150+(14*19)) and it would be better if he were ranged being so fragile but then u would have to rework his 2 passive skills. So its up to u. Ill discuss on each skill later. Got an exam on 25 feb. Wish me luck.

Dint catch u there bandai. Explain ur post again. And dota morph just check if my heros name doesnt sound weird(Karna-Son of the Sun God). Anyone want tn know more about him can search Mahabharat-Karna on wikipedia.

Lol it took me about 10 minutes to understand you post. I thought you meant changing the passive skills and highering his hp and making range. But I'm not changing those passive skills and I'm highering the HP, balancing it...

I meant that he is weak so if he was ranged he wud perform better but ur passive skills are better for a melee hero so then u wud have to improvise. Think about it. And u still havent commented on my heroes name. Also read about him on wikipedia.

Look at my absorb skill, it provides about 50% better performance if it were melee. It's like one really powerful nuke.

I totally forgot of the name, "Kelen" that was from the dagger of escape. I thought you were reffering to him actually being effective using the dagger; but it turns out not... Meh, thanks.
I've submitted this hero and I am awaiting the approval of my hero in the Hero Ideas section. Please do not ask me if it has been approved, as it will be shown in the Home Page of DS. The hero is still pending.
By the way, Dagger of Escape will actually make this hero worse, considering the fact that he's range and doesn't want to take damage. But that will be a negative benefit for the Ultimate, Absorb, escpecially for melee heroes who are willing to "own" Kelen.
