Manta sucks on spectre.

boy, you never heard of a disabler dont you? and mana burn also adds chaos damage some 40% of total mana burned. specter is not all about chase, shes a sponge, shes also a confuser. why is she given haunt as ultimate? FIY

There are several incredibly useful facets to manta (apart from the insane damge of the images) that make it a worthwhile item.
Firstly in a team clash, it allows there to be unmitigated chaos due to the fact that there are potentially 8 (if theres a meepo, its 11 :P) speccies running around ( 5 haunts, 2 images and the real you: its like playing PL) each doing insane damage, you can stop and turn a heavy push around. Speccie doesnt need to use the manta everytime she wants to kill, its more usefule for team encounters, the purge allows you to kill easily when its still a diffusal, and finally, certain heroes without mana are worse than useless.... overall, manta is a good item for speccie.

But, i will admit S&Y is useful too, as is skadi. I have a friend who gets skadi and vlads, and pwns like a madman on crack in a barfight. But thats why we love dota, there is always moer than one to play a hero....

thats what you should feel. who cares manta is useless in chase. if they run from team battle they kinda lose anyway

@ CFX: Thats pretty much how I play her except without the EoS. Im gonna try it out to see which orb effect overrides(i'm pretty sure manta overrides). Yeah butterfly...perhaps not so good now cos of the dispersion's nerf.

Manta is not that bad,but i go for stygian desolator or satanic..Why stygian?Because the -6 armor stacks with spectre's desolate skill,dealing more chaos damage.....Or...Why lifesteal??Because with each attack done,Mercurail gains life(note:spectre has great atkspeed)and also desolate gives a great synergy with satanic

mana burn also gives chaos damage, and in terms of damage, 3 specter is way better than 1. your points are nonsense. and desolate is spell type, and , does not contribute to life steal

@amp
EoS can override mana burn/feedback in form of priority orb, which is to put it in the in higher ranked slot(top left). but mana burn is wayyyy better. clones dont have slow from EoS anyway

i'm kinda agree that manta is quite useful for spectre...
1 hero + 2 image + desolate = huge damage!!

spectre might be even harder to handle IF its equipped with Assault Cuirass(i assume that desolate isn't an orb effect...kinda forgot..hehe)...

@CFX: I couldn't agree with you more, manta not only deals more damage and stacks on illusions, it burns away the mana thus disabling the opponent's escape spells.
