the worst thing that happened to me was..
i was playing a minimum of 6hours a day, then my parents get pissed and banned me form the computer. i wasent allowed to play games on the weekdays. my friends were teasing me(though i got alot of them to join )
im getting lower marks. though my avg in school is around 90%, im getting like 85% ish now.

right now, i got a ton of stuff to do, i spent 3 hours playing dota when i should have been doing my science ISP which i havent finished yet.

and lol i got into a fight before but not related to dota. then me and some of my friends go into the internet cafe and we see them. they dont notice us and they are playing counter strike and dota. we go play counter strike and kill all of them. then we go play dota and asked them to join. we pwned them too, called them noobs and left.

hey people lets face it

dota is our life, when we are sad what do we do? when we are happy what do we do? we give up most things just play that beatyful holy IceFrog creation,
i mean, DotA is what we live for and qe shouldnt be ashemed of it

Well, the effects of DotA and computer games in general on me are:
-obesity
-wrecked my eyesight
-made me unsociable with girls
-lowered my grades

I'm surprised my bladder still hasn't given after all those hours of holding it in.

Of course, because of DotA, I have fun, and I have lots of (male) friends.

Lay of the games a little... I play computer games almost every day yet I manage to keep my figure and eyesight... maybe I'm just lucky? =/

More to add, I lose lots of sleep and wind up falling asleep in school >_>

Dota has made my life better. nothing bad happens. I'm a normal kid with a normal life and i have no obesity or addiction (to dota) problems. It just a fun thing to do for me

to those that had seriously bad effects from DotA,

man, you should go for counseling . . don't let it worsen . .

addiction, whether in drugs, smoking, or alchohol does NO GOOD at all, . .

and playing comp games is no exception, . .

Why does Dota count though its just a game right?

wrong! addiction is something that you put great interest in something to which a lot of time is devoted. Sounds familiar? have experienced forgetting anything and everything else and just play DOta? have you tried to play DOta to escape the problems of school, relationship, or family? have you forgot something important or neglected it because of Dota? does this sound like addiction or what?

if yes then you've got a problem my friend. I'm not saying that playing Dota is bad for you but that it needs control. You should be the one controlling your PC not the other way around, if you know what i mean.

Find other hobbies, like sports or girls. (wait girls? hobbies?) anyways, don't set your mind on only playing Dota when you wake up in the morning and dreaming at night!

Keep in mind that computer gaming is just a PAST TIME, . .

and keep it cool . .

your going to ruin our lives (of dota).

Nothing bad has happened to me because of dota. Maybe cause I can only play Wednesday and Saturday
(maybe Friday)

You just have to balance out your time between computer and social..I LOVE playing dota..been playing for more than 2 years now but I never let it get in way of my relationship and you have to get her to enjoy it, just like when you pretend that you enjoy watching chic flicks XD. I got my gf onto dota and although she's not hooked, she sometimes play with me and I would never play if she's there wanting to do something else..
Afterwards I might play until 6am but she's not there is she? LOL

But I did do abit worse than what I hoped in my V.C.E (that's high school graduating score for Australia) but I still managed to get into what I wanted so no harm done I guess..
