Win cool prizes and the community's admiration by joining our quest for the best DotA strategies on the face of the Internets. Any registered DS member is welcome join. Read on:

-A short introduction about the hero.
-Basic details, description, story behind.
-Stat growth, range, ms, aspd etc
-Role in the team

Skill Build
-Walkthrough of your proposed skill placement from levels 1 to 25.
-Explanations and reasons why it was placed that way.


Item Build
-Proposed items to buy.
-Basic order of buying, from early to late game.
-Alternate and other advisable items during end game.

Strategy
-Walkthrough from early, mid to late game.
-Lane control
-Harassing
-Team play and basic skill techniques
-Methods of farming/acquiring gold
-Hero killing
-Map awareness
-Ganking/escaping
-Pushing/defending
-Adapting to situations
-Micromanagement
-Skills/Techniques that are unique to the hero


PRESENTATION

Font and Graphics
- font color/s should not be painful to the eyes
- icons of skills / items
- screenshots and visual aid

Organization
- making use of table of contents
- showing organized outline and layout

Grammar
- making use of proper tenses and pronouns
- English fluency is a MUST

Additional Bonuses
- FAQs (frequently asked questions)
- counter measures
- alternative builds (hero adaptation)
- details & techniques that only an expert user could know
- adaptation and/or versatility of the hero
- advanced usage of the hero with its skills
- team play strategy (good combos)
- tips and suggestions of usage
- videos and/or animated gifs
-Replays
*Authors should provide original replays.
*The author should be the player using the specified hero.


ENTRY SUBMISSION

The author must specify in the guide's introduction that it is a contest entry for DotActics Hero Guide Contest, otherwise it will not be considered as an official entry.


example:

Title: Orochi's Azgalor
Introduction: Orochi's entry for Dota Strategy's contest. etc etc.

Deadline for submission is on: May 15, 2008

EDIT: Send Drew AND Orochi a private message stating that you've submitted an entry for the contest including the following:

*Hero's name
*Title of the Strategy.



Entries that do not meet the above requirements will not be accepted. Entries should also be original and self composition. Any form of plagiarism of any vital parts of the guide will result to disqualification and banishment of the author.

I'll just quote it agian for those who doesn't read...



Strategies for the contest will be made through the DotaStrategy.com strategy builder.

For those who doesn't know where the DS strategy builder is, on the left side of your browser, there is a "QUICKMENU" tab. Just put your cursor on top of it and a menu will pop out and click on "My Strategies" and you may begin by clicking 'Build New Individual Hero Strategy'.

Or, on the DS site menu bar (on top) click on [Home > My Strategies] and you may begin by clicking 'Build New Individual Hero Strategy'.

As for the Prizes, we will contact the winners of the contest and get some information. The shirt will be sent through mail.

Strats should be created using the strategy builder. Only NEW strats can be entered. If you have a strategy for a hero mentioned above that has not yet been approved, that does not qualify unless you remake it now on or before May 15.

As for prizes, we will *try* our best to send them out to winners in far flung places, but I'm not making any promises about that. But we'll TRY.

So... if you have already made a strategy on a certain hero, you cannot enter with the contest with the same hero, even through you changed many things with your old strategy?
