Counter items

Hi! I'm new to dota but I played some games. I have a question about what items you have to take to counter an ability hero? What about strength hero? I know for Int hero you have to buy hood of defiance. Thank you a lot.

Well, actually it depends on the hero u're using and the opposition as well. U cannot judge items like that. Gimme a named example ^^

bkb against intel items, if you have a high dps
Disable for high dps heroes
Cleaving aka battlefury for image heroes
armor reduction and amplify damage item (orchid of malevolence) for high hp heroes usualy str.

Lol there are a lot but give us an example

Anyway, a counter to heroes are also heroes, but to their skills its item..

Example: Hero w/ trageted skills can be countered by Linkens,
another, Spell reduction items can counter magic (like you said, HoD)
Vanguard for physical damages or skills
If you dont want to be skilled for 10sec, buy BKB!,

Another counter for int heroes, MANTA STYLE!, (they cant use BFury anyway.. Maybe Dark Seer and Ogre Magi only, if they're fool..),

Its good for Pit Lord..but always in twos, I believe non cleaving heroes who like to get bfuries should stick to two instead of one
but then thats just me.

Hm,, I rarely see Ishkafel using BFury, they seem to use Radiance better. Maybe if you want to use the full potential of items, you should check the ability each item gives you, and synergize it with the skills of your hero! ^^

as most of the other people said it depends on your opponent not your opponents main attribute...........give us an example and we will tell you what items Smile

Buy a bunch of ironwood branches and its gg. you will dominate everyone. haha jk. but with high damage heros.. like nevermore, drow, vengeful spirit, get buriza because then they will have really high crits.

ok thanks for your answers. Sorry I didn't answer quick. Well, We (my friends and I) play AR so we don't really know which hero will be against. But I know that if you're against an int hero whatever hero you are, you can take hood of defiance to reduce damage since your he cast spells. So I think when you are against an agility hero (I don't know all hero yet) you can take hum... vanguard to block attacks. Well I just wondered if it was worthy. By the way, what is bkb? Thanks

Your right, vanguards are a good counter for a high damage melle charactor such as centaur ect.

btu against a heavy intel nuker like leshrac just get a hood of defiance.

bkb=Black King Bar,this is also useful against int heroes with a lot of spells

and if your not familiar with ALL the heroes and items yet maybe you should stay away from -AR games and play -AP games instead
