I never said counter helix is by chance. I said it can be triggered by any attack, whether it hits or not.

on DA wiki it stats that missed attack dont trigger helix. but i m not too sure bout it.

Yes, Axe relies on his Counter Helix as the predominant source of damage, he doesn't do enough damage by just hitting... (he does more late game).

So until then, it's better to just build items which will let you survive longer while getting hit and thus letting you spin more.

This means, logical items include;

1. Vanguard and shields
2. Heart and HP up items
3. Anti disables (just general purposes, you spin even if you're stunned)
4. Melee DMG return (blademail)
5. Butterfly and evasion items (yes, it is logical, but not financially)
6. Armour Up items such as platemail etc. and Assault Cuirass

It's just being more cost-effective. Personally I'd get Butter LAST because it just doesn't provide ENOUGH justification. That's not to say butter is completely useless on him though.

take a look at any ranged hero attacking axe, the instant you declare an attack and start the attack, it decides weather or not to helix.

interestingly this is one of axe's downfalls as it acts almost like a ministun on him.

To make it short try to buy 6 butterflys with Axe and see for yourself if counter helix will trigger or not.

If you want evasion get Radiance instead. At least, Radiance gives you Immolation for creeping and damaging opponents.

What Axe needs:
-armor
-HP

why get radiance for evasion, the 8% is kinda pitiful, also its when you attack so itd be okay but better items could be bought

what? the sounds very good on axe.. wit evasion,,

175 damage is not worth on prolongs games,

you will need is lifesteal and damage items on late game..

I prefer AC more. or why dont you buy tanking item like HoT?
it will maybe bring more survivability with that regeneration and hp....

Butter is pretty good, it stacks with the evasion of counter helix. So it is avery high % evasion, a great item on axe. Much worth then Mjo on him for sure.
