anyway reputation... people hardly ever get it although i like to see one on each team when i am playing a proper game, ideally with someone who uses it well.
umm yes 1v1 it is useless but if it was say a 5v5 the reality is it is doing 35xX damage a second..thus making it worthwhile..
ALSO
with the recent DAGGER OF FAILURE nerf, radiance was indirectly buffed as it stops dagger use.
reality is only 10 or so heroes can use radiance effectively..

I do not see people going "gaga" over this item IMO it's really only useful in competetive play or in a qouick farming scenario. I really like rushing it on big hp big dmg heroes like leoric. But one has got to remeber to really RUSH it like an oldstyle clinkz with his DR aegis. A 15-25 min radience can really turn a game around.take leoric as an example again. With his extreme criticals he doesnt need an mkb he will prolly be able to hit the enemy once or twice. In that situation dmg>proc chance dmg(mkb ,burize)Imagene 20 min into the game and all except the other teams carry and possible "tank" is running around with 1k hp. Throw in another aoe and they will not be ble to stay and disable/nuke.I know most will not be able to farm that but with good teamwork it's possible.
And please if you do not like the reasons statet,correct me in a polite tone.

Radiance is a situational item and should only be taken by one hero per side. I personally love it on certain heroes like Rigwarl and Anub'seran, the humiliating death by immolation(I purposely stop attacking them when they're 100hp or less) is sooo worth it.
On the practical side, radiance is simply a raw DPS item designed for some chasers and tanks. The only hurdle you need to get past is farming for the Relic as fast as humanly possible. If you succeed in getting radiance(and some basic survivability items) before mid-game starts, congratulations. Your fun will now begin. 35dmg immolation isn't very intimidating when you think about it; but when your hp haven't reached 1k yet, you WILL feel the pain.
Scenario: Riki obtains radiance at level 11. 3 enemy heroes are pushing a lane and it's too early in the game for them to notice you enough to buy wards. You prance around them and they feel the immolation. They shrug it off thinking "Ha! 35 damage? Don't make me laugh!". 15 seconds later, their hp is now halved(or less), tiny blinks in and kills them all.
Scenario: Rigwarl gets radiance, boots and 2 bracers at level 13. 2 heroes are pushing his lane. He starts spamming quill spray. His enemies ignores the first two sprays. The next 10 however, along with Rigwarl suddenly going Sparta on them, will prove lethal. To add icing on the cake, Death by immolation.
Scenario: Leoric gets radiance at level 12. He now has a decent attack bonus, but no AIS. He eventually kills his target/s after chasing up to the second tower. With an MKB, he could have killed the target/s even before they reach their first tower. Lesson: Do not get Radiance on EVERY hero.
It's also a very good farming item. This is where a lot of people make the mistake of not getting last hits and just auto-attack. The immolation is there to soften them up, not kill them. It'll be your job to get easy last hits with your high damage.
I'm too lazy to continue..sooo, conclusion:
Radiance is a GREAT item on SOME heroes, the key word here is: SYNERGY. If it works well with your chosen hero, then by all means, go for a radiance rush. But if it doesn't, then maybe you should think of a better core item for that hero.

anyway my conclusion (again)
it is over rated, you don't need it because it is a tier 4 item, if someone else in you team could make better use of it, let them make it.
the only situation where you would get it on a non-synergising hero is if their entire team is made of people who use blink dagger

Orochi couldn't have said it better. Radiance is not great for every hero. It depends on who's using it. Just like the rikimaru scenario. I personally hate having a rikimaru running around with radiance coz sooner or later ur gonna feel that immolation. and then the next second youre dead bcoz of an avalanche

i agree with the op, radiance is really a pathetic item nobody should get in a serious game. it's just pure shit.
in fun game to humiliate people with invisi heroes, sure ... if the others team noobs let you farm 3800 with an empty inventory forever without ganking your ass ...
Seriously, this item gives nothing. Ever seen a final of tournaments match with pros where somebody gets this shit ? no, and there's a reason for that : this items gives NOTHING serious. 35 dmg/s lvl 4 item 5325 gold ? get the -bleep- out of here ...
This items is only good for noobs that believe that bnet shitty pub games farming is dota. it's called "owning noobs lagger with 50000 gold items in your inventory" that you'll never get in real games.
