Draft a Lineup!
Posted: Sun May 25, 2008 7:59 amCompare, rate, make lineups here! Let's try to make this for serious games, so meaning 5v5 -ap draft, though -xl is fine too.
Explanations and stuff are encouraged! Suggestions too etcetc.
Quick Draft:
*assuming sentinel side*
Beastmaster / THD - Top
Leoric / Slayer - Mid
Dragon Knight - Bot
Top lane is .37's old school basic lane. The dual nuke power of THD/BM ensures a good lane control. I've opted for a THD instead of something like Leshrac since THD can be put to supportfag - very important especially in 6.52b with all the Crow/Wards nerf. BM is basic choice, nothing wrong with a BM.
SK/Slayer mid, again, a basic derivation of the current trends today in laning - dual stun. I put them on mid so they can rune whore better, and my solo won't rune whore so I put DK bot.
DK bottom - I can smell DK being a top pick with all the buffs he got. DK's a helluva solo with Blood + Hood rush.
The line up revolves on DK ricing, and everyone ganks etcetc. Because of the Dagger change, obviously mass ninjas aren't as effective anymore, and again - DK will be strong in this version.
Anyone? :3

I think 6.52 is an unpredictable map. It's quite impossible to actually name a lineup that could be used over and over again, because many heroes are quite equal in power that many heroes could be filled in for a specific role whether support, damage, or tanking.
If anything I think Medusa will be more favored than Dragon Knight. We already know that she can deal damage, and tank damage at the same time, which is something Dragon Knight can do. However Purge will prove very useful in this map, something Dragon Knight does not have, and we also have to remember that the Elder Dragon Morph does not work half of the time. For good reasons I also believe that Medusa can tank damage better than DK, simply because of her Mana Shield, high armor from high agi gain and her "farming" potential which further increases her tanking potential. We should also take into mind Medusa's attack animation has been improved.
Due to the observer wards problem, and also of the crow thing, some players may just be content with a mere chicken which was the case before 6.48b. Instead heroes with ward potential like Weaver and Treant could be used in the game in addition to the observer wards. Also remember that these 2 heroes are a power in their own right.
Additionally some buffed intelligence heroes like Lion, Lich, Lina and some others like Dark Seer, THD, Faerie Dragon will make their mark. Which is it is up to the players, because so many possibilities exist.
A lineup derived from the above reasoning could be:
Medusa (Middle)
Lich + Lion (Top)
Treant + Dark Seer (Bottom)

top-sand king+veno
this is what i call sure GG at level 6. SK initiates with stun, veno uses his ulti and slow
mid lane-solo SF
mid solo SF is known to be the best method to go with. he can farm unpredictably fast if his allies functions well.
btm lane-magnus+necrolyte
the logic stands the same for as SK+Veno, but might needs some coordinations. this is why they are suited at btm lane, where fog and trees stands at their benefits

@caspian - not sure - I don't remember any buffs made to dusa recently. The purge is of course, no doubt useful, but the problem with dusa is control. She's more or less a liability to the team until she gets a major item - and before that, she's too fragile. She hardly farms before her item, and you give her a solo - more chance that she'll get decimated since she's a lower tier solo because of her poor base damage/hp.
Not to mention, DK has an AoE slow, similar to purge, less the anti-buff, more the targets. waitasec. I should rewrite the lineup so the AoE gets maximized too haha.
Lion definitely is going to leave a mark too in this version! I don't see why Treant gets in. He was picked time from time in 6.48b because of his ability to stop blinkers and Dagger users. But now because of the Dagger nerf, I doubt it that he'll be as useful as before - since there's nothing different from his AoE stun from other stuns.
@cf[x] - the problem with the line up is that its reliance to mass AoE strat. Remember that Dagger is nerfed, SF will be poorer now since he'll die often despite having a Dagger, and a Maggy initiation with dagger is also mediocre because no one would actually stick in a close AoE to just get RevPol-ed.
Top lane is weak - SK base armor nerf is bad, and Venomancer can't ensure a total lane control. Maybe sub with Lina/Lesh or something
Same for bot, they lack power - not to mention Maggy's power comes from Shockwave spam == Bottle Whoring. His position doesn't give him optimal access to it. Poor synergy too.
@Ganksta - Invoker is not yet declared balanced - more or less banned in leagues using the latest map. Though, agreed. It should be quite a mix when he's a-okay to play.

THD = Twin Head Dragon I presume?
Anyways . . .
Sentinel -
Puck The Faerie Dragon or Boush the Tinker - Mid Solo
Puck / Tinker Mid Solo is the way to go. They need to solo for fast ganking at around 6-8mins of the game.
Puck is more viable to the team as Puck can at least stun the whole enemy team (Dream Coil) while Tinker only uses Laser , Missile , Sheepstick Rearms. Though effective , Puck is still my way to go.
Rexxar The Beastmaster - Jungle
Beastmaster jungles effectively as we all know , so why not? His role is to jungle and not show up until 10mins of the game has passed and will rush BoT and Necronomicon/Sheepstick. Beastmaster is very effective is league games due to the fact he can Stun , Nuke , Slow , Scout , Destroy Juking Spots and such.Necronomicon / Sheepstick is recommended because of the extra disable from Sheepstick or Mana Burn + Aura + True Sight.
Lina Inverse The Slayer and Sven The Rogue Knight - Top
This is almost the same as the Lina/SK but since its a sort of side picking only , Sven substitutes finely enough. As honya said , this is for the dual stun combo Lina can destroy trees at the start of the game to put some wards and such. Once both are Level 6 , The fun starts. First is the Stun from Sven.(Storm Bolt) Once that is set , Lina gets to aim LSA which does more damage. (More fun if both enemy heroes are hit.) Sven then goes GS to whack them , while Lina uses Dragon Slave. Lina then uses Laguna to kill one , while Sven uses Storm Bolt again and whacks the other guy to death. Fun neh?
Squee and Spleen The Goblin Techies - Solo Bottom
Yes believe or not , I actually put Goblin Techies for a great 5v5 game. He goes solo because of the superior ability to stop farming by doing Suicide+Land Mine combo. . . but a smart player wont fall for those right?
Well , the Techies will be planting at spots where the enemy will go to GANK him. . . meaning , the places above and behind him. This will almost be an instant kill as some players TEND to NOT be careful of the Land Mines because of common sense. Thats how Techies will land some kills along with the famous Suicide kill. Techies will start off with Boots of Speed.
Goblin Techies' role in the game is to farm , delay farming , push and defend. Goblin Techies can defend badly well because of the Remote Mines + Land Mines + Statis Trap Combo. Goblin Techies farms well because of the Land Mine + Remote Mine Easy Creep Wave Kill Combo. Techies will get Arcane Ring and Mekanism to support the team , obviously along with Sheepstick , Shiva's Guard and Silencestick.
Scourge -
Akasha The Queen of Pain - Solo Mid
Akasha still remains as the Queen of Leagues for me. Though gameplay will be harder by a bit , her late game skills still amaze me. Getting Aghanim's Sceptre for QoP will be more viable now because of the cooldown and damage change. QoP also early ganks with Shadow Strike + Scream which deals severe damage to low hp heroes. (Examples are Puck/Tinker , except Tinker will be able to damage her badly also.)
Demnok Lannik The Warlock and Nevermore the Shadow Fiend - Bottom
Bah , this combo is a pain. Nevermore is pretty soft , so Warlock fixes that by healing him/her with Shadow Word. Warlock is pretty much a pain with Shadow Word , Upheavel and his Infernals. Nevermore at late game , turns into a ferocious monster even with the recent Kelen's Dagger Nerf. Nevermore kills early with Shadowraze while Warlock helps him initiate Shadowraze with Upheavel , and kills the living low hp heroes with Shadow Word.(With help from Shadowraze)
Magnus The Magnataur and Leshrac The Tormented Soul
This combo dominates early with their early game harassing tools. Magnus' Shockwave and Leshrac's Lightning Storm and Split Earth obviously grants a kill when both executed properly.Magnus was chosen because of his ability to have a chance to catch the whole team with Reverse Polarity , granting Infernal Execution , Split Earth Execution , Sonic Wave Execution and Requiem of Souls Execution.Leshrac was chosen because of early game skills and the ability to dish out some serious damage with Diabolic Edict and Pulse Nova.
All Pick -
Lina Inverse The Slayer and King Leoric the Skeleton King - Mid
Read Honya's Reason.
Magnus The Magnataur and Sven the Rouge Knight - Top
Magnus goes Shockwaving causing Lanemate(s) to go back for a bit while Sven quickly farms for MoM and BKB.Magnus then becomes a star late game as he disables almost whole enemy team with Reverse Polarity as I said before.Sven is p00n with BKB > GS > MoM Combo. Toss in a Blink Dagger for Sven and he is good to go.
Akasha the Queen of Pain and Nevermore the Shadow Fiend - Bottom
Lane Domination . Game Domination. Self Explanatory.
