I've noticed that nowadays, the most common item build for Luna Moonfang is Butterfly + Satanic (Helm of the Dominator as in-between). It gives damage (Agility bonus from Butterfly is amplified by Lunar Blessing), evasion and the lifesteal also works with Moon Glaives despite it being an orb-effect. However it seems another very uncommon item which could be more powerful (and cheaper) than the above would be Manta Style.

For those who don't know, Manta Style does not "cause Luna's attack to malfunction" (what the red-colored tooltip says). However, the mana burn from the item does not work, so you just have images that only throw Moon Glaives - glaives that can bounce! So you have 2 images that supposedly deals 40% of your attack damage, but in reality the total output damage would be more than just 180% (Luna + 2 images). It's probably closer to 200%. In addition I just LOL at the way those glaives bounce.

I've calculated that Luna and her 2 friends take about 9 seconds to destroy the Ancient Golems - whose HP is more or less the average of most heroes in the game. Using Butterfly and Helm the result is:

About 10 seconds for the same. However these two items are definitely more expensive than Manta Style. You also get Purge which can help immensely most of the time than just playing around with neutral creeps to get the Butterfly. But on the other hand Butterfly gives evasion, images can be destroyed, and if you get Helm you can convert useful creeps to serve your cause.

Finally, we can combine both Manta Style, Butterfly and Satanic and wreak total havoc! You get all of the above benefits, and people just run away when they see you. The resulting orb effect would be lifesteal for Luna alone - images don't steal life, they have no life. :P

So what are your opinions about Manta Style Luna?

Nice! That's the only build i've used with her since i randomed her like ages ago and got items off leavers lol.

Satanic
Butterfly
Manta
Buriza
AC/HoT/Lothars/depends on situation

I've only seen it once and to be honest I don't think it worked so well. I do see the merit in it though.
I still like Lothars more (yes, stop whinging about the 750 counter, I know).

I saw manta luna once in a real game, scourge side. They had destroyed sentinel base and were attacking the World Tree towers. So this luna fellow used it and omg! The glaives were bouncing between the 2 towers so fast I couldn't even make up how many glaives there were if I didn't know there were 3 lunas. Within 5 seconds both towers were gone - mind you only luna(s) was attacking the two towers. Imagine it in a real fight

i never use satanic + manta on luna,

but i'll try next time

I haven't thought about getting Manta Style on myself. Yeah, it would be pretty awesome to be at 3 places at once for 40 seconds.

But im used to the Helm+Butter build, never fails. Might try manta though.

im not sure... luna is veyr unstoppable qhen satanic + butterfly, but then with manta lol?

even at 45% damage thats insane damage X3 for the images.

i would love to see axe take on that... i consider axe the luna counter myself. mass attack speed means counter helix dominates.

but il try manta :P no ffedback will be given, if its awsome, i will not tell anybody XD

Uhhhh not happy... I just got thrashed by Manta Luna. Build went Treads Butterfly Sceptre Satanic Manta MKB... Sceptre was from a leaver and she got Manta about halfway through, then killed basically all of us at once. It hurt.

Therefore I resolve to try that build next time I get that far with Luna without mowing everything in sight with only Lothars. Your build, that is - Sceptre is an idiotic item to get when you could be buying a Butterfly instead.

i didnt really find it succesfull, i prefer getting buriza, slightly cheaper and more effective, its not worth.

absolute domination but only get manta as a luxery late game.

you are paying for mana burn....and it will not stack with life steal..waste of money..might as well buff my damage and attack speed
