I think petshop of horrors isn't that bad.

I think strange anime is think gundam series
[too many series, gundam, gundam seed, gundam seed destiny, any many more]

I agree that seed and seed destiny is wierd but not it's ancestor...
(forgot the term, anyway)

Just like Kamen rider and Power Ranger... Too much variation.

Weird? This thread needs more Bartender goodness...
Weirdness is relative though... so anime tha spawn many offshoots might be weird for some, normal for others. For some, weird means that it shorted your brain trying to figure out what is happening, And others might label anime they can't understand as weird. Usually a mix of different things are weird.
Others(IMO):
Kogepan(anime shorts about the life of a burnt piece of bread
Dogtato-kun(anime shorts about the adventures of a potato-dog and his anthrophomorhic vegetable/fruit friends)
Excel Saga(what would you expect with an anime that declares itself weird?)
Angel Tales(Most disturbing harem concept I've ever heard of in my entire anime viewing experience that to my misfortune found out that it exists)
Dokuro-chan (Excel saga meets Elfen Lied)
FLCL(Subtle form of mindrape)
Those are the ones off my head... I'll post any more when they come along

... Mecha aren't weird(normally). Gundam is actually divided between UC gundam(MSG, Z, ZZ) and non-UC gundam(like Seed). It does spawn a plethora of seqels to sequels, though.
... Gantz(I assume gantz) might be in the mindkilling category. Has gratuitious amounts of maturity(mostly as gore, a bit of sex)
... Why is Garfield being defensive about sexual orientation eh? hehe. and crimson climax sounds... H.
... Reccerosama's weird anime list and Yuki's petshop of horrors are not familiar to me... so no commento.
