What does this quote mean to you?
Posted on Wed Dec 13, 2006 11:21 pmWhat does this quote mean to you? Pretty self-explanatory. I'll post a new quote every few days.
Go!
One of the keys to success is an unflinching belief that there are no
rules. Anyone who's ever succeeded has gone on that premise; not
buying established procedures, business or otherwise. The naysayers
are inevitably left behind amid shouts of "it cannot be done" and
"should not be done". -Anton LaVey, writer of the Satanic Bible

the quotes seems to tell us to go beyond the limits of rules in order to achieve out ultimate desire or goal...
and all those who beleive that this "is" the limit meant to forever be left behind as a mere loser...

No, the one posted. Speaking of which, it's time I update this thread:
What's this one mean?
--------------------
The wounded in turn wound and torment those weaker than they
themselves are... There are only the killers and the killed... The
sinners who are judged, and the victims that do the judging. What
meaning is there to such a world? - SquareSoft

The first quote is true. But the "limits" being referred to have to be qualified. For me, going beyond the limits is seeing beyond what is, searching for ehat really is and doing what should be despite what seems to be possible.
The second quote I do not agree with.

I disagree with that quote humans have a tendency to establish rules boundarys and retain order u will achieve nothing by going against the laws of the world u can change the system by following it to the top and change it since u "know" the most abut it since u followed it start to finish but if u got to the top following the law it makes sense to keep following it so u go to haven o wait that quote is satanic so he doesnt care......

I'm assuming you're speaking of the Judeo-Christian religion Firesky.
Romans 3:10 "There is none righteous, no, not one"
Nothing you do will earn your way to "haven". Only faith. Satanism is a philosophy believing in self. It's the one thing I have confidence in -- myself. I don't trust teams or groups of people or laws I don't establish. I follow the rules of self.
Humans have a tendency to TRY to establish rules. That doesn't mean people always follow these rules. That's why people get so pissed off when others don't follow those rules -- "omg I have to follow these so should he". It's another deadly Sin of the Christian religion -- jealousy. Anytime another person is surpassed, it's "cheating" or "cheap" or "unfair" but to me those quotes mean simply that the greedy get what they want, the subtle get what they deserve, and the arrogent get whats coming. If you want something, you take it. That's how you earn the right to it. If you don't earn something, then you have no right to it. Following the rules, doing what you're told... these aren't ways of earning, it's a way of maintaining. Maintaining the status quo, the chain that society holds you with. Galileo Galilee looked beyond his society and it turned out he was right -- but he had to die to prove it. Centuries later we KNOW he's right, but it doesn't make him any less dead. To me, the world is seperated into three kinds of people: People who will die for what they believe, people who will roll over when another challenges their beliefs, and those who don't know what to believe. Which are you?

No. Faith is just icing on the cake.
The only way we could be saved is through God's grace.
It is needed, but it's not the most important.

I'm not saying I buy into all this but...
If God's Grace saved you (he is omnipotent, afterall), then everyone would be saved. God's Grace is by definition infinite, therefore it should extend to all people's. Faith is the means through which one accepts his grace, which is where "Salvation" comes into play.

What I meant is that they go hand-in-hand.
Let's look at this verse:
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
1] "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son.."
- God's love or God's grace at work. He loved as so much that he gave us a chance to be reconciled with him, that is through Jesus Christ
2] ".. that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
- Here's where Faith comes in. You have to accept His love and believe and you will be saved.
Of course, there's still repentance, discipleship, and other things that matter in life. But this is the basic one.

Wasn't Anton LaFey the one who died from something like 43 STD's after leaving his over-dominating Catholic parents? Just checking...
