explain how the same items stack w/each other?

for example...items like vanguard,butterfly, basher,buriza and mkb etc...if u use two vanguard what would increase? will the percentage of the vanguard increase into 130%? will it be doubled? or will the damge reduction be doubled? ex. vanguard blocks 65% (35damge*2=70damge blocked) correct me if im wrong...same goes to butterfly..it has 25% evasion..if u have two butterfly would the percentage of the evasion be doubled also?woudl it be 50% evasion?same goes to other items..thats what im trying to find out...can some1 clarify? tnx

1] Items with trigger chances only stack their chances of triggering
What stacks is the percent chance, not the damage, block, bash or whatever.
And the stacking is DIMINISHING.

If you get two Vanguards, you will have 1 - {[1-.65]x[1-.65]} = 0.8775 = 87.75% chance to block 35 damage.


2] Evasion NEVER stacks with another evasion, whether it's a skill or an item. Evasion stacks with Dispersion and Backtrack, as they work differently from the normal evasion.

3] Triggered orb effects [Sange (Maim), Maelstrom (Chain Lightning)] NEVER stacks. Item Priority takes precedence over which item will be chosen to take the trigger percentage.

If you get two Sanges, you will still only have 5% chance to Maim.

Batlle Fury stacks 100%
Means that 2 battle fury give you 70% cleaving attack.So do blademail.

hmmm.... battle furry stacks? so if i get 3 BF... will that be a 100% cleaving atck? sry for the lame question.... im quite puzzled....

Things that have a chance to activate follow the law of diminishing returns. This is because statistically, the probability of an event occuring cannot exceed 100%. The Vanguard example shows this pretty clearly, as Yukino points out:

"If you get two Vanguards, you will have 1 - {[1-.65]x[1-.65]} = 0.8775 = 87.75% chance to block 35 damage."


This applies to items like bashers, buriza, and butterfly.

Items like blademail and battlefury are not based on probability, therefore you can just add up the bonuses you get from them. It's similar to hyperstone where if you buy two, you will get 55% + 55% = 110% bonus attack speed.

Hope this clears things up.

Then again.. Evasion doesn't stack.
Miss Rate + Evasion = Stack [Diminishing]
Evasion + Backtrack/Dispersion = Stack [Diminishing]
Evasion + Evasion = Does not Stack

@ MK
Spell Reduction stacking is diminishing. However, Spell Reduction Skills can only stack with Spell Reduction Items if you get the item BEFORE you get the skill.
Two Spell Reduction Items NEVER stack. Even if they're not the same item [Aegis + Planeswalker's Cloak]

RIght, get Magina's Spell Shield of Pudge's Flesh Heap AFTER you get Aegis/Planeswalker's Cloak if you plan on getting added spell resistance. If you tech either skill while you have Planeswalker's Cloak, getting Aegis will actually make you lose Spell Resistance if I understand it correctly.

I have my own question: Does the evasion given by Radiance stack? It's listed as an effect that lowers enemies' chances to hit (like Blind Lightning from Jah'rakal and Rikimar's Smoke Screen) and that is supposed to stack, correct (Meaning Miss Rate + Miss Rate = Stacks (Diminishingly?))? And does the damage stack together, meaning 2 Radiances = 70 damage around the bearer?

Radiance damage doesn't stack. And the "miss chance" is actually evasion.

So no, it won't stack with evasion.

ooh heres a good one. DOES VLADS STACK?? ( with itself ) or with sk's skill or w/e
