How do you play lanaya? Templar assassin

I didn't use lanaya before so i was bored and decided to try to do my own item build for her using single player.

I do boots of speed, s&y, lothar...amazingly she reached a speed of 522

I also found that she can use meld while in lothar so the enemy doesn't know(at least from what i see as inbetween she is still invisible). However i need you guys to confirm this for me.
Imagine what she can do ....lothar to the enemy use meld wait till your meld/lothar cool down is almost over then meld again...so it will be 2x200 damage then proceed with your refraction ....

After this i read the guide in ds and found that i can also use scadi (didn't thought of that) however it is quite expensive.

To sum it up i wish to know the following.

1. If you play lanaya what will you get in order of importance
2. Can i lother then while in ww use meld without breaking invisibility
3. Can i use the teleport scroll or Boots of speed to tele while in MELD? (with out getting spotted)
4. Butterfly or Eye of scadi first?
5. Will you get lifesteal for her? (then you can't use EoS to slow)
6. From what i play ...seems like the cast range for her ulti is very long is it true ?
7. Her first skill makes you invulnerable to physical attacks only or magical attacks included? (imagine zeus spammin everything on you only to have you still in the green zone)

Note: I have not played a real game with her before so question i ask may seem noob. I only played with her in single player wtf mode to see the skills.

SnY is bad imo, it doesn't really help too much and she doesn't need 522 ms since she can use her traps to chase people, Deso is very popular since the -armor stacks with Meld for lots of negative armor

1. I get Bracer (only 1), Treads, Deso, Skadi
2. Not sure, would need to try that out.
3. No, by using another ability it will break the invis.
4. Butterfly, she has Refreaction for survival, and traps for a slow, so the only thing she really needs is the Agi which Blfy is better in giving
5. FYI you can use lifesteal and Skadi on ranged heroes, but as for your original question, no, she doesn't really need lifesteal for survival since with Deso or Bfly can deal out massive dps and refract will save her for a bunch of attacks
6. Yes, very long, somewhere in the range of 1500 I think
7. It does stop magic attacks, so combo killers (Lion, Lina, Zues) would be very ineffective (I wonder if static field will trigger an occurrence of Refract, anyone know?)

Her ulti can be used from 2000 range, so yeah very long.
If you first use Teleport scroll or BoT then use lothars, they wont be able to see you. It is just like WD's Death Ward+Lothar combo. But Im not sure of meld since meld is not just a sipmple invisiblity. I think it breaks.
Double/triple meld was a bug that people did with RoB, i think it was fixed, or not ?

OK, lanaya is a great character, although you can rule her alone from level 15 above with a fair items. I've been playing Lanaya for almost 20+ times and I observed as much as many use about her. Thanks to other people around that helped me with this one.

For item build, IMHO "it really depends on your mood and fighting style" not the opponent and the item itself. So, i extend these for the skill build too.


For item build.
Basilius,Stout-S,Tango -->

#1 Desolator, Vanguard, PowerT. ButterFly, Radiance etc.

#2 Some people build, instead of Deso, they use Mjol for 200ChL & Static, then they go for Van,PT, BF etc

#3 Some, instead of Vanguard, they use Mekansim for team play. etc

#4 they use Loathars, rather than Desolator.

it really depends on you and your team, sometimes, guinso or diffusal. its really useful. A friend of mine use Mask of Madness without PsiBlade.

for Skill build

for skills, people rather go for 1,2,1,2,1,4,1,2,2,3,3,4,3,3 stat. still useful.. Lanaya is fighting on her full potential at melee ranged

Others may prefer.. 1,3,1,3,1,4,1,2,2,2,2,3,4,3,etc... people who do this is very defensive, they prefer to kill heroes at Level 12 and above.

Strategies rely on you, people here are at their best opinions and they are not noobs.

try to play Lanaya at different angles and see if it really match on your game plan and attacking tactics.

her ulti xD i love it hehe, let ur teammates have control of ur character so they can activate the traps when needed hehe.

I get 5 GG Branches and a Flask to start off with. Then I go 1-2 Bracers and BoTs. I get Desolator for the additional armor reduction and then a Hyperstone which later is turned into an Assault Cuirass.

well if you want to teleport you can do vice verse.. meaning that if you first run after then turn meld on and wait til cd on lothar is over you just start teleporting and turn lothar on making you invissible wile teleporting, i doubt you can use meld to get inviss while tp'ing but i know you can with lothar


also her ulti is great to use instead of wards slows great is a good slowspell and with stygian you can take about 500 dmg with meld on one hit

"Buddy", keep up the spam. Already at 3 warnings with only 17 posts.

First of all, Lanaya doesn't need a slow since she has Psionic Traps. Second of all, Corruption overrides which is all that matters since Corruption is the more important orb effect. Third of all, Skadi is most probably for stat bonuses. Ever thought about that?

I wouldnt recommed to get Radiance...although it helps farming and gives dmg and evasion it gives your enemy the Idea where you are about to be found so dont...with rikimaru its better because you can still move...better get for the money, things like buriza or bfly....

I don't recommend Radiance for any Stealth heroes such as Lanaya, Rikimaru, or Gondar because they are STEALTH HEROES . Get it? They require "Stealth" and a Radiance would simply give away their location and tell enemies when and where to drop a ward.[/u]

Vanguard is one of the most useless items for Lanaya. Time your melds and use your Refraction.
