I think he is thinking about he slow for Diffusal, Manta wouldn't be good imo since they won't just stick around to let 3 dooms beat on them, the slow is useful, helps get those last few attacks in that ensure that doom kills the hero

I haven't tried it myself, could work

Yeah, the idea of Diffusal Blade was as Folechno pointed out: the Purge. Ensures that you get those kills, and the mana burn is a bonus. Upgrading to Manta Style is done only once all charges are used.
However, I just thought of something: If you Doomed, then Purged, would the Doom be Purged? That would be sad Sad

My item build would be:
- Hand Of Midas
- Boots Of Speed -> Power Treads / Travel
- Battlefury
- Diffusal Blade -> Manta Style once Diffusal charges are exhausted
- Aghanims
- Vladimir's
Maybe HoM could be sold later for an optional item such as a HoT or Refresher (I don't particularly like these items on him)
Optional Orb Items instead of Diffusal/Manta:
-Satanic
-SnY
-Possibly EoS, have to try it out.

i'm pretty sure that purge doesn't remove doom
one of the very few things that purge cannot remove.
