Guide to Windrunner - v.55

Well, Icefrog has released a new map filled with a lot of major updates. New heroes, items, re-works, terrain changes, this seems big. Well, today, I'm going to look at one of the new heroes, Alleria - Windrunner. I'm going to cover an item build, skill build and some explanations on skills/items and game-play. Hopefully, I'm going to revamp and develop this into a strategy soon.

So, people are wondering, what kind of hero is the Windrunner (aka, alleria). To be direct, she is an INT based hero taking the aspect of a ranger. Meaning, Drow+INT=Alleria(with some other skills of course).
To be basic, I'm going to list some pros/cons:

Pros:

Very adept and versatile killer.
Has very handy skills.
Very fast
Ranged
Good escape/gank mechanism

Cons:

Extremely low armor
Extremely low STR (main weakpoint early)
Slow aspd

Those aren't all, but those are just some main points.

Now an exaplanation of skills...

Shackleshot
It's your main stun. I don't use this much too often during farms, but it's your best initiator. Especially with a 2v2 situation, as it also stuns the enemy behind the target . This is also a good escape as it is a nice 3 seconds. Although the mana cost is a bit of a pain, but this is why you're an INT ranger.

Powershot
This, is truly a spell that requires a little luck and skill if you were killing. For farming you would need to position this shot in a good way to eliminate a whole creep wave, as it has a casting time. The arrow goes through but reduces damage each hit so I guess it would be a farming skill. But oh no? What? 360 damage? No! Killing skill! Like Elune's Arrow or Meat hook, you would need to position this and time it very well if you were to chase or kill. It has a small aoe radius going at super-speed, and a casting time. Versatile it is.

Windrunner
This is your best chaser/speed gain from. This is what makes you one little fast !@#$%. You can chase as it gives you 50% ms and gives a degen aoe aura. I suggest you mainly use this for chasing rather than confusing the enemy. It has a high mana cost too.

Focus Shot
Your ultimate. This is pretty strong for finishing towers, or killing heroes. Basically, it's just an enhanced Ursa Fury Swipes, having 10 max hits with HIGH aspd. No need for explaining, it will do the job having a great synergy.

So I've reviewed the skills, pretty much for an AGI hero? But mana-costs are high, so you'll be getting pretty much STR/INT. She kind of relies on her skills rather than her starting build.

She has very low armor and health. The last time I played with her, I was max health at level 1, I got get by a level 1 tower, it took about 1/5 of my whole health down. Damn.

So, you know what they say.. RING OF BASILUS! Provides armor and some mana regen for spamming power shot. But, remember, always keep your mana at a moderate level in early stages. She's so fragile, that there is almost a guaranteed first blood if you don't know how to use her.

The next item, Phase Boots!

Phase Boots? Wtf is this item? IT'S NEW! (and great XD)
+70 MS
+7 Armor
+16 damage
+Phase (active)
Increases MS by 10% and provides zero collisions for 5 seconds, at no mana, and 10 sec cooldown. (Casting spells removes effect).
This is a great item because, it gives a huge 70 MS, a good 7 armor and 15 damage and has a pretty imba skill. At only around 1.5k

For now, the item build goes one way or another. I see that she could go for an Orchid or a Sange+Yasha. Orchid is awesome because it gives aspd, int and a soulburn, everything she needs. A sange yasha would give a nice maim, good STR and AGI, ms and aspd. Imho, I would choose the orchid. But you could also go for a sange yasha and build for major aspd and damage.

Summary of Item Build

Ring of Basilus>Phase Boots>Orchid>Shivas/Guinsoo
Ring of Basilus>Phase Boots>Sange+Yasha>Cuirass>Bfly

That's the end on how to use the Windrunner. I hope to see how Captain CoCo is played, well. I'll listen to your flaming, and hopefully Drew will add a hero strat builder for Alleria. Amazing hero, GJ Icefrog.
