A TIE!? AND WHY ARE THEY BLUE? WTF OROCHI!?

Each guide recieved 4 votes each and instead of having a tie breaker, Orochi meddled and decided to make it a tie!

I want you all to welcome your new Chambermaids Praetors . The cerebrates decided to reshuffle the staff and made promtions/demotions.

Getting GotM will NOT get you promoted to blue, their promotion have been decided weeks before. Whining about it will get you shot. Survivers will be shot again.

The Interview:

1) Suddenly, A TIE! What was your reaction to this?

Quale: i'm surprised, didn't expect a tie ...didn't expect DS would allow a tie. but two guides be featured for november? wohoo! it's something new. i feel excited. can't wait to see read the reactions of everyone.

congrats to greater bash, my fellow awardee btw. ^_^

GBash: Well i knew when i saw the guides that were published this month that it would be a tough competition so i kinda knew that the ratings would be very close to eachother but i didn't expect a tie. So it was a little surprise that it would be an allowed tie if you know what i mean. I first thought quale and i had to do something else to finally decide who would be the winner. But we both deserve it so actually a good idea to be a tie.

2) 2) How long did it take you to finish the guide?

Quale: can't remember when i exactly started. but i posted the magic spell's weaknesses and counters guide first week of august. i remember i created this thread in preparation of my zeus guide. so it took me two months then.

GBash: Well to require all the knowledge, screenshots and good replays (with teamplay -> very important) i would say a month or so. Then making the guide maybe a week.
Dunno exactly anymore.

3) What sacrifices were made to finish this guide?

Quale: my time for work*. i'm a bad employee. O.o

*my boss mustn't know this. but i type the texts at break time or whenever i'm free. i took the screenies and animations at home. so no harm done.

GBash: Some time to study (which is actually no problem btw because my scores are still good :D). I can't really say my freetime because Dota is one of the things i do in my freetime. Yeah mainly my time to study.

4) What did you feel during/after making this guide? In any point of your guide writing, did you feel like giving up? Why?

Quale: the first part i focused in my guide are those animated headings. there are 8 of them. after i completed the headings, uploaded and tested to the strategy builder ...i just felt wow. it gave me excitement completing the guide.

as i finished the guide and looked the overall preview, it looked cool than i expected. i'm proud of what i have accomplished. i'm also thrilled for everyone to see it.

GBash: During the guide i still searched things to improve my guide and was worrying if it would be good enough to be published. When i finished the guide i still knew it could use some improvements but couldn't perfectly say what. That's why the readers and commenters and also the Support Team/Chambermaids are for.

But now i know all of my guides can use some improvements
because i am learning how to make gifs perfectly so maybe
in my future guides you guys will see some gifs made by
me.

5) In any point of your guide writing, did you feel like giving up? Why?

Quale: none at all. anyway, zeus is not really a complicated hero. making a guide for him is easy.

but during the development of my guide, merlini posted his zeus guide in DA. (can i mention his guide?) i admit i learned from his guide and it moved me to adjust my build, a little. for a short time i have this worry that readers will compare my guide to his. at the end i just said to myself, it doesn't matter coz my approach is different to his.

GBash: Actually i never considered quitting because i like making guides for other people. Sometimes i can say i make a guide on this hero or on that hero and i keep changing constantly like some people (like folechno lol) know. But now i again started a guide and i'm pretty sure im gonna finish that one

6) How do you feel about your guide being chosen? Why do you think your guide is worthy of being the Featured Guide of The Month?

Quale: happy. very happy. very excited when i learned that it's a tie, a tie with GB. yeah, it sound so cool. ^_^

my guide is worthy coz i tried my best to make it with good presentation. for the readers of DS not only to learn how to play zeus, but to feel a touch of entertainment too. hopefully it did.

GBash: Well ofcourse it feels good that my guide and quale's guide are the chosen ones and i think we both deserve it. To answer your second question just read our guides and i think you know enough. We both explain everything well about our hero and i think thats our key to making good guides. We both like to make jokes on our guide and on the forums, maybe thats also why people like our guides and us lol. Aaaaawwwww! :D

7) If you were to list out the good and bad points of your guide, what would they be? Do so for the other guide as well.

Quale: I'll base my answer to the comments of readers in the guide. good presentation, good animations. the guide looked clean and very informative. bad points is that it is so damn long, again. too many wall of texts.

greater bash' necrolyte guide on the other hand is also great. the pattern of his guide is simple and it look so clean. the simplicity of his guide shows everyone how actually easy it is to make guides. i recommend his guides as an example to anyone who is planning to create one.

bad points? there's nothing much i can say. if i would give GB an advise for his next guides, i say-- keep growing.

GBash: Well maybe my bad points about my guide could be that i still have my screenshots listed 1 by 1. I hope i can change that soon if my gif practising turns out alright, maybe i should ask quale some advice. Yeah lets do it, quale lend me some help here? :D So my bad points are about my layout i think. Well my good points are then i think that i explain the skills on my hero very well and people know what i am talking about then. And im always there to help new people, thats also why i keep making guides.

You ask me to give good points and bad points at quales guide? Well i just love his layout and his gifs and i hope i can do it also with nice gifs in the future. Bad points... well i can't really give bad points at his Zeus guide i think, nope i can't give any.

8) Are you unsatisfied with any part of the guide and wish you could do something else to make it better? Do so for the other guide as well.

Quale: like i've mentioned already: my guide being too long. i feel some of the info i gave are kinda general. would need to reduce the infos and focus on stuff related to zeus only. probably in my next update.

at GB's necrolyte guide: well, the conclusion part is a little mess. XD

i hope you can organize them a bit GB. like make headings for the spell resistance computations, then replay section. my another concern is the huge wall of text about the mana burners. XD

GBash: Like i said earlier im learning how to make gifs so that would be my improvement for today hehe. For the other guide well nope again if i don't have any bad points i also can't give any criticism on that. His guide is just awesome. In lay-out and explanation. Good Job quale!

9) Are you planning another guide? And what would it be?

Quale: yes. a guide for a strength-type scourge hero! still lookin though.

GBash: Yep i'm making a guide now for one of the most feared heroes named Axe. Some of you guys already knew this. And i must say i like to play him in my style. You guys will see it when it is published (at least i hope that). I think after my Axe guide i am considering to make one for Lycanthrope but that is still far away. Never can stop making guides hehe.

10) Do you have any important tips you would like to share with your fellow guidemakers?

Quale: enjoy while working your guide. do not procrastinate!

GBash: Try to explain everything, make your guide comfortable to read and have a good lay-out.

11) What inspired you to create this guide? Did you get any help at all? What do you feel about DS?

Quale: When I got promoted as vip, i felt obliged to create another guide. before, i just wanted to post a guide in DS ...only one guide. but it's been fun anyway, so the second one is ok. a third sounds cool: quale's trilogy. :P

noone helped me creating the guide. but some DS members and mods (plus merlini) gave me useful infos about zeus. thanks to them btw. my friends too, in manila. they helped me making some experimentations.

GBash: My inspiration, well i started to make a Dazzle guide here (which imo is now way outdated) and my writing back then was really different. I learned a lot of things here and became more confident on guidemaking because of all the good and positive criticism. So ty for that. I started an account and i don't even know when that was, all i know is that i was inactive the whole time and suddenly started posting on the forum and i never stopped so it gives you an idea if i like DS or not. Personally i like the site for its good explanations, (again) layout lol and the people here with who i can make jokes. Seriously i already have got a good time here at DS. And the people who helped me with my guide are credited. :) And ofcourse the Mods/Support Team/VIP
for helping me when I needed help. Yeah it happens.

12) Who is your DS crush?

Quale: what question is this?! i'll whisper you my answer ...i'm shy ...GAAAH! PASS!

GBash: Funny question, do i really have to answer this? Haha
I just like all of you guys and ty for the good and funny moments we already had.

13)A shark has turned you into Chambermaids . Is this awesome?

Quale: hmm, weird question ...will the shark eat me? sound awesome though. sigh. -_-

GBash: Didnt expect that because i thought becoming a VIP on this forum was already awesome enough. So ofcourse it is awesome (Y). A lot came through my mind becoming one of the staff here so yeah it was kinda unexpected when i suddenly got a PM from you. Thx to Mods and ST for making me one and ofcourse our big man Drew.

14) Any last words?

Quale: thanks to everyone in dotastrategy! to imperators, chambermaids, centurions and peons members. i haven't forgot our supreme chancellor ...where's drew anyway? where's our badge?!!! :sob:

GBash: Yeah i hope i will have in the future the same good and funny times as i already have had in the past with you guys. Thx for the interview and i probably will see you guys as readers in my next guide (or so i hope). Bye!
