well since it's just 1 level gap , u can easily catch up.. just pick an early game harasser such as viper , clinkz , huskar and drow.. This is situation is normal.. Sometimes when ur with a lane partner facing a solo hero.. that hero outlevels u anyway.. *gone off topic*

techies would be a good choice..

but if your only gap by 2-3 levels, any hero will do..

you can catch up with there levels fast..

but if its 6levels+,

i suggest getting a range hero like razor and clinkz.. ^^

anyone who can farm and maybe tank a bit. you only need to catch up levels.

i got the same situation with slardar. what i did, just massed up bracers, and never left the lane until i was the same level with them. but still item gap. but it was manageable. result: win. our troll got overfed. >.>
