A bit lame chapter is up, I'm already sleepy, but here goes. Btw, the chapters posted constitute 1/8 of the entire story, so you guys are off to a really long read.
Chapter 6
Kelthuzad felt the coldness of his body envelope his soul. He felt the air on his face, and it was a little warmer than he was used to. The wind breeze shook the trees mightily, as with a gathering storm. He knows that the storm has arrived. A storm that will end all life in Azeroth.
Behind him, the Winterchill Army stood waiting for him. The portal glowed brightly in the distance to his left, spewing forth remaining liches until they return to their bodies.
“We have arrived. The Burning Legion has returned to Azeroth!” he triumphantly shouted.
He could feel the frozen malice of arcane magic inside him. Good thing, he thought, as he surveyed the lands before him. They arrived just before daybreak as the sun slowly rising on the mountains in the east. The land were already warming up, but was rudely interrupted by the presence of the Lich King Kelthuzad. The dewdrops on the leaves turned instantly to frozen pieces of ice.
“Set up our base camp. Watch for the Infernal landing in the Southern sky. That is our signal to attack. Until then, clear out this area and kill every living being on sight.” he commanded.
The aide bowed and began barking orders to the Winterchill Army.
“See to it that our formation is tight. Form ranks and place our strongest casters in front.”
“Yes, my lord Kelthuzad.” the aide answered.
They need not wait for the Infernals to drop out from the sky. From across the plain where they appeared, several Tauren saw them and began to howl wildly.
“My lord, shall we engage?” the commander asked.
“Let them come. If they attack, maintain the ranks and shower them with frost. Maintain high tolerance as we must wait for the Infernals in the southern skies.” Kelthuzad said.
The Tauren were huge beasts carrying logs of wood on their backs. A lone Tauren let out a cry of battle, alerting several hundred Tauren and Bristlebacks in the area. They waved their large, bulky axes and gathered their numbers. The trees parted and out came the Taurens and Bristlebacks, shouting and roaring.
Kelthuzad was surprised a bit by their enthusiasm and fervor, but his army is more than a match for any living, breathing army.
“My lord Kelthuzad, a messenger approaches from the front.” a lich announced.
Kelthuzad slowly hovered to the front of the Winterchill army and prepared to meet the herald.
They met between the two large armies. The Tauren herald looks like the leader, Kelthuzad thought.
The herald was big, almost seven feet tall. His huge hooved feet made footprints on the ground because of his weight. He made mooing sounds and clasped his axe on his hand, the veins showing and about to pop out.
“Who are you stranger, and why have you come to the lands of the Hooved Ones? You clearly are neither Human nor Elf.” the herald said.
“My name is Kelthuzad, beast. And I come with tidings of Doom. Your world will be consumed by fire and frost, and all of you will be enslaved or perish under our might. Surrender now and we may have pity on your race.” Kelthuzad said expressionless.
At these words the herald grabbed his buge totem pole and slammed the ground with it, sending ripples of shockwave from its source. It held its huge axe on its right arm and raised it up high. Kelthuzad was not impressed.
“You shall not pass, thin one. Prepare to go back from where you came from. These lands belong to the Hooved Ones, and forever it will stay that way.” the herald backed away slowly. He gave Kelthuzad one last piercing look.
Kelthuzad returned the look with a smoldering gaze. He marched back to join his army and ordered “Hold the ranks, they will charge now.”
“My lord Kelthuzad, look!” several liches looked at the southern horizon.
Kelthuzad glanced up. He saw the skies light up in a spectacular shower of fire and brimstone. The Infernals have just announced their presence into the lands of Azeroth, and has signaled the Winterchill army to conquer the northern Animalian Kingdoms.
“Disregard my previous orders. Liches of the Winterchill Army, attack at will. Destroy every life you see in these lands.” Kelthuzad gave the order.
At once, the icy fingers of Death crept up to the armies of Tauren and Bristleback slowly, hovering over the plains and into the ranks of warm bodies.
“Leave no one alive.” came the last order of the Lich King.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Raigor Stonehoof watched as the liches floated on the plains like ghosts. If they can talk, they can die, Raigor thought. He adjusted the weight of his axe over his shoulder and grabbed the large totem pole by his side.
“Raigor, we will slow their advance with our nasal goo. Once they are covered in slime, we can rip them apart.”
Raigor looked at Rigwarl with confident look. “Whatever these things are, Mother Azeroth will guide our attacks.”
“Go and tell the Army to prepare, brother.” Rigwarl said.
Raigor stepped up in front of the army and shouted in a loud voice.
“Taurens and Bristlebacks, my brothers. For the last several hundred years we have protected the lands of our ancestors with our lives. No one, not even Elves and Men, have taken these lands from us, and certainly no other being will do so. Not in another Millenia. These beings are clearly not from this world, but we will kill them nevertheless. For we are the protectors of these lands, our poles and axes are mighty, and we come with the power of mother Azeroth. Death to all our enemies!”
The army cried in unison and was mad hungry for battle. They marched forward, axes and poles ready. The land shook violently as the heavyset Bristlebacks opened up the front, followed by the Taurens. Birds circled around the plains and the dust gathered as the Bristlebacks stepped up their speed in a surprising fashion.
Almost several yards into the enemy, the Bristlebacks sprayed slimy substances into the liches, who were caught off guard. The slime covered and spread to the second and third ranks of confused liches. The Tauren followed suit and rammed the bony liches, sending them flying all over the place.
Axes flailed everywhere as the Tauren ripped apart the liches, who did not seem sure of what to do. The liches fired back with icy spears and short daggers, but the rampaging Bristlebacks were on a warpath, breaking everything they can get their hands on.
“Puny beings, how dare you challenge the might of the Animalians! Destroy them!” Raigor shouted, slamming his totem pole and crushing three unfortunate liches covered in slimy goo.
Ice began to appear on the arms of a Tauren warrior beside him. It slowly crept up to his entire body. He howled from the pain as the ice slowly covered his face. Raigor saw the light vanish from the Tauren’s eyes as Death claimed him, his figure a solid block of ice.
He saw the leader of the enemy floating in the midst of all the confusion. The lich was blasting away spells of ice into his warriors, who stood shocked by the force of the biting cold.
A group of Bristlebacks were thrashing away at some liches, pummeling them to death. A few seconds later, the group was violently blasted away by a large block of ice.
The fight turned into a free for all, and Raigor killed every lich that got in his way. A few liches tried to slow him down by freezing his body, but the power of the Stonehoof cannot be matched. He jumped into the middle of the Winterchill Army and pounded the ground with his totem pole, sending everyone flying in all directions. Far to his right, he saw his comrade Rigwarl, spraying spikes that penetrated the lean bodies of the liches.
He was proud to fight alongside the Bristlebacks, they were peace-loving Animalians who enjoyed ale. He remembered quickly Mangix’s bar in Central Animalia, but his thoughts soon returned to the battle at hand.
The lich leader continued blasting the Taurens and Bristlebacks with frozen ice. A Bristleback warrior continued to spray quill spikes into the ranks of the liches until his body was encased in ice. The lich behind hit the warrior with an ice hammer, and his body erupted into a thousand pieces of shimmering ice.
-------------------------------------------------------------
The battle raged on for a good one hour, neither side have completely taken control of the situation.
Raigor swung his axe and felled a lich in front of him. He held his totem pole on his shoulder and sent it flying into several liches like a spear. The totem pole rammed several unfortunate liches and broke their bones from the force of the projectile.
He quickly ran to recover his totem pole, but then he noticed something. The liches began to cover themselves in ice. He looked at his comrade Rigwarl, and they exchanged puzzled glances.
They both saw the effect of this icy armor on the liches. The Bristlebacks were still hitting and attacking the liches with such force, but their hits were slowed, worse, their attacks seem to weaken with each blow.
The rampaging army’s advantage, strength and speed, were significantly reduced due to this protective barrier of ice around their enemies. Even Raigor himself found it difficult to hit the nearest lich. It seems every attack he made, his body slowed its metabolism by half.
He took a deep breath and slammed the ground in front of him. Even the air is a little heavier because of all the ice, he thought.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kelthuzad saw the massive fissure created when the Tauren slammed the ground. The ground spewed forth soil and dust upwards, throwing back several liches. His army has clearly turned the tables around when he ordered each lich to cover itself with icy armor. Ice, in its raw form, can cut armor and deflect any bladed or blunt attack.
He paused for several seconds and placed his arms forward, palms facing away from him. Summoning all the knowledge of arcane magic, he created a ball of ice; its size clearly growing with each passing second.
He turned around and hurled the frozen element into the stack of Taurens closest to him. It hit a Tauren warrior and bounced off several dozen other Bristlebacks. Each bounce of the ice claimed the life of its unfortunate victim. The ice traveled with increasing speed and volume, until at last it hit the Tauren herald he met earlier.
To further ensure the death of this upstart, Kelthuzad barked to his liches.
“Concentrate your arctic blasts on that Tauren, I want him dead.”
Several liches on his side dispatched their enemies quickly and proceeded to blast the unfortunate Tauren to bits.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hitting the ground gave Raigor’s totem pole immense power. He swung the totem pole on a lich and broke its icy armor, exposing his vulnerable body. The lich was violently hit by the swing of the pole and lay on the ground, its last vision was that of a hooved feet stepping over its face.
After crushing the face of the lich, Raigor was jerked forward by a force that sent him shivering in pain. He almost lost his balance had it not been for his pole. He turned to face his attacker, and saw several chunks of ice headed his way. He also saw the liches and their leader hovering near the distance.
He steeled himself for the impact. He held his axe and pole in a cross to protect him. The frozen blasts slammed into him simultaneously. He felt his weapons blown away to pieces, metal and wood, shards of which flew in different directions.
He collected himself and shook his head, but he felt his legs fail him. He went down on his knees and looked at his attackers. His head lolling like a fool, he looked around and searched for blood and bodies of his brethren to see if they can still carry on. All he saw were frozen blocks of ice and water. The grim reality came to him that the water was the dissolving remains of the Taurens and Bristlebacks, the remaining few still fighting to the last Animalian.
“May my ancestors watch over me.” he mustered all the strength he can to stand. A Stonehoof never backs down from any adversity.
He prepared to pound the ground with his bare fist. He saw the liches and their leader descending to finish him off before he can do any damage to them. The leader held out his hand and fired away another ball of ice, enough to drain away his remaining strength and freeze him.
He saw the quills before he saw the body jump in front of him. His heart sank when he saw the horrible reality. What used to be arms were now just black, gaping holes in each side of Rigwarl. The mighty arms which felled hundreds of warriors have been detached due to frostbite.
“Go, my brother, save yourself.” Rigwarl stood facing him, his backside exposed to the liches.
As the icy blasts exploded upon impact on the Bristleback's body, Rigwarl was sent flying forward over the kneeling Stonehoof.
On his dying breath, Rigwarl completely separated the outer cover of his back and showered the liches behind with a millions pieces of sharp quills. His body landed a few feet behind Raigor, dead and frozen solid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The quills sprayed the attacking liches and temporarily blotted out the sun. Kelthuzad brought up his ice armor in time, and the quills bounced off the spherical protection harmlessly. Some unfortunate liches whose ice armor was not activated were stabbed by the rain of quills descending on the Winterchill Army.
“Finish him off. The rest of you kill all survivors.” Kelthuzad shouted, mad that he lost many in this contest.
The ground under them cracked and exploded under the terrible force of the Stonehoof slam. It raised a wall six feet high and covered the Tauren completely. Kelthuzad was thrown off his feet as his ice armor shattered into pieces. When he finally composed himself, the Tauren was gone.
He looked at the battlefield and saw the victory of the Winterchill Army. His army has destroyed the main offensive threat in the Northern Animalia, the Taurens and Bristlebacks. He scanned the fields for any sign of another attack. There was none. His liches were dispatching the survivors with relative ease, tearing them apart once they have been turned into ice.
Several meters away, a lone Human on horseback arrived and eyed Kelthuzad. He returned the gaze of the Human, who also surveyed the carnage before him. He nodded to Kelthuzad, and the Lich King knew of him.
"Make haste Human, our master beckons." He then placed a protective icy armor around him and watched him ride hard towards South.
He went about his business and killed any survivors with his icy finger of death. A great victory for the Legion, he thought. He had done the first part of his job. Next, he needs to hold the northern pass to ensure the Legion’s position in the south.
“Prepare our encampments here. We need to hold this area until the Doombringer appears.” Kelthuzad ordered.

No there is none. I hope that doesn't sound bad, but there is a "group" of main characters. like in Lord of the Rings, wherein everyone is placed on the spotlight every now and then.

extremely short chapter 7
Chapter 7
A tiny orb hovered on the center of the streets of Central Animalia. Within seconds, its mass and size grew exponentially, causing alarm to those who saw it. The townsfolk gathered around the sphere, and in hushed voices, discussed what it might be.
Radiant light shone brightly from the sphere’s orifice. It grew to tremendous power and intensity, sending the Animalians scampering away. They wondered what this thing could be, and what was inside the sphere.
All questions were put to rest when a large winged beast materialized just inches away from the opening of the sphere.
It was a nightmare from Hell.
Azeroth’s greatest enemy stood waiting for the transformation to finish.
When it was finished, he savored the warmth of the Azeroth climate in his every breath. Finally, they have reached their destination. After hundreds of years of searching, the Burning Legion has returned, carrying Death and Destruction with them.
He turned around and felt the humid air blow by his wings. The portal took them to the very heart of the Animalian Kingdom, a sprawling town of Hooved Ones. Houses and streets were filled with Animalians and some Humans and Elves.
Cries of shock and surprise came from the population when they saw him. A great winged beast of Doom was not a common site here. He then proceeded to speak in loud, booming voice.
“I am Lucifer, the Destroyer of Worlds. Doom has come into your lands to rain chaos. You will all perish under the might of the Burning Legion!”
He raised his arms and immediately, the surrounding area of the portal went up in flames. Panic ensued; some cows and rams were burned, screaming in agony.
To his side, Demnok Lannik stepped out of the portal and began to do the task his master required of him. His lips moved silently as he called out the destruction to begin.
The skies thundered and lit up. Clouds gathered overhead, signaling the start of a thunderstorm. But this thunderstorm will not bring rain of water.
The clouds above opened up, lightning and thunder accompanying it. A gigantic rock came from the heavens, hurtling towards the ground in a very fast rate.
The first Infernal dropped from the sky with the force of ten thousand goblin dynamites. It hit a large house and totally obliterated it, killing the clueless inhabitants within. The surrounding houses stood shaking from the shockwave it caused. Fires immediately consumed the fallen structure as well as the bodies of the victims. Lucifer saw the massive crater created from the Infernal landing, and watched in anticipation as the Infernal slowly rose up.
From the fire and smoke the Infernal stood up towering over the houses, its yellow-green color mixing with the hot red-orange fire on its surroundings. It walked to a nearby house, whose inhabitants tried running away in total terror. It caught the hind leg of a Bovine, who struggled to break free. The poor thing was burned alive and the Infernal picked up the body and crushed it with massive stone hands.
The sky filled with the rain of Infernals, plunging the Kingdom into total chaos. As far as the eye can see, the Infernals landed and demolished everything. They killed every Animalian, Human and Elf they can lay their fiery hands on.
But the Burning Legion has just started. The portal then spewed forth the Elite Scourge warriors and finally, the demons of Hell.
“Go and destroy every living thing in this Kingdom.” Lucifer commanded.
Like a swarm of locusts, the Scourge spread across the streets, killing at will.
But then something stirred at the heavens above. This is no Infernal that has come to join the madness in the lands below.
Lightning struck the ground in front of Lucifer and dispersed the flames in it. He was momentarily taken aback by this interruption. The Elites stood ready for any impending attack, and waited for Lucifer’s command.
Out of the dust, a being filled with electricity stood, its wand poised to strike. Inside the helm was total blackness, save for two shining eyes. But it did not attack them. A most fascinating sight, Lucifer thought.
“I thought you don’t interfere with the affairs of mortals, Lightning God.” Lucifer spoke. Behind him, Darkterror gripped him club tight.
“I am not who you think I am. I am an incarnation of the lightning element. Zeus rules the lightning in the heavens above, but I wish to usurp his presence for my own.”
“So, there is also dissention in the heavens, I see.” Lucifer replied.
Lightning crackled at the foot of the Lightning Revenant, and Lucifer was pleased. Another mighty warrior by his side is more than welcome.
“My lightning strike is yours to command, Destroyer of Worlds.”
“The heavens will be yours once we have conquered this World, Revenant. Go join my Elites, and show us the powers of Lightning.” Lucifer ordered.
The Revenant bowed and prepared to join the slaughter in the streets.
