The fight was magnificent in the true sense of the word! After all these were warriors who grew up with each other and knew everyone well enough to fight dirty if need be. The Well of Eternity was the battle ground here but there was nothing eternal about the present atmosphere. If by a chance you happen to see it somehow dear reader, I hope you have courage enough to bear the misery befalling that particular day.

One has heard enough of siblings fighting in real life but what of clashes between a clan itself? The fight was fierce; with spells and magic filling the very earth and sky! Then suddenly something happened that no one had expected, the well was swirling. Surely this had not happened before?

As everyone paused fighting to watch, they saw a vortex appear in the waters of the Well of Eternity. This was to be the end of everyone there if they stayed back but one of the sides quickly fleed the place though it hurt them badly to know their beloved source of sustenance itself was imploding this very minute.

Not so the other group! For them the well was the source of all their power, their magic which they cherished beyond anything else in life- perhaps more than life itself as all of them stayed there focusing their magic trying to stabilize the well. Alas, it was not to be.The unstable vortex finally imploded and chaos erupted. The very ground broke apart as everyone got swept down into parts unknown by the water. All that could be heard was this:-

" By Azshara We Will Return !"

Well this is a fan-fic story I wanna write on the Naga race.. Its just started, hopefully you will understand more as the story continues..

@bogart: Really? Hey thats how I always write man, so never gave a thought to tough grammar or language.. Lets see what I can do about it

Chapter 1

--------------------10,000 years later---------------------

"Sir the sentinels send an owl with a message. They need our help. Its the Naga again." Said a Druid of the Talon to their grandfather, he was the oldest and wisest druid and was now the Keeper of the Groves. I speak of Malfurion Stormrage, my reader, and he was not one to be surprised at anything the world had to offer to him anymore. Some may say its a good thing to be ready for anything but if I know Furion, he would rather have never experienced the Naga at all!

"Very well", Furion said, "Send a battalion of the Druids of the talon and you go along with them as their eye in the sky".

"It shall be done, my lord." And saying so, the Druid of the talon changed into his Crow form and went to alert the others. They had to move swiftly to reach the sentinels but when they did, it was fair to say the battle was over: Such cowardly attacks were happening with alarming regularity now and the Naga fled whenever reinforcements arrived.

Furion meanwhile was "seeing" the battle with the aid of the wisps. The scene was no different from the skirmishes the last few days: 4 sentinel archers, 3 huntresses and 1 warden (For now no party left without a warden) were ambushed by a horde of Naga sirens and Myrmidions.. But wait, what was that leading them? This was new! It was just like a Myrmidion in shape; only larger and more imposing with a green skin compared to the usual blue. This was not good: It was a Naga Royal Guard. This would still be no match for the Druids but the fact that the Naga were getting more and more confident with time greatly troubled Furion.

There! The druids had arrived and as predicted, the battle was over. The Naga were either routed or fled the scene. All that was left was escorting the sentinels back to their base so Furion broke away from the sight and decided to take some rest. He was just turning when two young Dryads caught his eye. He couldnt help smile, they were of the innocent age where everything was curious to them.

"Come my children, what is new today?" Asked Furion hoping to distract his mind from the battle. It was not to be!

"Sire we were wondering why do the Naga fight us so much? What have we done to them? We dont even come close to their seas but they continue to attack us.. Why is it so?" The question was asked out of pure innocence but Furion nonetheless feeling a tightening in the pit of his stomach. Well they had to know someday, it better be from him than anyone else..

"Gather around my children, for I shall tell you all I know. It is a sad tale howsoever it is told, for the truth is seldom to one's liking" Furion gave a long sigh and started the tale..

Thanks! Here is the next chapter but I gotta say I have taken reference from the Warcraft manual:-

Chapter 2

Furion began his story narration:

10,000 years ago in the dark continent of Kalimdor there was at the centre a pool of water. This was no ordinary water as we quickly found out! This pool which would later be known as the Well of Eternity was a source of magic on an unimaginable scale; in fact lore has it that its energy supported life on the world- the reason for life to exist in such incredibly diverse forms.

Cenarius told me about the early Kaldorei who ventured into the forests nearby the pool and founded their society. They went from being wanderers to a stable society but they never fully could separate their relative comfort of the night. Gradually they developed and they were our forefathers- The Night Elves. Early tribes took to worshipping nature, the Kaldorei being nocturnal took to worshipping the most dominant creature in the night- The Moon. Of course it eventually became the great moon goddess Elune to whom we still bear total respect, some more than others (Furion couldnt help think of his love- Tyrande Whisperwind).

The Kaldorei thus formed partnership with all creatures of the wild and that was how they got the love of Cenarius (Bless his soul). Ah, my children I wish you were there to see the glory of the past days- The temples we built, the libraries, and the roads..

"That sounds wonderful, sir! But we have heard all this before.. Begging pardon but what has this to do with the Naga?" The Dryads were impatient, as most youngsters are.

"Ha ha.. Patience my young ones, a warrior must appreciate all minor details for it is these that eventually lead to the big changes that even the lowest of scum remembers" Furion remarked and continued as if no interruption had ever occurred..

Of all the structures built, none was and ever shall be as magnificent as the Palace- Built right at the Well's shore. If only I knew what effect that was gonna have... sigh... Well no amount of blaming changes anything does it? Oh here I go again talking in description on things you clearly arent interested in! No you need not hide your yawns, I am clearly suffering from the Old Man Syndrome.. Ho Ho.. Where was I again?

Oh yes, the palace at the shores of the Well. Surely you have heard of Queen Azshara have you not? She was our High Queen and had a circle of servitors whom she called the Quel'dorei or the "high-borne"; these took every whim of the queen as an order and considered themselves superior to everyone else.

Ahh, Dinner is served! Come, join me children, we shall continue the tale after refreshments.." Saying so, Furion stopped for now..
