Nice work, Flodian, really cleared a lotta things up for me...
but here's a question:

is there a value of 'c' for 100% chance?
The new item coming up in 6.60 called "poor man's shield", says that it gives a 100% chance of blocking 25 (or 30, i dont remember) damage...

will that translate to a literal 100% 25-damage block? meaning a creep who has, say 19-23 damage, can't ever deal any damage to a hero carrying a poor man's shield?

Edited:
okay - actual item description clears everything up... i asked my question when i'd read people conjecturing before the actual release.

I dont understand the calculations, so in short does this mean that the more hits you did without crits, the more % chance there is to crit the next hit?

I don't think it's all that important personally. As you said, blizzard made it so you never not crit, and never always crit, so imo, it doesn't really matter. Sometimes you crit and sometimes you don't.

Thanks. Very Happy

It's not being serious... its simply something to help you get better. That's all, and it isn't that complicated... really... the bare bones of it anyways.

How long does it take for the crit percentage to erase and start over from your last attack to your next? Thats my only question.

LOL. This subject reminds me of the "infinite monkeys theorem." Look it up...good stuff.

I looked it up and finally get the joke from The Simpsons episode "Last Exit to Springfield," first aired on 3/11/1993, Mr Burns states "This is a thousand monkeys working at a thousand typewriters. Soon they'll have written the greatest novel known to man. Lets see. It was the best of times, it was the "blurst" of times! You stupid monkey!"

Classic Hysterical

On topic; Flo you are a genius. I always wondered why I never see 10 crits in a row.

Its quite interesting. Since like you said the logic is just lame. its like you have 10% to bash with troll. And the computer would generate numbers from 1-100 and if its 10 or under you get a bash... Thanks to blizzard for making the Pseudo random distribution, and Flo for sharing it with us.

The moment you crit, the counter resets.

My boss used to say "touch wood" every time he spoke of his good fortunes, and then he would rap his knuckles on a piece of solid wood furniture. (Treants in this case)

So give a creep a hit or two and if u get no crits the counter wont reset and you'll carry a little luck with you.

Is this the idea?

and i thought like, if its 25% than you need 4 attacks to one proc, and with this math i assumed i could permabash with magina and AC + hyperstone.
in fact you can do it, but its not like after 4 attacks 1 bash, it all fits now LoL
also explains how counter helix procs so much, it is annoiyng!
