Nice point but orb effects change the the type of your attack. This is the way
of orb effect used in warcraft. For example moonfang's moon glaive ability changes her attack type and another orb effect item do not stack. this is completely clear.But there is a problem witn lifesteal items .any Lifesteal item can be used with moon glaive and split shot This is my problem n we can talk this (=

Wow what a great post. But honestly I don't understand most of it... I wish there was a non-coders way of explaining this.

Special notes on ranged:
Cold Attack isn't really an orb effect on ranged units, it only adds a debuff on hit to your attack, and as WC3 is coded, each attack may only place one debuff each attack. This leads to some special cases with Cold Attack on ranged:

Feedback and Cold Attack: If the target has mana, feedback will take effect. Otherwise, Cold Attack will take effect.
Chain Lightning and Cold Attack: If Chain Lightning activates, Chain Lightning will take effect. If Chain Lightning doesn't activate, Cold Attack will take effect.
Maim and Cold Attack: If Maim activates, Maim will take effect. If Maim doesn't activate, Cold Attack will take effect.

and also, if you had lighting, maim, frost attack on a ranged hero, what would happen to his attack!
