Fellow metal loving DS members!
There are music threads open on the forum, but i believe in metal's right to stand alone!
The reason i'm opening this thread is because, as metal heads, we can learn SO much from each others musical influences and favorite artists, and genres within metal.
So this thread aims to: Introduce metal lovers to new bands mainly. And this is because, in this age of bubblegum pop and artists like Daughtry, Pink, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Simple Plan and the like calling their music "rock"; we need to make sure of our identity.
So if you are a fan on any above mentioned bands/artists, hit the backspace key now...

As a start i will share with you the artists i am currently enjoying!

Demon Hunter, Atreyu, Cancer Bats, Slipknot's new album, All that Remains, Bullet for my Valentine, Killswitch Engage.

As im sure is the same for all of you, my mp3 player is constantly getting formatted and reloaded with new music.
So please follow suit, and post your current bands so we may all have the chance to discover a new sound!

LoLwut finally a thread where i can share everything in Heavy Metal. LoLwut i started loving heavy metal when i was just a little kid. I also love those old school rock.

Well, Finntroll is the best atm, then there are Other bands like Metallica and Iron Maiden, statovarius, nirvana, some of led zeppelins; just a few and apocalyptica

and some random stuff.'

Listened to the old stuff like sabbath, zeppelin, Hendrix, iron maiden, metallica, etc...
Listened to grunge also like nirvana, pearl jam, stone temple pilots, smashing pumpkins etc...
Liked some new stuff like killswitch, Trivium, Korn, coheed etc.....

All time favorites are tool and rage against the machine.

Woot! I didn't expect such a response!
nice.
Ass kick are you saying Bullet is not metal?
It may not be Death metal but it is metal. thats why i specifically mentioned the different genres within the metal genre.
But of course all opinions will differ so no worries, no hurt feelings!
Ima go check out Finntroll, never heard them!

@myndfreak yea Trivium is also awesome.
On the more older-school type tip, i dig Dragonforce! SEXIEST GUITAR I HAVE EVER HEARD.
Lol u should see "Fury on the Storm" for Frets on Fire
its imba!

A couple spammers but im happy with the response so far!

It has totally raped my mynd, since EVERY GOD DAMN EMO kid in my school listens to it. Omg I hate them all...

I've personally never listened it too much, but I do hear when the others are. Their fault I don't like it.

Dragonforce sucks. They can't play live, their lyrics are gay and their vocalist is gay. The only good thing about them is Herman Li(lead guitarist), he should ditch them and join a REAL power metal band.

Uh huh, yea unfortunately emo's ruin any band's chances of me enjoying them if they latch onto it and claim their music "speaks to them" or w/e...

But dude, if you are into the MUSIC more than anything, give Bullet a listen. Like me, i love listening to songs over and over and make sure i hear what the drummer does when the guitarist does this, and the 2nd guitarist plays a counter melody when they go into the chorus, that kind of thing. I LOVE THAT.
I dissect songs, and then decide if i like them or not.
If i hear any of that four chord punk rock influence, im sorry it goes in the trash. Well actually, the recycle bin... pirates rule
