having problems with animations

This problem has just recently started but lately i can't see a number of spell animations. Things like dragon knights fire breath, sand kings burrowstrike (his spikes), and sandstorm sand. it normallly works on my laptop but for some reason i can't see almost any spell animations.

can anyone help?

Start game -> Options -> Video -> Spell animation - High
If that doesn't work put everything on high.

Ive got a similar problem.. I cant see lycan. I mean i can see a little glowy aura and eyes but nothing else.. no body or anything. And its only for lycan that too! Everything else works fine.. Anyone know why?

I see this in some shops too. The purple wisp guy is lycan. Not sure why tho. Maybe its the graphics card.

mine sometimes does that. when razor uses plasma field and i turn the camera away from him, the plasma field disappears, but we still take the damage. all i can see is sparks when the plasma field "collides" with the unit.

everything's on high, highest resolution, 1.24b version and my video card is nvidia geforce 9500gt

Try turning off your firewall or non-critical software running in the background. I saw an earlier bug where someone had some obscure firewall (kaspersky, I think) that turned bodies invisible, but weapons were still visible.

Shiva's and plasma field have buggy animations. It's a part of video gaming.

For the other problems, a graphics card upgrade would help probably. Dota and WCIII in general is pretty resource intensive in terms of CPU and stuff.

probably overheated computer component maybe CPU or even possibly the graphic card...
