You are not able to spam lightning just by getting stats early..you need regen items.
The item build is outdated now..Build 2 is now the more viable option since build one does not give any mana regen, or any aspd in which since she is an agi char should be maximised...but build 1 is really tanky and NO agi items at all..tsk tsk medusa's standard aspd is terrible..
But I do like skadi,mjonir,linkens combo..deadly

Because you are not going to spam lightning... You will only use it to harass, and LATER to farm... Plus, using chain lightning before level 5 at least is wasting mana... That little damage will tickle heroes, and unless you're paired with another nuker harasser it won't be worth it...
Make good use of your mana pool and you will not need to stack yourself with regen items... A RoB might be good though...

i would go spell shield first,then chain,..

with RoB and Void stone in the early game she couldn't be killed fast,...

Its outdated sure but it still works. Disagree with some parts but the overall tactics is correct and the main deciding factor.
