Sentinel Within-the Bounty Hunter
Posted on Wed May 13, 2009 6:19 amChapter 1 the Framed
"All evidence have been shown and the defendant has no witness nor prove that denies the crime that was made."
"Majority of votes were, I'm sorry to say guilty."
"Before we make the decision final, do you the defendant have anything to say?"
"I didn't do it"
That was he could say, before the guards forcefully brought him to the Sentinel's high security dungeon to be forever imprison for the crime that he was frame for.
Once the most respected and noble, the most loyal to the Sentinel, was left to rot in a cell where hope shall be erased with the darkness that surrounds.
"Darkness,"
"Comeplete darkness."
His eyes were useless to him, his instincts were the only thing he could rely on to, escape and be forever accuse as a traitor.
"No, my loyalty will never waver, my heart will stay true."
Then a voice, changing the fact that he was alone.
He recognizes that voice; it was an ogre's tongue, Alchemist.
"They don't believe you anymore, none do, why would you still stay loyal, I know it won't take long till you finally change."
"You should know better than to challenge my loyalty,"
"They framed you for killing, they didn't trust you from the start, from the time you came back from being the "rat" in the Scourge. Furion did not die in your hand, most likely one of the Scourge's doing."
"It would still take more than that to ever brake me down, I have been through things worst than hell itself, tortured to the my very soul, bone broken to pieces once, but never my loyalty.
"Gondar, you still haven't change a bit, your stubborn soul is still there."

Not bad for a first chapter. This could become something worthwhile to read if continued, and the only mistakes I found were that you have some typos, and you made a mistake while changing the font of the title of the chapter.

Chapter 2 Truth?
"The darkness"
"I used to learn that darkness is only the absence of light, there is actually no such thing as darkness,"
"All that change when I went to the Scourge, they truly have darkness, even in the presence of light, cold and black, one of the Scourge's most feared weapon."
"I think you really are cracked up, are you?"
"It happens when you get thrown back into the darkness after spending quite a while in it before," replied Gondar.
"So, who did it?"
"A weird question, I assume you are asking towards the assination of the Prophet"
"You know don't you? Then why didn't you brought it up during the trial,"
"Motred, I deserved some of this punishment after..."
"You broke one of the most powerful, most feared, strongest....."
"Heart, I had too, loyalty comes above everything, I guess the news spread further than I thought,"
"You think that the rage of Motred wouldn't be heard by the Sentinel? All of her sadness turned into pure chaos but nevertheless we won a lot more skirmishes cause of your doing."
Gondar, wanting to make a quick reply, hesitated, stuck at the thought of the consequences of his past action. The guilt toke over his confident.
"Why couldn't you stop her?”, finally bringing Gondar to his senses.
"I don’t know, I couldn't even have protected Furion from her, she evaded all my shurikens, my blades and all of my weapons, not even my tracking skills could have prevented what had happen."
“Interesting, I thought the great and famous bounty hunter could have defeated the phantom assassin with great ease, almost impossible for you of all people to lose,”
As with this question, the alchemist started creating a scenario of the battle in his head. A few minutes passed, then came his disbelieve. “Impossible! There was no way Motred could have outmatch you when you faced her,”
“What is the use of living in the past and rethinking one’s defeat when the present is right in front, it does not matter why I couldn’t save Furion, Razzil, No one in the sentinel could change that,”
After exchanging thoughts with his cell partner, Gondar finally had the silence to think of the changes that shall occur upon the death of Furion. Furion, the only one that retook him back, after spending countless years serving as a spy for the Sentinel in the Scourge, suffering at the hands of the undead, when everyone else saw Gondar as nothing but a coward running back to the Sentinel when the Scourge was at its weakest.
With the unavoidable guilt slowly but agonizing seeps into the bounty hunter, he fell into his dreamless and nightmare-filled sleeps.
The lights went on, the cell was bright, questions pilling up inside the bounty hunter’s head, only to see the alchemist lazily getting up for dinner. From one of the walls of the cell came two trays, both with reasonable and eatable food. A clear view of what the cell really looked like.
“Not surprised that the dirtiest cell in the Sentinel is as clean as the cleanest cell in the Scourge, so they light up the place during meal time?” asked Gondar.
“Yes”
Weird, Razzil’s voice almost sounded like….
“Hi Gondar” said the phantom assassin.
End of chapter 2
Please help me recommend this fan fiction to others. The next chapter should come soon, the action starts at chapter 3.

Chapter 3 Facing Motred
The huge sky-blue ogre was down on the grey and dull floor, a seemingly harmless dagger right at his throat, still alive, still able to see and hear, but unable to move, doesn’t take a genius to guess who s dagger was it.
“I guess your not here only to see me?” said Gondar, trying to make a joke.
“Far worst, though I’m still surprise your still here, you could escape anytime you wanted to, doubt any of the guards could stop you,” replied Motred.
“I’m sorry, truly, I didn’t meant to hurt you, it was for the Sentinel,”
“I’m sorry too,”
That was all that was said, before Motred revealing her fan of blades, swiftly running across the cell to end what’s left of the bounty hunter.
“She was fast, almost invisible even in the light, dangerous combination,” thought Gondar.
The fan of blade came near, really near to Gondar’s neck, but the experienced bounty hunter evaded it, then he threw useless punches to the phantom assassin, how he needed his blades, a huge disadvantage without them.
It was hard, almost impossible, evading attacks then would kill him in a strike and trying to retaliate unarmed. Amazingly he survived, as he was sprinting around the room to avoid Motred’s blades, he started to think, to formulate a plan, he couldn’t keep doing this, time wasn’t with him today. The visibility of his body was the best advantage till now, in this cell where his ability to wind walk was toke away.
The light, this words came in his mind and the tides were all turned.
Quickly, he jumped and flipped the trays of food away from the walls which have a compartment from where the food came, instantly the lights were turn off when the compartment closed. A shutting sound, then the darkness returned. Gaining the advantage of the darkness, he pulled out the dagger from the alchemist’s neck, aiming it at the direction of the sound of the loud and moving blades.
“Sppplllttt”
Gondar had known what this sound meant, spilling blood, Motred’s.
Motred screamed and cursed, the lights suddenly went back up, miraculously, Gondar saw, the injured Motred with her cold stare, they stood eye to eye, not a word came out.
Till Gondar spoke, “You weren’t here to kill me, that wasn’t your reason to be here,”
“Smart and observant, as always, I’ve came to tell you about the Scourge’s plan,”
Gondar froze, unable to say anything as he never expected that.
“The troll shall paint the walls of the conference room with the blood of Zeus.”
As she finished, she disappears from the cell, leaving a confused bounty hunter and a alchemist still stuck on the floor.
End of chapter

Chapter 4 The Climb (lol)
Baffled, stunned, confused, so many phrases, all could not explain what the bounty hunter felt that time.
“Was it a riddle? The troll? Our troll? Who?” thought Gondar.
Though it did not matter, he could not let another general die in the hands of the Scourge by his watch.
“Razzil, an escape plan, now!” said Gondar without hesitating.
As Razzil was trying to stand up while fighting the dagger’s paralyzing poison, he said with his squeaky ogre’s voice, “Thought you never asked, finally going to get out of this futureless place.”
“What? You tried to escape before?”
“Yeah, a couple of times.”
“How many?” asked the bounty hunter immediately.
“About two …… to fifty times.” said Razzil and instantly went silent.
Thoughts were bursting within the bounty hunter’s mind, “Why would Purist put him, a skilled assassin with someone who tried to escape so many times?” Gondar chuckled, so, Purist was helping him all along, he shouldn’t had doubt a student of the prophet.
“So, the escape plans, what would be the best to get out of this cell?”
“Well,” said the alchemist while stretching his humongous body, “First you have to learn about this cell, but not now, is it too dark.” As both of them started to wait for breakfast to arrive where the escape plan shall be shared with the bounty hunter.
Silence, the bounty hunter loved it, it gave him time to think to brainstorm, to plan for his future, the near future. Motred had been always feared for her blades because she knows where to strike, when to strike, how to strike, but she has flaws too and being a spy for so long, Gondar, has known all of them. He could remember every strike she made, recalculate them and counter them, he will be prepared if he ever faced her again.
The compartment opened, revealing their supper, “Now lets get with the plans, first you must know the nature of this cell, it is only a four-wall, one-floor, no ceiling cell.”
“No ceiling, then……”
“Let me finish,” said Razzil impatiently. “From this cell to the corridors of this prison is about 100 feet.”
Gondar felt amazed; he never knew the Sentinel’s high security prison to be so impossible to get out. No wonder there have been no records of escapes.
“When they put you in here, they used teleportation, so you would not know about the 100 feet separating them and you, but in my many escape I have learn many of their guard patrol routine and measurements of cells, corridors, rooms and others.” said Razzil as he stopped to take a chicken wing that looks overcooked. “We have to climb a 100 feet to begin our escape.”
“Wow, it worst than the training I endured back home.” The only time Gondar reveals anything from his mysterious past before the war.
The alchemist used the light to take apart a piece of the floor, where a grabbling hook, rope, a sack of what looks like chemicals is found within the compacted hole.
“It wonders and scares me why you haven’t escape yet,”
After getting out from the smooth walls of the cell to the jagged ad rough walls of the dungeon, they climbed together.
Gondar knew he was out of practice as he climbs; usually he could do 25 feet without breaking even a sweat, but he could feel his body wearing him down while the alchemist climb in a constant pace. “I need this, I’m not as good as I once was.” thought Gondar, motivating him to keep going on, fighting his strained muscle.
20 feet, alchemist was good, he could count how long and how far they have climbed, as Razzil saw how the bounty hunter was losing his pace, he offered to rest at one of the edge that was jagged quite far out. Gondar stubbornly refused, he must not rest, he must at least reach 50 feet before accepting that offer, if that offer comes up again,
A sweat dripped, he could hear it falling, a bounty hunter’s ears are always sensitive, two, three minutes it touched the cell he was once standing on, it was a long way down, afraid, he asked, “Razzil, have you climbed all the way to the top before?”
“Yeah, almost in every single one of my ingenious plans.”
“Have you ever fallen off while climbing?”
“What, are you afraid? The great bounty hunter afraid? Afraid of what a low-rank alchemist can do with his eyes closed?” teased the alchemist.
Gondar felt insulted, but nonetheless, he was, “So, have you?”
“Yeah, a couple of times, everyone makes mistakes.”
“How you survived?”
“You mean you didn’t notice the cracks on our cell floor?”
“What?! You just fell, cracked the floor, most likely breaking all your bones and live to tell the tale.”
“When you are as bulk at me, falling 75.67 feet doesn’t leave physical scars, only emotional scars that turn into phobias.”
60 feet, it was getting dark, like in the cell, it was getting hard to grab the edges properly, the last ten feet still had a little light, but now it’s reaching the point where I would only fall if I continued. “Razzil, Razzil,” said Gondar while panting, “It getting too dark,”
“Oh, sorry, didn’t noticed,” as he grabbed a greenish-yellow stone out from the sack he carried and hit it toward the wall we were climbing on, simultaneously the stone shine in bluish-green color, illuminating the surrounding.
With the sudden light brightening everything, Gondar found that his right hand grabbed a loose stone, if his reflexes were quick enough he could grab another with his left but he fell. He could see the alchemist looking back, with the expression that he couldn’t help him.
He was falling away from the bluish-green light, making it look dimmer. “It couldn’t end this way, to be killed by falling,” the bounty hunter thought. It was said that one’s life would flash before their life before they greeted death. Though Gondar mind was clearly trying to not give up and find a stone to grab on too.
Time seem to slowed in Gondar’s mind, giving him one chance, he reached out his tired hand, hoping to reach the wall, before falling back to the cell where he would cover it with Dranei blood. A grip, he caught it, he survived. Through this, Gondar felt the need to catch up, showing the iron-willed, skilled bounty hunter he was and always will be.
