You know what would REALLY be good? That Rei falls in love with Shinji who is slaughtered by an Angel - and she breaksdown into tears.

No...even better. She has a child and an abortion is carried out against her will....yeah.

I mean given the moe level is off the F-ing scale, she`d be great a girl to see crying....something like:

DISCLAIMER: NGE is a tm of Gainax and other companies. And, if you have something against children dying - do NOT read below this.

(For the time being - let's asume Rei is pregnant with Shiji's child through wierd things concerning the power of the angels that we cannot even begin to comprehend SHE DID NOT HAVE A ONE NIGHT STAND WITH SHINJI WHO REEKS GAY)

Rei's hands slowly fell to abdomen. It felt warm. Even though the child now inside her was barely a few months old, and despite the fact that her belly had barely started to bulge, her heart pounded with excitement everytime her hands grazed that spot in her body.

"You must be excited right?"

Rei turned around to see Misato leaning on thee wall of the corridor. Rei's mind was stumbling to find a reply, "Well....yes."

A light smile formed on Misato's face - "isn't it amazing?"

"What is?", asked Rei, confused by Misato's question.

"The fact that you instinctively love your child - even before its born - even before you can see it for the first time - you, who have hardly known love?"

Misato had caught Rei off guard - in truth Rei had never given it much thought. The life that now existed within her - she knew she wanted it. She knew that it would be the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. She knew it was the most wonderful thing that ever happened to her.

"I...I dont know about... love, but yes, I think I want this child.", Rei knew that Misato was not one to idle about corridors, and added, "but...did you want to see me?"

Misato raised an eyebrow in suprise, "How'd you guess? Your wanted at the Infirmary. I think they want to check on your progress. I'l be going then"

With that Misato promptly turned around and headed in the other direction. Leaving Rei alone once again. Suddenly a voice sounded from behind her "Hmph...I wonder what the deal is...? Howcome everyone's getting worked up over a small thing like that?"

Even without turning around, Rei knew that the voice could only be that of Asuka. Knowing further arguement was useless, Rei left for the infirmary without uttering a word.

Once she was gone, Asuka looked down at her feet. Uncousciously, her hand slided to her own belly. "I wonder if.....I could have had a child..." she muttered under her breath.

(Much later in the infirmary)

Akagi placed a small cotton bud after taking off the syringe, "You'll probably feel a bit light headed for a while. Hold that bud there."

All of a sudden, a wave of drowsiness came upon her. "I feel a bit......" was all she could mutter below lossing consciousness.

Akagi's lips curled into a smile.

(Much much later)

"Annn.." Rei had finally begun to awaken. Her head was still spining wildly, through her half opened eyes, she could see Akagi - as well as Gendou looking down at her beside the bed on which she lay. Her memory was still quite unclear but she vaguely remembered fainting after a regular shot of medicine.

Her hands once again came to rest on her abdomen - immediately she knew something was wrong. The bulge that had been there before was now gone. Her heart started pounding - but with fear. The warm feeling from before was gone. "What -"

"The baby is gone now Rei." There was no emotion in Akagi's voice. And gendou picked up where she left off, "you know why you are here - something like that would only be a distraction to our cause. I know that you will understand why."

Rei's eyes widened in shock and then her face became contorted with rage. How had they dared to make such a descision on their own?

"No." Her voice was shaking with rage, and pain unlike she had ever known was ripping her heart apart. "I dont understand. I dont understand why..." Tepid tears began running down her cheeks and onto the white bed-sheet. For the first time in her life Rei knew why she was crying - she knew why her heart ached the way it did - the life she had had inside her was gone. She was empty.

Not that she had not been empty before, but to have experienced what it was like to bear a child in her body - then lose it; it was unbearable.

"I....I wa-wanted", constant sobs broke her pained voice. Her body was being broken apart by agony and her mind could think of nothing else than what she had lost. "Wa-wanted....I WANTED IT!"

"Rei..." Gendou began to say something - but what did he know? Rei began to hate those cold eyes hiddin behind the tinted glasses.

"I WANTED IT!!"

Rei bent over, her hands clasping herself around her belly, and started crying in earnest. "I wanted it....so badly." Her body started shaking due to her violent sobbing.

See what I mean? And yes, it seems I DO have a fetish for crying girls.

Anyways, I bought Kunoichi figurines of Rei and Asuka for 35 dollars each today... EVA FTW!
