What is lethal damage?

What is lethal damage?

Hello again,I have a question.In Vanguard or the Rigwarls bristleback skill,there is a note that writes the does not reduce lethal damage.Well,what is lethal damage exactly,a damage that will kill you just one hit or something else?And is lethal damage contains magic damage?

Lethal damage = any damage that will kill a hero.

is lethal damage like Anubarak's Vendetta damage or deadly spell damage like Lion's Finger of Death?

Yes, any form of damage whatsoever that would be able to kill you is considered as lethal damage.

It'd be a bit imba if Vanguard can save you from dying if you're on 1 HP and a creep attacks you...

Simply put, it's damage that is higher than your current hit points.

w8, there are damage higher than your hp but it doest kill you...

The damage you receive, not damage dealt.

1] You are Rigwarl with 50 HP and 50% reduction.
2] The enemy DEALS 60 damage at your back.
3] After armor reduction and other factors, you RECEIVE 30+ damage. The damage is NOT lethal, so your third skill kicks in.

But if your enemy deals let's say, 150 damage, after reduction it will deal 75 damage. it is lethal, so your skill will not activate.

Basically, Rigwarl's third skill computes the damage you take then HEALS you the percentage of the damage.

You can't heal yourself when you are already dead.

I'll try to explain:

Rigwarl has 1 hitpoint left. Lion casts Finger of Death with 850 damage. Rigwarl's Bristleback will NOT activate because it is lethal damage.

Bristleback will compute the damage dealt on Rigwarl if it's enough to kill him without this passive. If it will, then it will consider the damage lethal, ergo, it will not activate.

Basically, say if you have 50 health and you take 70 of ANY KIND of damage. That is considered leathal damage because you are going to die. So in the end, your bristleback ability or vanguard ability will NOT activate and reduce damage. You will take 70 damage and die.

BUT, if you had 70 health and you take 50 of ANY KIND of damage. That is NOT considered leathal damage because you are NOT going to die. So in the end, your bristleback ability or vanguard ability WILL activate and reduce the 50 damage.

Correct me if i'm wrong please because that's how I know it as.
