Are early game stat items really worth it?

By early game stat items, I mean Bracers, Wraith Bands and Null Talismans. What's bothering me is their worth. Sure it may be ok in early game but you'd just sell them later on.

I realize that early game is the phase for last hitting and farming up as much gold as you can for good items but isn't getting these types of items a waste?

Let's do a little price calculation to show what I mean:

Bracers:
- Gauntlets of Strength (150)
- Circlet of Nobility (185)
- Bracer Recipe (175)
Total = 510

That's half a thousand gold off your earnings.

And since only the recipe differs in price, (Wraith being 125, and Null being 150) Wraiths are worth 460 and Nulls are worth 485. Thing is, you don't usually buy just one of these. Some take two or spam it up even more.

With that kind of money, you could go straight for a Blade of Alacrity or something similar to its price of 1000 gold.

Sure they give you the stats that really help in early game but I'd rather get 5 GG branches for a lower 285 gold. The only sacrifice is item slots but its early game which means you don't have that many items just yet.

And so the questions stands: Are early game stat items really worth it?

I agree with you in some points..

At times I just go for items that I would later upgrade..

It would be very nice if those stat items would have later upgrades

I think they are worth it since early game you would need those stats..

because 2 bracers can last all the way to late game or to end game if u r not farming. the 12 6 6 stat is really very worth for the price. very useful for survival in early game, before u even get fat.

Yup. They're totally worth it. Just like what sfsy1 said, survival in early game. It also helps to make last hitting easier.

so it gives +12 to all stats??

Note: Stat items aren't just for last hitting.
For the sake of comparison, imagine two identical heroes. One of them has nothing and is saving up for a big item, the other has a bunch of stat items. They fight. Who has to go run away and heal?

i like wyrm's idea xD
but yeah i think they are plenty worth it and the most on image heros like pl;
i usually spam wraiths on him since images only benefit for stats
and depending on who i am facing i will get manta
or eye of skadi if my images need to last longer

i think that they are worth it, well getting 2 of either

this is because when i have had 2 bracers i have escaped so many times with less than 100 health and the bracers saved my life

if i didn't have them i woulda died and have nothing to show for it

there is a correction between the prices of wraith and null.
@topic..
they really are worth. especially if u are earning for a very very high tier item like bfly, HoT, EoS, etc.
of course, it's not easy to hold that big amount of gold, you'll get ganked if they know u are farming, and u may not avoid death...
so at least get yourself stat boosters to increase your survivability and farming capabilities so that farming your cores wouldn't be that difficult.

i'd rather buy gg branches than bracers sometimes...

but yeah it's worth it.

i think they are, because i dont need many items and i usually play support heros... so i just mass bracers, bottle maybe, boots, tp, wards/dust or whatever. easy as pie.

A few nulls or bracers on support heroes is really good.
Those stats help a lot and you shouldn't be farming all that much gold.
