- DotA stands for Defence of the Ancient
- It is map of Warcraft III The Frozen Throne

2 Units
2.1 Heroes
- Hero is the only unit that player control in this game. (Much different than the original Warcraft Game of which we should control a lot of army and more than 1 hero).
- Up till now (DotA 6.41) There are over 82 heroes available to be chosen.
- Divided into 2 great lines :
1 range hero ( from 350 – 770 range )
2 melee hero ( from 100 – 150 range )
2.1.1 Attack type
- Hero has “hero” attack type.
- Complete attack types in DotA:
1 Chaos
2 Hero
3 Piercing
4 Normal
5 Siege
2.1.2 Armor
- Hero has “hero” armor type
- Complete armor types in DotA:
1 Fortified
2 Hero
3 Light
4 Medium
5 Heavy
6 Unarmor
2.1.3 Attributes
There are 3 types of attribute of the Heroes:
Strength
- Each point increase HP by 19
- Each point increase HP regeneration by 0.03
- Each point increase damage ( Str type only)
Agility
- Evere 7 point increase armor by 1
- Each point increase IAS 1%
- Each point increase damage ( Agi type only)
Intelligence
- Each point increase MP by 13
- Each point increase HP regeneration by 0.04
- Each point increase damage ( Int type only)
2.1.4 Skills
There are 5 skills available for every hero ( Both active and passive )
Skill 1 – normal skill ( Improve heroes ability ) [ 4 lv upgrade available ]
Skill 2 – normal skill ( Improve heroes ability ) [ 4 lv upgrade available ]
Skill 3 – normal skill ( Improve heroes ability ) [ 4 lv upgrade available ]
Skill 4 – ultimate skill ( Usually most powerful or useful skills ) [ 3 lv upgrade available ]
Skill 5 – Status addition ( Give 2 to all stat every taken ) [ 10 lv upgrade available ]
Active skill :
Have to be activated to use it. Have cool down and require mana.
Passive Skill :
Once it is taken, it will give its effect as long as the hero alive. It doesn’t have cooldown and doesn’t need mana usually. ( Exception: eg. King Leorik’ Reincarnation, etc. )
2.1.5 Level
- Every hero is able to reach maximal lv 25
- Level up is gained from experience.
- Experience is gained whenever there are non-allied unit die within 800 AoE
2.1.6 Dead Hero
- You will be revived at your base when you are killed in a certain time.
- Need ( 4 x your hero level) seconds to revive.
2.2 Creeps
- Every non-hero unit is called creeps.
2.2.1 Sentinel / Scourge Creeps
- Creeps that spawned by Sentinel / Scourge building producer
- They are spawned every 30 secs
- They are upgraded every 7.5 minutes
- They have has max level at 30 (Mega Creep)
- They have bigger collision size when upgraded.
2.2.2 Neutral creeps
- Creeps that are produced in certain place at the forest.
2.2.3 Super Creeps
- Creeps that are only spawned if you type : “-sc”
- Consist of three units ( Scary Fish, Golem, and Ancient Hydra ), which will be spawned randomly every certain time.
2.3 Summoned Units
- Unit that are appear or exist because of being summoned by hero.
- Usually have certain time of life ( Will instantly die when the time expired)
3 Items
- Everything that can be ‘carried’ by a hero
- Usually they are have to be bought or sometimes dropped by neutral creep (Roshan) or hero ( droppable item ) or ( in item drop mode )
-Consist of :
1 Active items
Have to be activated to use it. Have cool down and require mana.
2 Passive Items
Once it is taken, it will give its effect as long as the hero alive. It doesn’t have cooldown
- Can be bought at your each base / the enemy base or secret dealer ( left below river / right upper river )
- Can be sold at your each base / secret dealer for half price except recipe scroll.
3.1 Single Items
- Item that can’t be combined.
3.2 Upgraded Items
- Item that created with combining certain other items or sometimes using recipe scroll.
3.3 Consumable Item
- Item that can be used.
- Item disappear after being used
3.4 Undropable Item
- Item that can NOT be dropped once it’s purchased
3.5 Cool down Item
- Item that has cool down to use.
- It also requires mana to use.
- When in cool down, it’s UNDROPABLE
3.6 Disassemble Item
- Item that can be disassembled in your each own circle of power near the taverns.
4 Buildings
- There are some structures in DotA.
- Consist of :
1 normal structure : structure that can be attacked.
2 invulnerable structure : structure that can NOT be attacked.
4.1 Main Building
- Building that make you lose once it is destroyed.
- World Tree ( Sentinel) or Frozen Throne ( Scourge )
4.2 Well of Life
- Structure that greatly heal your HP and MP.
- Can also attack the enemy at tremendous attack speed and damage.
- Has 50,000 hp but no regeneration
- Has 800 range
- Chaos damage ( 190 – 199 )
4.3 Creeps Producer
- Buildings that are producing creeps.
- There are two buildings at each 3 lane.
- One produce melees creep while the other produce range creeps.
- If yours are being destroyed, the enemy’s creep will become stronger
- If all of yours are being destroyed, the enemy’s creep will become Mega Creep.
4.4 Towers
- Structure that are attack the enemy to defend your ancient.
- There are 3 towers ( Lv1, Lv2, and Lv3) in each lane.
- And 2 towers protecting your main building. ( Lv4)
4.5 Other Buildings
- Other Structures have no special use.
5 Etcetera
- Other part of DotA needed to know.
5.1 Rune
- Exist either in left river or in the right one.
- Complete type of runes:
1 blue - double damage - multiple your primary damage twice.
2 green - regeneration - give you high HP and MP regeneration. (Dispel on attack)
3 yellow - illusion - create a copy of your image for a certain time.
4 red - haste - give your hero max ms ( 522 ) for a certain time.
5 purple - invisibility - give your hero invisibility during certain time (Dispel when attack / cast spell / being attacked )
5.2 Time
- There are night and day which affect heroes sight and some hero’s ability.
5.3 Gold
- You will get 8 gold every 8 secs.
- You will get gold from succeeding killing a unit.
- You will get bonus gold when your ally destroy the enemy’s tower
- You will get bonus gold if your ally non-hero unit kill the enemy hero.
- You will get bonus gold if you have certain skill.
- You will get bonus gold if you have certain item.
- You will get bonus gold if Roshan is killed by ally units.
- You will get bonus gold if you kill the enemy hero who has had high status. ( The higher the status ( killing spree / Godlike / etc ), the more gold bonus will be received )
- You will get bonus gold ( 200 ) if kill the enemy hero for the first time ( first blood )
- You will lost gold when being killed. ( Except under certain skill )
5.4 Abbreviation
IAS = Increase Attack Speed
Ms = Movement speed
Aspd = Attack Speed
AoE = Area of Effect
5.5 Status
The first killer in the game : First Blood
Having killed 3 heroes without dead : Killing Spree
Having killed 4 heroes without dead : Dominating
Having killed 5 heroes without dead : Mega Kill
Having killed 6 heroes without dead : Unstopable
Having killed 7 heroes without dead : Whicked Sick
Having killed 8 heroes without dead : Monster Kill
Having killed 9 heroes without dead : Godlike
Having killed >9 heroes without dead : Beyond Godlike
Killing 2 heroes within +/- 5 secs each other : Double Kill
Killing 3 heroes within +/- 5 secs each other : Triple Kill
Killing 4 heroes within +/- 5 secs each other : Triple Kill
Killing 5 heroes within +/- 5 secs each other : Triple Kill
You lost the status if you are killed by the enemy units.
You WILL NOT lost the status if you are killed by team mates / neutral creeps.

I think Damage should be changed to Attack Type.
Damage Type and Attack Type are two different things.

It's around .1-.9 second attack rate as I remembered.

You should also add that runes and neutral creeps spawn every two minute mark.

Nice work.
Add more about the range of gold you get or lose when killing enemy hero or your hero dies?
Also killing spree, dominating etc and double kill triple kill infos?
