Necromancers using search tool ^_^
Posted on Fri Jun 26, 2009 12:14 amWell i was thinking and u should not warn them or do anything about reviving old threads since they use search tool right?
If they just posted same topic some of us or u mods would just give them link and said topic exist dont spam.. but some get warnings i think for reviving..
So whats the deal? xP whats bad about necroing? we are not happy when they use serach tool and tell them to not revive old topics.. and we are not happy also when they post new existing topics and tell them to use search tool and give them old links.. O_O
your thoughts?

if all are told to just use the search tool then no other point of view will be offered but that in the original thread (which might be kinda useless)
so imo i think it is a must for the forums to stay very active, even with revived or existing threads, with more new people coming to DS
and really rather than just awsering a thread then closing it why not bring a bit more discussion to the table that can enrich us all

I see some people reviving threads and I just say "thread revival ftw" and post some things about the topic..
But no one gets a warning..

Well if the thread has nothing to gain from being revived, then why do it? Other than that, there is nothing wrong!

they shouldnt get a warning for revivng old threads imo.
reviving threads means more activeness.

people can't post new topics if there's already an old topic about whatever they want to say, but if the old topic is too old, the can't post in it... so, I don't see anything wrong about it =0

Usually old threads already have answers... So there might be no pont in reviving? But really... I wud rather ppl reviving old threads than ppl making new threads about existing topics!

warnings are given if they revive a topic using a post such as "I agree"
nobody cares if you agree.
anything else is accepted... more a less.
