1 Earn a lot of money

1.1 What’s that ?

Earn a lot of money means search for money as much as you can in order to buy items which is support your hero in game-role.

1.2 How to do that ?

- Farming with ‘last-hit’ mode.
( Let your creeps do the battle with the enemy’s, and then hit the red-hp enemy creeps which you think will be dead in 1 hit )
- Farming neutral creeps.
( Sometime, none of the 3-lane is save enough for you to keep farming, then simply go to the forest and search the neutral creeps. Though it will not give you as much money as farming in a free lane, it will at least better than nothing )
- Purchase Hand of Midas (Glove of Haste (610) + Hand of Midas recipe scroll (1400))
( It seems that Hand of Midas won’t give you such a lot of money. However, it does give you a lot of money! )
Let’s do simple calculation. If you play for 1 hour, and you get Hand of Midas at the first 10 minutes, you can use it for the left 50 minutes. Due to its 90 sec cool-down, you can use it about 33 times. Since it give you money around 150 – 250 gold we can simply calculate : 33 * 200 gold = 6600 gold. You see, besides normal farming, killing hero or destroying the enemy’s building, you get a ‘free’ 6600 gold. And also it increase your asps by 30%!

1.3 How to counter that ?

- Deny the ally red-hp creeps.
( Before being last-hit by the enemy, let your red-hp creeps be denied by yourself so that the enemy will not get the gold and will only get a little experience.)
- Put ward (either observer or sentry) at the place where neutral creeps usually spawn.
( By doing that, 1. if the creeps haven’t spawned yet when you put the ward, they will not spawned for the 7 / 8 minutes ahead, 2. if you put it when they have spawned, after being killed they won’t spawned any longer until the ward time-up.)
(nb: by putting ward, you yourself cannot farming neutral creeps right there, so put it at the enemy’s neutral creeps)


2 Fast leveling up

2.1 What’s that ?

Gain your hero’s experience as fast as possible so that you have higher level skill than the others and by then you are also stronger than the others both attack ability as well as defense.

2.2 How to do that ?

- Keep your hero as long as possible in the lane.
( Means that you will not wasting your experience by going back to fountain and re-back to your lane. To do this, you are suggested to buy: Tango of essifation, Flask of Saphire Water, chicken, etc.)
- Deny your red-hp creeps.
( So that the enemy will not get much exp)
- Harass the enemy’s hero either using normal attack or spell.
( If you successful to harass them out of 800 AoE from the creep’s battle they won’t get the exp at all. However be careful to do this, if you normally attack the enemy heroes too close to their creeps, you will be attacked. So Using spell or ‘animation canceling mode’ are highly recommended. )
- Try to kill the enemy hero.
( Hero’s death give you a lot of exp. And he will also wasting his time in revival, and go back to the lane )

2.3 How to counter that ?

- Kill the enemy creeps before being denied.
( Try to use ‘fast attack animation’ hero or high damage hero to do this. (ie. Kardel, Jah’rakal, etc.)
- Try to hit the enemy who is using Flask or Clarity.
( It will cause them to be dispelled )
- Try to kill the enemy’s chicken.
( By doing so, you will cut their item distribution and force them to go back to the fountain. Yet, don’t too reckless to do this since sometimes the condition is too risky )
- Keep your range.
( Means that place yourself behind your ally creep but do not too far. By doing it, you will be hard to be harassed by the enemy hero )
- Try not to be killed!
( Once you are killed, you will lose so much exp while the enemy gain a lot of it )


3 Back-door

3.1 What’s that ?

Attack the enemy’s building without your ally creeps there. It usually done by strong hero at late game when his base is being attacked. And now this is legal to do based on TDA rules as long as you are not teleporting there.

3.2 How to do that ?

Simply go to the enemy’s building or base either walking in the forest or wind walk. And then after their creep spawn and go, fire the structure. Purchasing Teleport item is recommended to make you easy to go back to your base / fountain.

3.3 How to counter that ?

Always bring ‘teleport item’ so that once you see an enemy is back-dooring , you can simply protect the structure by teleporting there. ( To make the structure have “ +9999999 armor” by using ‘scroll of town portal’, you have to target the structure itself instead of target it through mini map.)


4 Back-stab

4.1 What’s that ?

Same as ambush, attack the enemy hero(s) from the place they don’t suspect. Usually from the forest or river or using fog of war.

4.2 How to do that ?

- Try to go to behind of your enemy which is not reached by tower side and also predicted not able to be seen by the enemy because of the fog of war. Then let your team-mate at that lane know your purpose. Ask him to attack them and when they fall back, you catch them up.
- Try to find lone – hero who is farming in a lane or those who are detected by the ward. Gang them or if you feel strong enough.
( Those are some of so many backstab tactics )

4.3 How to counter that ?

- Put ward at the place that suspicious ( place where can be used by the enemy to back-stab you)
- Always tell your team-mate if the enemy hero(s) that should be in your lane suspiciously missing.
- Keep you always with your friend who has disabler if possible.
- Try not to farming at an ‘empty’ lane alone, except you have escape skill such as blink or wind walk, etc.
- Try not to farming at the enemy’s neutral creeps since that’s strong probability that they are there.
- Try not to go alone when you notice that none of the enemy is exist in the mini map.


5 Kill Steal / KS ( DON’T DO THIS )

5.1 What’s that ?

Kill the enemy hero by last hitting them. Means that you do nothing to that hero while your team-mate fight against them and then you simply cast a magic or last hit when the hero has little hp. It’s very-very suck!!! You will be banned! You will be hated !
The number of killing is not important. The whole victory with team play is important !

5.2 How to do that ?

If you don’t know, better no to know! XD

5.3 How to counter that ?

Warn your team-mate strictly!
And you don’t do that if you don’t want to be done the same.


6 Gang Bang

6.1 What’s that ?

It is an event when most of Sentinel and Scourge heroes fight as a team and try to defeat the enemy as fast as possible by using all their skills.

6.2 How to do that ?

- Gather with your team at one place with all skills ready to use and make sure that all of you have full hp and mp. Usually this is done to destroy tower lv 3 as well as the barracks ( both creep producer structures ).
- When the gang bang done, usually it is initialized by the hero who has strong AoE nuker / who has mass disabler. And then try to kill the most powerful enemy or the most dangerous one ( those whose existence is/are manacing ).
- Use all your spells correctly and DON’T keep it to Kill Steal !! since it can make a difference between win and lose.

6.3 How to counter that ?

- At mid game, when you can’t notice the enemy heroes at the mini map, try not to go alone though you have escaping skill ( wind walk, etc) as you will have been dead when being ganged even before you can cast your skill. And it will cause your team to do 4 vs. 5 battle.
- Try to put ward at as much strategic place as possible. By doing so, you will notice when they are going to gang you / your ally.
- Always bring ‘teleport item’ so that you can go back immediately when your base is attacked. And also scroll of town portal can give the targeted structure invulnerability for 3 seconds.
- If your team feel strong enough, try to have an initiative to began the ‘gang bang’.


7 Creeps Blocking

7.1 What’s that ?

Block your creeps movement so that the will fight the enemy’s creep later when they are nearer to your tower. By doing that, it’s supposed that they will not brave enough to harass you while you can, and also while in our tower area, they will only have very small chance to deny their creeps.

7.2 How to do that ?

¬- Using spell(s).
(Certain spell can be cast-ed to block the creep’s movement. One of them is Earth shaker’s fissure. If you can use it properly, you can delay the creep up to 8 secs.)
- Manually
Walk in front of your creeps with a little zig-zag so that their movement will become disturbed.
- Using neutral creeps
After the first wave, you can block them by joining them with neutral creeps. Means that you have to calculate it first. Attack the neutral creeps nearest to the lane ( For Sentinel-bottom-right / Scourge-top-left / Sentinel-middle-right / Scourge-middle-left ), and make them catch you up. Simply run to the lane where your creeps have reached. When your creeps detect that you are being attacked, the will counter-attack the attacker.

7.3 How to counter that ?

You can do nothing to prevent them blocking their own creeps. The only thing to counter that trick is blocking your own creeps same as them.


8 Teleport canceling

8.1 What’s that ?

Teleport to your structure building to protect it by using the ‘ +99999999 armor’ ability given with scroll of town portal’s casting time, but you don’t really teleport there.

8.2 How to do that ?

Sometimes, you are under condition when some of your friends is dead and your hero and may be some other is still in well of life regenerating their HP/MP. At the same time, your enemy is destroying your tower lv 3 or barrack (creep producer).
Then you simply buy scroll of town portal ( 135 ), and ask your friends who are still alive to do the same. Teleport to the ‘almost being destroyed’ structure one by one. 0.5 sec before you are being teleported, move your hero to cancel it. Imagine, if you only have 2 friends, and 3 with you, you can make the structure invulnerable for almost 9 secs which of course annoying the enemy.
Using its casting time, you and your friend can also healing your selves as well as waiting for the revival one.
Nb: Don’t forget to target the structure directly instead of target it from the mini map !!!

8.3 How to counter that ?

Nothing can be done to counter that. Just do the same while you are under the same case. And of course try to attack the enemy’s structure since although it is being teleported, it has ‘few times’ when changing one to another.

9 Buying back Hero

9.1 What’s that ?

Buying back your hero when on dead.

9.2 How to do that ?

Just click your hero in the tavern.
This is usually done to fake the enemy. When they think you are dead, they will attack your base and sometimes leave 1 of their lane to be attacked by our creps.
You can simply buying back your hero and immediately teleport to the allies unit nearest to the enemy’s base to make sudden attack. ( You must have purchased Boots of Travel )
Buying back hero is also done when you feel sure that you will get “the money to buy” back during the dead time.

9.3 How to counter that ?

Always bring Teleport Items with you wherever you go.


10 Avoiding losing money when being killed

10.1 What’s that ?

The way to avoid losing too much money when you are killed.

10.2 How to do that ?

Sometimes you will know that you will surely be dead within few seconds.
Then simply move your hero to the place where if you are lucky enough, he will be saved. ( Usually Your hero will surely be dead if being chased or getting doom / poison / etc.)
Immediately go to your chicken before your hero die.
Buy as much needed items as possible.
Or buy as much recipe scroll as possible since they have quite high price when sell back.

10.3 How to counter that ?

Kill the enemy as fast as possible.
Kill the chicken ! ^^

i like the farming strat especially with the hand of midas explanation

ambush part:
it got me(my weakness) pretty well..(time to change strategy)

and why do many people kill chicken...(i don't use the chicken on 5 on 5)
for fried chicke?

if i may suggest:

1. under backdoor


in my place its with ally creeps .

2. include gangbang, creep blocking, and creep pulling, lure since you also talked about aome strats/gameplay

3. this should be stikied... :p
