First off, sorry for taking so long to get this up.
we ran into a series of problems (such as my internet) as well as the mysterious disappearance of one of our winners.
fret not, the next 4 released GotM guides are featured this month.

1. first, congratulation for getting 8th place on dotactics 2009. how do you feel about it?

Why thank you. I am very happy that i achived this as i thought it wouldn't go far as my guide didn't have any screenies. 8th overall is still good out of many others that people have put forward it was still a great achivment.

2. tell us how is your experience during your planning and creating of the guide. any problems encountered? is it fun?

Well the exspriance of planning a guide is very fun. I had an idea of even adding a sound clip and a relpay of me playing and showing my guide in a visual form but due to the lack of quality equipment in my house and not being able to extract replays from a lanshop then it really did affect the out come. Creating was sometimes stressful as this site has some minor bugs with the guide creater such as there isn't a save button so i had to keep loading the page so that it will save. Also there isn't a very good amount of tools that work and it isn't very nice to use. Anyway it worked well in the end result and i am very happy and i will say it was VERY fun.

3. thanks for joining dotactics btw. you know that it will be a tough competition as some of the participants are good guidemakers. why did you submit an entry? for challenge? for fun?

I didn't think of going against these people but after I saw that one of the heroes i was writing about was avalible then I thought of entering in. It was mainly to gain more rep. since im big in the forums I thought of hitting the heroes area which was the main reason why I signed up on Dotastrategy.com. Mainly to read the guides.

4. i have read the comments on your guide. most of the readers asks some changes, more stuff, screenies, etc. any plans to update your guide? what do we expect in the future about your raigor guide?

Well as i said previously I will try to finish my voice clip and add some replays and add them to Dotastrategy through a link. Or i could play some games with my home boy Folechno or some folk in the ds.com room in garena. Then ask them to upload onto Dotastrategy. Screenies will come sooner or later again once I get a replay it will be pretty easy. Also i may add an alternate item build since people have been demanding it with Earthshaker gettin nulls instead of bracers and getting other items in different orders.

5. two of the reader's question on your guide are not answered or remained unclear. let me highlight them and ask your answer:
a) why refresher orb an orb item?

As i said in the item build section I said that refresher isn't a core item. Thats why I was stressing which order to put it in. Refresher is only good very late game since it only impacts your ulti and also it costs a lot. Also your mana even with arcaine ring won't support it early game. That is why it is gotten late game. It also works with corpses. For example. Imagine you had a wall. You shout at it. It echos if i'm not mistake right? Well it is like a corpse. Just imagine it big and then shout at it will still echo. So the echo damage will still echo from a corpse. Simple.

b) is raigor a cow?

I think raigor is a cow. He says Quote "Got milk?" This means that hes asking for milk which also makes him a bit of a cow. Also you don't get bulls as their not nice and it reminds me of a discusting drink called RedBull. Now cows make milk which is a much more healthy and tastier drink so I would rather him to be a Cow. Moo.

6. i believe this is your first guide in DS. do we expect more guides from you? to who or what hero would it be?

Yes you surely can. As i said again in the introduction of my guide i said that this was the start of the BadAss series. Where i make guides on the heroes that are basicly BadAss. Then after i will have a Holy series. This is for the heroes that are basicly gonna make you shout Holy. Yes for the BadAss series I'm going to make one on Nerubian Assassain because he really is one BadAss hero. I will discuss different builds and show you the ways of Ganking. For the holy series, I havn't really thought of a hero but Morph or Tinker could be.

7. what can you say about the changes on the new map 6.60? how does it affect you?

I sorta like the new changes and sorta hate it at the same time. For example I hate how some of the skills got changed which made me sad. I liked the buffs like all the illusion heroes for example TB, Spectre, Morph and PL which i like to play a lot. I was disapointed with the way they did the taverns. They have been that way for like years and then he goes and changes it. I wouldn't mind if ice frog made it back to the 6.55 lay out but now its very discusting. Like new items but i hate some things. Worst thing they did to heroes was DP no more ms. I thought this wasn't imba as she isn't that strong and just spams

8. i would ask you to pick one from these:
a) sentinel or neutral or scourge?

...I would have to pick scourge as it has better ganking locations such as top lane you can gank easily. You can hunt easier in the forest and also gank easily at bottem lane. Neutral is lame and i don't play thoese heroes as much and i'm not a often chen player.

b) strength or agility or intelligence?

...I would be agility because even though they aren't all carry heroes they have some decent nukes on some heroes. For example NA. Burst nuker but he's agility. Also I can play carry heroes because most pubbie heroes can't play them.

c) tank or carry or support?

...I would pick carry even though i'm more a ganker agility is mainly carry heroes that have nukes and can also dps a lot.

d) studies or dota or girls?

...obviously girls. I like to smooth talk them with my english voice and say things they want to hear. studies i'm ok and dota i work at but if there's a girl i push her aside for dota but then i make time for her.

e) Eazy-E or Dr.Dre or IceCube or MCRen or DJYella or ArabianPrince?

...i would pick Icecube because he's gangsta. i mean ya they all gangsta but he's the most active recent one so hes cool. wat kinda question is this? well i like nwa which u all should no coz its my name. im also amazed how u no wat nwa is. Who has listened to their music say "I have".

9. if you are to face michael jackson and he will answer one question from you, what would you say?

I would ask micheal "Why did you touch the lil children of the world?" I would also lik to ask whos in your will but i'd rather the pedifile question.

10. any last words?

Id like to shout out to all the white folk in DS.com and id lik to play more dota and thank u for reading and to the haters that say my guide wasn't good well ur just lame... XD. thank you all and thx for this intresting interview. XD.

F: Why did you want to make a guide for Dotactics?

I simply wanted to make a guide in Dotactics because I want to win the surprise gift and the shirt and of course, the money. So I made a guide about my favorite hero that time and it was Storm Spirit..Oh I was after fame too Smile

F: While making the guide, were there times when you feel like giving up or regretting it?

Yes of course. It's hard when you need to give your friends some time and you tell them "No I can't go because I'm making a Raijin guide for DS". They tell me most of the time to just stop the guide because it will never even reach the top 10. My friend even made a bet with me that it won't reach top 10...Well...Sadly, I won :P

F: Which part of the guide do you think needs improving.

The conclusion and the late game. Late game lacks pictures...Conclusion lacks some silencers...And a lot more. And of course, putting EoS in his "to get" items Smile

F: Which part of the guide do you think is your best?

The early game and mid game. And the conclusion too...The youtube vid and the replays really hit the spot Cool

F: When you found out about your guide was 7th in the competition, what was your reaction? And do you think you deserve 7th.

7th is too low dammit Well I guess it's okay...The other guides were also nice Very Happy

F: Are you planning on editing and improving your guide?

Of course. But not too many changes. And putting some screnies in the guide would be fun ^_^

F: What are some advices you would give to other guide makers?

Start your guide as early as possible, never let negative comments get the best of you and... JUST WORK HARD AND PERSEVERE.

F: Who was most influential person in the creation of your guide?

I guess it would be the Raijin user in the youtube vid...And my friends who encouraged me to use Raijin in one of our shop2shop games in Garena Smile

F: So far, do you think the guides that are in front of you in terms of placing deserve to be in front?

Well, yeah sure...why not...The other guides have really nice screenies and other things...Staple's guide for krobelus was really nice. I like the gif images...Am I right that they are gif images??

F: Will you participate next year, if there was another Dotactics?

Sure...And this time, I'm going to make sure that I will place higher than 7th place...hopefully.

F: What other guides are you planning on making?

I'm planning to make a Visage guide in Christmas time not now too busy and bobbob247 will get angry grrr
or maybe a nai'x guide that was inspired by Fear's naix...20 min radiance and at 40 min, he has radiance + armlet + cuirass +travel Smile

F: What are you thought on me totally hacking your account?

Nah...It doesn't bother me at all...Sorry about your name being colored with pink hahaha...oh yeah ariel lin is really cute in love or bread :P

F: Many people are complaining about typos, your thoughts? And do you think people should even comment on typos?

as long as they understand the word that I type, it's alright...It's not the spelling that counts...But it's the message...I can't avoid it because I was in a hurry...My friends were always waiting outside for me :P

F: If you can have a one night stand with one member on this forum who would it be?

F: Why did you want to make a guide for Dotactics?

I made a guide for the dotactics with hopes of: a. winning it, b. teaching everyone new things about heroes and c. get guides get published easier Laughing

F: While making the guide, were there times when you feel like giving up or regretting it?

This time I didn't... I had every intention of finishing the Pugna because it was fun using him!

F: Which part of the guide do you think needs improving.

A lot. Especially with the Agha change.. But it would be a slow update since classes are being held..

F: Which part of the guide do you think is your best?

Hmm.. Best part for me would be.. Well.. I just feel that the whole guide is just awesome Laughing But I personally think that there are a lot of improvements and the guide does not "yet" have a best part...

F: When you found out about your guide was 5th in the competition, what was your reaction? And do you think you deserve 5th.

So.. I was surprised my guide ended up at 5th place! I thought it wouldn't even get published.. At first I thought the guide didn't deserve 5th since there were a lot of awesome guides before it.. I was just shocked and happy to see my guide made it all the way to 5th

F: Are you planning on editing and improving your guide?

Yeah! There are a lot of things that should be improved and made better.. With the help of the readers of course

F: Who was most influential person in the creation of your guide?

Hm. Since I did the guide without telling many people, I'd say that... Only my schoolmates have influenced me and all of DS room!

F: So far, do you think the guides that are in front of you in terms of placing deserve to be in front?

Yup! The Lanaya and KotL guide are just so awesome! They really deserve to be in front and I really feel that the succeeding guides would be the best!

F: Will you participate next year, if there was another Dotactics?

There would be a chance.. But hey, where would dota be a year later?? Hmm.. Cool

F: What other guides are you planning on making?

Here is a list of guides that I plan to make and their progress:

PL -> Epic Fail
NW -> Let ic4three make it
Naga -> Manta change = epic fail
Razor -> I have a good combination! Woot!

F: If ice frog took out Pugna or changed him completely what would you do?

Hmm.. I would sue! Jk.. but if he did.. well.. I'll just update the guide thoroughly and teach everyone how to use the whole new pugna..

F: If the world is gonna explode tomorrow, what will you do today?

Hmm.. The world will explode tomorrow? It would be similar to one quote which I forgot.. but today I would:

Seriously speaking -> enjoy time with friends and family
not seriously speaking -> I would be curious why the world wouldn't explode today instead?

after twenty days, staple finally came out of his hole. although it's already too late, it's better to post his answers on his interview. here it is:

1. as you already know, you've taken the 6th place on dotactics 2009. congratulations! how does it feel?

It felt good initially, then 6.60 was released and my guide was raped. Bad time to be raped as well. Just before exams, which were to be followed by a 4 week vacation in a no-internet zone. So I was pretty dissapointed that I didnt have a chance to update it. Oh and then there was the good ol' your-pc-just-broke-and-you-lost-everything.

2. looking your guide and based on your comments, you really worked hard for this. can you tell us how did you prepare? any problems encountered? and how did you overcome them?

Firstly, living in a crappy country screws you over. I spent propably like 2 days, only working on GIFs and Videos for the guide. Carelessly and not considering the fact that each of the files I made are pretty big, I continued. So now its the day before the "due" date, and I am stuck with my crappy 384kbits/sec connection upoloading these videos. Woop Woop, after spending so much time uploading, half the uploaders i was using simultaniously decided to mysteriously delete my files, and I lost it all. I did not overcome these problems Sad

3. like i always say to the participants, thanks for joining dotactics. what can you say about your experience with this competition?

4. i have read the comments on your guide. most of the readers requests more information. any plans of update? what would you add to this guide?

Well I would add functioning imagery, videos, etc etc. more on why this is "would" and not "will" later.

5. i notice that you skipped two of the reader's question on your guide. let me highlight them and ask your answer:
a) why get manta?
b) why chen a bad enemy?

Crapy country = No Bandwidth to browse international sites, meaning that the comments I added were from my phone and they were a bit rushed. Just my luck to have my usage for the month exceed just prior to my guide being published.

a) Manta makes you dps. It calls for a bit more variety and is a fun way to play dp when your a bit tired of the classic dp role. DPS was also a pun on "DP", see how clever I was?

b) "chen a bad enemy" because chen enemy heal Alien

. Inflicting your damage with exorcism does one of 2 things; Makes the enemy retreat and lose momentum, or it damages them eneough that they cant push anyways.
With Chen, they can just keep pushing anyhoo and just get healed after Exorcism. New Chen is even worse with his Aggies.

6. as one of DS' guidemakers, what are your plans in the future?

7. it's sad to see your guide pawned by photobucket. it's even sadder to know you have this PC problem. tell us what exactly happened, and how's it going now?

I didnt back up any of the files I mentioned above, and couldnt re-upload the media after guide was published due to no usage, no time (exams & vacation). Whats more is I went to a lan, and pc gives me error at startup after I install a game I got from a mate and restarted pc. Nothing else. Its just never got past the login screen. Take it to shop. Virus. Lose everything. My musics (and I love my musics). My Games. The dota related media. My movies. EVERYTHING.

Currently im on an even more crappy pc:

512ram
unknown gfx card
1.5ghz processor
40gig hd.

At least I can still play some basic games.

Hooray, now all teh heroes are together for nonstop diso .

Booray, not much of a dif, although it did ensure numerous comments on my guide like "zomfg youz noob!11!! krob doesnt get ms boost idiot!!11!"

c) icefrog on 6.60 ...hooray or boo?

Hooray. If IceFrog was any cooler the world would freeze over.

d) transformers 2 ...hooray or boo?

I am done with my DotA, and am retiring from DS. It was a good run, and I have been a member of DS for a loong time. Maybe not posting as much, but reading and using everything constructive this site and its users have ever submitted.

I started DotA about 3 years ago at a LAN. I was bad. I type into google when I got back home, "Best guides to DotA", and DS pops up.

Since then, DS has taught me how to do all the basics of DotA, has helped me impress those bastards who introduced me to the game, thinking they are radiating awesome. I own them whenever we play now.

DS has taught me most of what I know of DotA.

I am retiring from DotA to focus more on studies. I recently had a very philosophical debate, and I realised that playing DotA now, will not help me in the future. At least not at the rate and time I was spending on DotA.

I have taken up studying French in my spare time to fill some of the gaps left by the absence of DotA. I have also recently rediscovered my love for reading and Pokemon Alien
