Test My WC3 Maps (Tag+Custom Hero map)
Posted on Fri Aug 14, 2009 9:07 pmOkey, I have been on this forum for a while and I was wondering if some kind people would like to test my map. I noticed that are many playing on asian server here so some might recognize the custom hero map called 'Custom Hero Arena Defense' (good name ^^).
Anyway please test and maybe give me some feedback. These both links lead to epicwar, tell me if you want another link to other sites or maybe know a good place to upload on.

I more like tags than Hero defenses...Only hero defense that got my attention is DotA...
I will test your tag game on garena with a friend...As for Hero Defense one (Custom hero, same...) not sure...

I might wanna explain the custom hero map also =). You choose 3+1 abilities and fight against creeps in your lane. If you drop you loose lifes. 0 lifes = lost. Every 5 level you will fight in arena. If you kill someone you gain 5 lifes but if you die you loose five. You can choose numbers of teams and which team you wanna join in the start also some bonus modes. Most that try it think that it is great so can you please maybe test that also someday?? ^^

I will give it to a friend, who will be happy to test it for you.
Took a look at the map...Few buildings, and barricades are kinda weak...You could add an ability like Blink just to give that ability to juke enemies...It seems like a small space to search.Upgrade system is good.
Also, you could switch farm's and gold mine's places in build inventory, so that it's easier to know which ones are free, and which aren't. It will take quite a time to get some wives, and building a farm would further delay it. Barricades are a bit useless, cause, as i saw, there are little narrow spaces, where you can make at least 2 layered defence.But, since they are free...You could also add a single targeted chop tree ability. Tomorrow is testing time, and all will come to be seen...

Good, great actually ^^. About the blink if you choose mage as your skill then you will get a blink. Thought it could be very imba if all could have if since there are many big gaps which will take 5 minutes for warlords to reach but 2 sec for mage
. The tree ability is a good idea, do you think that you should buy it, get it as an standard ability, after some time or after a certain number of kills? I will think about the barricades and wifes on how to balance them but I will change the place of gold mine

dota isn't a hero defense...
a defense map goes as the following:
units spawn from the enemy to attack you. you have a hero or you can build towers. dota is a team game 5v5 against players. defense is against the pc.
but @ topic
custom hero defence already exists, tho yours may be different. and it isn't that adored actually....
and there are like 36346346 tags already, get your own type of map and you will be adored... come up with something from yourself and not a re-make.

Have you tried my maps?? None are remakes, there is no other map like my custom map. Sorry but I have to ask again have you really tried the maps?dota isn't a hero defense...

Ok, played it a bit on Garena (not so succesful though, since they hate dling new maps...)
Well, i played as a warlord, and used the nessaj looking one (Tracker).
first that came to my mind was the mark your land skill...You shouldn't put a limit, but how long a totem can last...Also, you can increase the limit to 3/4/5.It's too tough to decide where to place a totem...Traps, i guess are fine. Forgot what was the other skill...
Most of them complained how hard it is to gather gold and even get close to scratching warlord...Increase the tower's power a bit.Also, make max gold carried at beginning to 15.
You could also make some sorth of leveling sistem...Or make items...
What are Chicken of Death and Creator for???And how to get to them?

Lol, I posted but the post didn't get posted :/ so I do a quicky:).
I can change so that you can have more totems. Whats better duration or forever?
Items i have thought about but hard to come up with good items. I have one though and it will be like quelling blade but with charges. The leveling system I haven't thought that much about. How were you thinking it should be?
Last level of towers and barricades are good but you need gold for them. Usually you can't get them until late in the game. I will think more about the balancing here since most of it is connected with the gold.
The chicken and creater is just some stuff Nivius the terrain maker added. They have no functionallity however I'm thinking of making a movie that the winners are eaten by the chicken;).

How about making a passage to them, and if they die, you can take the item they drop.They revive every 2 minutes.They are weak at the begining, but grow stronger every time you kill them.
I think duration is better, cause it should be something like an observer ward...
Give some more armor to barricades, and increase damage a bit of the towers...
And if you are gonna make items, don't introduce leveling sistem...pick one, otherwise warlords will have the edge...

sure thing, will take some time thought since I'm working on a map with a freind which we release new version of tomorrow i think (at least testing it). Also my custom hero map needs a new version before pontus tag since it's more hosted
. But please give me some help with items which warlords can buy. Maybe even pontus.Back to top

Haha, would be great

Yes, you are...I do get some nice ideas from time to time (sometimes more often when insipired...). I can help with some things, although i will not mess around with important stuff...
