WC3 Crashes While playing

I have been playing DOTA for past one or 2 weeks [n00b].
My Config :

Intel DualCore 2.66 GHz
Geforce 8600 GT 512 MB
1.5 GB Ram.
Realtek HD Audio (inbuilt)

OS: Windows XP SP3

The game crashes saying randomly

FATAL ERROR!

Program:c:\program files\warcraft iii\war3.exe
Exception 0xC0000005(ACCESS VIOLATION)AT 00B1:6F412D25

The instruction at '0x6F412D25' reference memory at '0x3BEA0986'.
The memory could not be 'read'

Press OK to terminate application.

These hex values keeps changing on each crash.

PLEASE HELP.

Maybe the problem is in your video card.

This kind of phenomenons occur quite randomly. Sometimes, it can happen a lot of times. Sometimes, it may never happen. This probably has something to do with your Warcraft III settings. Other than that, I advise you to ignore it.
Oh, and does this happen EVERYTIME you play Dota, and at what point in the game does it crash? Map version? Patch? Does this happen in Dota only?

My cousins old PC frequently crashed because of his video card, when he bought a new PC, it was great.

This is based on my own experience.

I'll install vista today. If problem persists then I'll reply back. This problem is specific to Warcraft III only. And happens at random. For example I've been playing for past few days without crash. But today it reappeared.

WC3FT Patch version : 1.23

the patch isn't really the source of problems.. try wazzy's suggestion.. he speaks via experience.. but try using the pc for around 2 weeks and monitor what happens.. since that observations might help.. i get this around thrice a month.. Laughing

maybe it's just luck

I installed vista today. Will play in vista for next few days to see if theres any change.

you should probly find out how and when this happens
if it happens when your using other programs as well...

maybe its because of videocard....
im also experiencing that situation for sometimes, and i figured out it happens when the game is getting hot and almost heroes are casting their spells together in clashes

I was doing nothing but standing near the fountain when the game crashed today in vista.This seems to be a random problem.
