Who should get the courier?

Anyone can get courier. It really depends on what items you want to start with. People who dont buy it simply suffer the consequences themselves

Not me that's for sure. It's so annoying when you pay 200 for a chicken then die in the first 5 minutes. Come back say hello to your chicken, unload it and buy a tp... Then once 15 minutes have passed its mid game, ganks everywhere, towers already falling, way to dangerous for the little bird. Imo they're over rated.

Plus there is allot of great stuff in the side shops now.

I maybe get it if I solo mid because the slow chicken can actually make some decent time. Otherwise if I'm top or bottom I just say to my allie 'eh chen... lemme borrow that chicken for a sec'

Only buy one if you are a support or carry hero.
Sadly,my friend doesnt know how to "share" couriers

If ur a carry you should just try to make due without having a courier, that's what I do anyway, since it's ridiculous that I would have to buy one in the first place.

If I'm not a hard carry i always chick, then I ask team who wants share, and I share

Pubs are a waste of time anyway, you should stop playing them !

In pubs anyone can buy a courier.
Seriously, all it really means is a few branches instead of a circlet.
Don't compromise on your heal items, rather get less stat items. Plus you farm a few waves and your chicken brings you your bracer/null/wraith, np.

You should not be dying, or even coming close to dying, that early. And whether you got branches or a circlet (or whatever) isn't gonna make much difference if you are gangster early game.
Rather take a few farming minutes, get your stat item that you WILL NOT have to go back to base for (seeing as you have your CHICKEN) and then go he-man the shit outta them

I once saw a courier defense. It was the funniest and most brilliant thing ever.. and it even worked. The story went like this:
A long long game entered super-late stage, meaning all heroes are lvl 25 and full of high tier items, but there is a overall balance and nobody can push the tree/throne.
My team was pushing hard and after an epic team clash almost my whole team was wipped out, we had 1 hero alive, and the enemy lost only 1 hero in the process.
Spawntime started to go as the ystarted to push back. It took a while since they had to mow a gigantic initial wave but it didn't take enough time for us to spawn. Our surviving hero left the game after seeing a 4v1 and we were all furious... But then we had the most epic time buying idea ever. We sold all items from the dropout hero. They were all high tier and were worth about 25k. And with that we bought chickens.. more then 100 of them.. we each controled a small group and surrounded the enemy heroes and blocked their path.. they killed our poor chicks easily, but it took just enough time for us to respawn.
Then we killed their whole (-1 guy) team and blitz pushed back and thus won the game.

But the scene was just epic, 100 chickens marching and path blocking and circleing every hero. That was the single most funniest dota moment in my playing carrier.
