I just tried Heros of Newerth today. I found out that you can stack all of the orbs on 1 hero. The only 2 orbs that do not stack is their version of deso and eos. All the others such as life steal, maim, mana burn, etc WILL stack with each other along with ONE of the 2 that do not stack together. Things will also stack with any 'orb' skills the hero has. The only restriction is no stacking same orb ie. lifesteal.

Can you imagine a Drow with lifesteal(satanic), maim(sny), mana burn(diffusal), armor break(deso), base(basher), butterfly, all topped off with her natural slow orb? Once she gets HotD and mana burn or deso, its actually quite practical for her to farm all of that in one game.

Major IMBA and from their forums it seems that it was this way by design. I seriously do not see HoN ever over taking dota if it keeps that up.

play like that every time...mb that's the unique and weird point about HoN...you can do something u cant at dota

Dare,

those items would basically make their vers. of drow a god. Huge aspd from sny/butterfly, the huge lifesteal from satanic, and the evasion would make her almost invincible while the damage from her ult, bfly, deso, manaburn, and sny make it almost imposible to even try to get away. And then you get to the point where you 'might' be able to try to run, and then you remember all her slows --> ice arrow, maim, and bash. She literally becomes a god in that game.

all heroes are overpowered and imba.

really puck with 70% lifesteal.

a hero with manashield that ccan cast surge, disable a guy for 5 seconds and has an ability where he sucks 10% of all enemy max mana. 10 sec cd.

oh, and there is no drow in that game.

there is a viper with drows aura but without silence.

It is the first version. I havent played, but think about it, how long has dota taken to get all of its balancing issues resolved, and still some heros are getting nerfed.

So i think it is gonna b a while before it wil be a balanced game.

Arachna - she has dorws frost arrows АКА web shot, and the aura. But it also has a freakish ulti that reveals invis and deals quite a lot of DMG, and slows. With quite a low cd. And yes, orb stacking in HoN is quite imba, another point why HoN fails - orbs do not stack in dota for a reason. A balance reason.


@The above guy - the copied everything from dota, then made their changes and ruined the balance.

i thought they dont stack in dota due to the WC3 client. but it would be way imba if they did stack in dota.

agree with toke.

tho heroes in HoN have a better theme. all their skills fit to their heroes. but there is just so much imbaness.
