Erm.
Guys?

I finally admit that I need to learn Jass.
Using whatever is provided.. I can only bend the limits so far..

Hitting up the net, I realized that the only way to make my custom spells MUI was to use Jass.
Thing is, all I know about Jass is that it's a programming code, right?

Any resources on the webs I can use for Jass tutorials? o.0
Like, a complete one, from the basics to the finer applications.
Crawling to Running, that sort of thing.

I think I can make your spells MUI. At least describe them so I can give you some tips.

Anyway if you want to learn Jass there is alot of good guides at the sites vita said. The best I found was on thehelper.net and was called something like a concise guide (can't spell it). Anyway I found the easiest way to learn jass was to take your own triggers, use convert to custom text (or script whatever it says) and then try to optimize that trigger. When you have done that for a while you will certainly remember how you do stuff and can make your own triggers. Most of them will prolly fail but if they do just ask aat thehelper.net in the jass section and they will help you.

I gave up on trying to learn Jass after finding so many guides that I did not understand =/
Made me feel stupid.
But I did find a work-around.
Custom Script: local unit udg_Dummy

lol, that was my workaround to allow multiple dummies be spawned and not slash.

BUT!
There is one thing I ain't happy about...
I wanted a tower to have this ability->

Name: Psychic Bonds
Description: Allows Esther to bind up to 10enemy units for 8seconds!
The skill the tower has is just a Bluff, it has no effects, just an un-clickable icon and description.

The tower's attack cooldown is 10s.
So, every 2seconds, the tower will bind up to 10enemy targets for 8secs.
The manner in which the enemies are bound is like "Chain Lightning", bouncing off targets, one shackling the other.

I accomplished it by basing the Shackle ability off "Aerial Shakles-Human".
Editing it to have 10levels with the same stats.

Trigger Name: First shackle
Event->
Unit-A unit owned by player 10 (Light Blue) is attacked
Conditions->
(Unit-type of (attacking unit)) Equal to Esther
Actions
Custom Script: local unit udg_Dummy
Unit: Create 1 Shackle Dummy for (Owner of (Attacking Unit)) at (Position of (Attacking unit)) facing default building facing degrees
Set: Dummy = (Last Created Unit)
Unit: Set level of Aerial Shackles for "Dummy" to 1
Unit: Order "Dummy" to 'Human Dragonhawk Rider-Aerial Shackles (Attacked unit)

This trigger sets the whole thing rolling..

Trigger Name: 2nd shackle
Events->
Unit - A unit begins channeling an ability
Conditions->
Ability being cast Equal to Aerial Shackles
Level of Aerial Shackles for Triggering unit Equal to 1
Actions->
Custom Script: local unit udg_Dummy
Unit - Add a 8.10 second Generic expiration timer to (Triggering unit)
Unit - Create 1 Shackle Dummy for (Triggering player) at (Position(Target unit of ability being cast) facing default building facing degrees.
Set - Dummy = Last Created unit
Unit - Set level of Aerial Shackles for "Dummy" to 2
Unit - Order Unit to Human Dragonhawk Rider-Aerial Shackles (Random unit from (Units withing 300.00 range of (Position of Unit) matching((((Target unit of ability being cast) has buff Bind) Equal to False) and ((Owner of (Target unit of ability being cast)) Equal to Player 10 (Light Blue))

And that Trigger, 2nd Shackle, is repeated for level 2 Shackle, Level 3 shackle, until level 10.
The trigger supposedly creates a dummy at the bound unit and binds another unit that's within 300aoe of it.

BUT!
Most of the time, even if there are 30monsters in a small cluster, the "Chain Shackle" does not Shackle 10units, maybe 1-5units on average =/
That is my concern.

Bah,
I give up on my -bleep- chain shackle.

I tried looping certain actions using Custom Scripts, no success.
TRIGGERS ARE SO -bleep- HARD!!!

lol.
Got school in 20minutes.
I just seriously wasted 4hours of my life trying to figure out what's wrong with that Chain shackle skill.

Can I request a custom ability here?
I'd like someone to make a chain shackle skill that can Shackle up to 10units for 8seconds.
Or at least someone give me a rough guide, I'm losing my head here.

I'm not good .... alright fine im horrible with mapmaker, scripts ect. (I didnt get half of the conversation...) T_T when you mean chain shackle do you mean like forked lightning looking like 10 shackles or chain lightning but instead it shackles? If it is like forked lightning why dont you script it so when you shackle an enemy its also targets the closest 10 enemies. Or you can try to make an AOE shackle? Increase the shackle's size so it looks like its trapping all enemies in the area but in actuality they just have the effect of shackle (whatever that may be.. no movement/ attacking?) Or if thats to hard just have an AOE stun with the visual of shackle?

OOPS! didnt see your pervious post... hmm... no clue like I said im clueless...

I already tried 7 variations.
But my last 3 attempts were with Custom Scripts calling local units variable and a local integer variable..
And Using:
loop
exitwhen ShackledAmount > 10
//Long list of actions...

endloop

lol
But still fails =/
I COULD upload the map here.. then u can see the trigger yourself to see if there's anything wrong.
Or if you're pro at Jass, I'll convert it the trigger to text and paste it here =x

I have made the spell it looks quite nice. You wanted the shackles to shackle between every shackled unit right? Like a chain ligthning. All the shackle shouldn't come from the tower. I just need to look at it a few times and fix some bugs that may come.

Haha, I have a user on thehelper.net so I'm one of them Wink.

Felix all the bases are done. When I looked around on the map in-game I was stricken of the size. I kinda lost track of size in the editor xD. But I have still some things to do but nothing that I can't edit while you edit the map. So how do you want it?
