October Bard Challenge (and September Voting)

September Voting
Presenting the top four for September... we came down to a bit more than four and eventually decided to use the balancing of the skill mechanic as the tie-breaker. Anyway, here we have:

Usual rules apply (surprise?) - competitors do not vote for yourselves, and NOBODY say who you've voted for because we don't like that very much.

The poll will also end a week early (read on please).

October Challenge

We want elementals! This can be a pure elemental force, an elementalist (someone who uses an element), or a hybrid user of multiple elements (see Invoker), this part is up to you.
We are not providing a full list of elements, however we strongly recommend not using fire, ice or lightning unless you can make it REALLY GOOD, because we are well-aware of how many exist already. In other words, using an element that has a weaker presence in the game is more to your advantage than one with a stronger presence (because, for example, Ice already has Lich, CM, Drow, part of Invoker, part of Jakiro, and Skadi, you get the idea we don't need more).
We would also like to discourage you from using "Light" or "Dark" or "Shadow" in place of elements, because those are NOT actually elements (contrary to what Element TD might say). Also, repeat the Fire/Ice/Lightning argument, we already have a truckload of those. If you can convince us otherwise and, again, make it REALLY GOOD, then it may work - but its not likely.

On another note, we are restricting you to THREE WEEKS instead of the full month. For various reasons of importance (We like Halloween). The remaining time can be used for discussion and final rebalancing, or for that matter a BREAK if you are getting as exhausted by these as we are (funny story that...).

does "Arcane Energy" or "Arcane Magic" are included in this "Element" theme?

Got a hero already...Has fire and lightning, but i will need to adjust it a bit for originality...

FIRE, WATER, AIR(Wind), THUNDER, AND EARTH ARE ELEMENTS, dunno for anything else...arcane magic is bending element of some sort to your will i think...liches use cold magic(ICE aka. water...), and maybe metal can be considered an element...but i don't know for anything else...

Why doesn't my hero ever enter top 4?Lols, Ghost's didn't enter?

Interesting....I have some ideas...

PS: I think they mean the natural elements. Things like earth, fire, water, wind, ice, lightning, nature, magma, wood, metal....things like that. Arcane magic doesn't really fit in, since it was created by high elves...

GRAVITY IS NOT AN ELEMENT - but can be pseudo worked into air


Metal is TECHNICALLY earth.

and no, mine was not in the top 4, my 3rd skill (the one that conformed to my requirements) sucked.

The chances are that if you have to ask about your element then it is probably not an element, although still worth clarifying just in case it is one. Most of Gunslinger's elements (including the second set posted while I was posting) are viable options in addition to the list of core elements above.

Incidentally that list really should have Air instead of the second Water. We don't that much water.

Oh, maybe you should try to discourage people from trying to make invoker-copies, as there surely will be lots of them.

Looks more of an archer to me. Although in fairness we are putting Drow in "Ice" ...

One-week-old may or may not disqualify it, need to confer with Ghost on that one. As for the theme, it would fit properly in nature if we accepted nature, again need to confer. Hm. We'll deal with that in a bit.
