Seth the Destroyer - Lord of the Desert [October BC]

This is a very loose concept so far, the numbers may be a little off. I might not even entaer with this, who knows? I need some serious criticisam to decide whether to enter with this hero, and how to improve him.

Seth the Destroyer - Lord of the Desert

Range: 135 | Move Speed: 300
Primary: AGI
Str: 18 + 1.9 | Agi: 24 + 2.5 | Int: 18 + 1.7
Damage: 48 - 52 | HP: 492 | Mana: 234
HP Regen: 0.79 | Mana Regen: 0.73
Attack Speed: 1.35 | Armor: 1

Story: Seth is the god of desert, darkness, chaos and destruction - his power on par with Ra, as only the two of them deserved to be called "Majesty". Even though Set is considered as such a god, he is not evil, as no god can be truly evil - they all watch over the world, not letting anything happen to it - Seth thus takes upon the job of guarding the Sun from the great Snake Apophis. But when the great snake escapes the realm of the night, and descends upon the world of humans, Seth follows, but loses the battle against it, ending up stranded in the lower realms of existence, barely a shadow of what he was before. Now he seeks conflicts, chaos and destruction, in order to restore his powers, and catch Apophis before it eats the Sun, destroying this world.

Say'Da (Y)
Seth creates a fierce sandstorm that surrounds him - its power and magnitude increase with time. Costs mana per second.

Level 1 - Deals 20 dps to enemies in a 300 AoE. With each second, the AoE increases by 25 and the dps by 2.5. Cap of 600 AoE and 50 dps. Reduces the sight of enemies caugh in it by 30%. Costs 10 mana per second.
Level 2 - Deals 30 dps to enemies in a 400 AoE. With each second, the AoE increases by 30 and the dps by 3. Cap of 700 AoE and 60 dps. Reduces the sight of enemies caugh in it by 40%. Costs 15 mana per second.
Level 3 - Deals 40 dps to enemies in a 500 AoE. With each second, the AoE increases by 50 and the dps by 5. Cap of 800 AoE and 70 dps. Reduces the sight of enemies caugh in it by 50%. Costs 20 mana per second.
Level 4 - Deals 50 dps to enemies in a 600 AoE. With each second, the AoE increases by 60 and the dps by 6. Cap of 900 AoE and 80 dps. Reduces the sight of enemies caugh in it by 60%. Costs 25 mana per second.

Mana Cost: 50/50/50/50
Cooldown: 0/0/0/0

Notes: You can still move while this skill is active. Much like lesharc's ultimate.

Sand shell (H)
Seth encases hiself in a shell of sand that absorbs both physical and magical attacks directed at him. Seth can unleash the sand from which the shell is created at his enemies, along with all the power it absorbed.

Level 1 - The shell absorbs 20% of all incoming physical and magical damage. Lasts for 8 seconds. If you deactivate the shell before the duration ends, it deals 50 + 50% of absorbed damage in a 500 AoE.
Level 2 - The shell absorbs 30% of all incoming physical and magical damage. Lasts for 8 seconds. If you deactivate the shell before the duration ends, it deals 75 + 60% of absorbed damage in a 500 AoE.
Level 3 - The shell absorbs 40% of all incoming physical and magical damage. Lasts for 8 seconds. If you deactivate the shell before the duration ends, it deals 100 + 70% of absorbed damage in a 500 AoE.
Level 4 - The shell absorbs 50% of all incoming physical and magical damage. Lasts for 8 seconds. If you deactivate the shell before the duration ends, it deals 125 + 80% of absorbed damage in a 500 AoE.

Mana Cost: 100/135/170/205
Cooldown: 20/18/16/14

Sand Twister (N/A)
Each time Seth kills, whether it be an ally or foe, a small sand twister will form near him and attack his enemy. Twisters lasts for 30 seconds. Max 10 twisters(each greater twister counts as 2 twisters)

Level 1 - Each twister deals 1 dps to the unit Seth is attacking at the moment. If Seth isn't atacking they will deal damage to random units in a 300 AoE. Every 3 twisters form a greater twister, and the duration resets. Greater twisters deal 4 dps.
Level 2 - Each twister deals 2 dps to the unit Seth is attacking at the moment. If Seth isn't atacking they will deal damage to random units in a 400 AoE. Every 3 twisters form a greater twister, and the duration resets. Greater twisters deal 8 dps.
Level 3 - Each twister deals 3 dps to any the unit Seth is attacking at the moment. If Seth isn't atacking they will deal damage to random units in a 500 AoE. Every 3 twisters form a greater twister, and the duration resets. Greater twisters deal 12 dps.
Level 4 - Each twister deals 4 dps to the unit Seth is attacking at the moment. If Seth isn't atacking they will deal damage to random units in a 600 AoE. Every 3 twisters form a greater twister, and the duration resets. Greater twisters deal 16 dps.

Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: N/A

Notes: The damage the twisters deal is magical. At level 4, its maximum is 80, granting you have 5 greater twisters. When attacking heroes that would ammount to 60.

Fury of the Desert (F)
Seth utilizes his powers to turn an area into a desert - there, all of his powers are magnified, and he is closer to his true form with each second he spends in the desert. Lasts for 10 seconds.

Level 1 - Turns a 600 AoE around him into a desert. While inside it, all Seth's skills deal 40% more damage. Enemies inside the desert are slowed by 20%. While inside the desert he assumes his true form, gaining 50 movespeed, 200 hp, +20 damage, and ranged attack(400).
Level 2 - Turns a 700 AoE around him into a desert. While inside it, all Seth's skills deal 55% more damage. Enemies inside the desert are slowed by 30%. While inside the desert he assumes his true form, gaining 50 movespeed, 300 hp, +30 damage, and ranged attack(500).
Level 3 - Turns a 800 AoE around him into a desert. While inside it, all Seth's skills deal 70% more damage. Enemies inside the desert are slowed by 40%. While inside the desert he assumes his true form, gaining 50 movespeed, 400 hp, +40 damage, and ranged attack(600).

Mana Cost: 200/250/300
Cooldown: 120/120/120

DISCUSSION:

First, lets start by clarifying the skills.

Say'Da

This skill's primary purpose is chasing - you can deal good damage to an enemy while chasing him with this skill on, and even reduce his range of sight, so he cannot juke as effectively as he could. Also, when being chased, this skill can help you escape by obstructing the sight of the enemy. Can be quite nice in teambattles too. Some might argue its imba, but I think the manacost balances it.

Let’s see its synergies with other skills:

Sand Shell – The shell can help you keep this skill up for a longer time, even if you are focused – also the shell can be deactivated to deal even more AoE damage.

Sand Twister – Helps you deal more AoE damage, when not attacking, ot deal more damage to one enemy. Also, Say’Da is bound to kill some creeps allowing you to create more twisters, more quickly.

Fury of the Desert - Needles to say, this skill grants a good damage boost to this skill, as well as helping you destroy your enemies – slow + obstructed sight is nice, and you even become ranged.

Sand Shell

A defense skill, made to help you chase enemies, and kill them, since you can also use it offensively. Also useful when you are being focused by the enemies, since it can deal lots of damage, especially if deactivated just before expiring.

Synergies with the other skills:

Say’Da – As mentioned before, the enemies will probably focus you when you use it in a teambattle – that’s where the Sand Shell comes it – it will help you survive and deal more damage.

Sand Twister – No real synergy between these skills, maybe that the twisters can deal damage to those chasing you, while you activate Sand Shell, which will most definitely repel the chaser.

Fury of the desert – Easy one – this skill increases the damage Sand Shell deals, which can be a large amount even without it.

Sand Twister

It’s a true multipurpose skill – it provides you with DPS that helps in both last hitting and hero killing, also a good source of damage when chasing a hero you can’t hit, especially if he is alone, or dealing damage to a lone hero that’s chasing you.

Synergies are as following:

Say’Da – This skill helps you amass more twisters in a short amount of time, and the twisters in turn increase your damage output.

Sand Shell – Its damage can also help you get twisters, but not as much. They can be used as a combo to repel chasers.

Fury of the Desert – Logical one – increases the damage of the twisters by a significant amount, as well as granting you range to help you target enemies easily. Not to mention the slow.

Fury of the Desert

A powerful skill that can turn the tide of battle in seconds – it increases your health, attack damage, spell damage, movespeed and grants you range, while slowing your enemies. Too good to be true isn’t it? But it works only as long as you stay in the desert you created. If you exit it, you lose it all.

The synergies are obvious, but what the hell:

Say’Da – Increases the damage of this skill, which in turn also obstructs the vision of your enemies, making it harder for them to exit the desert.

Sand Shell – You will most likely be focused when you activate Fury of the Desert, so this skill will help you survive, and deal a considerable amount of damage to your attackers.

Sand Twister – This DPS skill shines even more when you are in the desert – your base damage, movespeed and range are increased, as well as the damage of the twisters. Al of that together will make you a great DPS. For a while atleast.

Recommended skill build:

1.Sand Twister
2.Sand Shell
3.Sand Twister
4.Say’Da
5.Sand Twister
6.Fury of the Desert
7.Sand Twister
8.Say’Da
9.Say’Da
10.Say’Da
11.Fury of the Desert
12.Sand Shell
13.Sand Shell
14.Sand Shell
15.Stats
16.Fury of the Desert
17.– 25. Stats

The skill build focuses on last hitting and farming early with Sand Twister and Say’Da with only 1 level of Sand Shell to be used if you get into a tight spot.

Alternative build:

1.Sand Shell
2.Say’Da
3.Sand Shell
4.Say’Da
5.Say’Da
6.Fury of the Desert
7.Sand Shell
8.Say’Da
9.Sand Shell
10.Sand Twister
11.Fury of the Desert
12.Sand Twister
13.Sand Twister
14.Sand Twister
15.Stats
16.Fury of the Desert
17.– 25. Stats

This one focuses on ganking and overall aggressiveness. You will be chasing enemies with Say’Da on, tower diving with your Sand Shell on to deal even more damage to your enemy with it. You will be the main damage dealer in teambattles, maybe even tank with Sand Shell.

Recommended items:
They are not in order or anything. I just wrote in all the items that would be useful for him.

Phase Boots or Power Treads – Both can work fine, it’s all up to you – caster or DPS?

Quelling Blade – Very useful early, for last hitting, when combined with Sand Twister, it’s even better.

Perseverance – Usefull early for mana and health regen that you will need. DO not upgrade to battlefury though, since you don’t really need it. You have 2 farming skills already.

Butterfly – Good for any agi hero, and so is for Seth. If you do not intend on going for a DPS build, only a talisman of evasion will do, then upgrade it lategame.

Radiance – You can rush this, by going for a farming build, then wreck havoc in teambattles mid-game.

Orchid – I know, it sounds crazy, but it will help you support your skills and grant you some DPS. The silence cannot hurt when combined with your ulti.

Difusal – It will help you destroy your enemies, and grant you a slow to help you deal damage with your skills. Also, some int and the always useful manaburn.

Eul’s – Simply to help you setup your skills and grant you some more mana/mana regen and movespeed.

Black King Bar – You might get focused a lot, so this can help you, if Sand Shell isn’t enough.

Vanguard – Kind of good for tanking combined with Sand Shell, although that is not the main purpose of this hero.

Eye of Skadi – Grants you with an extra slow, buffs up your tankability, DPS and grants you mana for your skills. Your best friend actually, if you can farm it up.

Manta – Grants nice stats, more MS/AS and the illusions are cool, especially when you are in true form – they won’t revert to the original, melee you when the ulti expires, or if they exit the desert.

Mjollnir – It grants damage and AS, also a cool passive, but the main thing about is it’s active skill – combined with Sand Shell, it will be a killer one.

Shiva’s Guard – Bestows upon you tankability, more mana and an AoE spell that slows enemies. It doesn’t grant any DPS though.

Lothar’s Edge – If you want to sneak up on your enemies and initiate the battle with your ulti, this is the choice for you. Blink dagger is and alternative, but not a really good one.

Necromicion – Why the hell not? The little buggers can deal some nice damage in the confusion that ensues when you activate your ulti.

MoM or HotD – Can be good for him, especially when in ranged form, although there are better items that can be rushed.

Vladimir’s Offering – Not advised, since it isn’t really an item for heroes that can morph into a ranged form, but can still be useful.

Changelog:
-Changed the name of the first skill
-Decreased the damage absorbed and damage released of the second skill
-Increased the duration of the second skill
-Increased the cooldown of the second skill
-Decreased the slow of the ulti
-Decreased the skill damage increase of the ulti
-Added a sight reducing effect to9 the first skill
-Changed how true form works
-Added the discussion

I see that there are only the beginings of this hero (or maybe you change the style and become minimalistic), so I have only few things to say.

First of all, I recomend changing the name os 1st skill. Sand King already have skill in the same name, maybe some Egyptian name for it...?

2nd skill is kinda overpowered for me. And I sense those red-haired teenager that kills to feel alive. Good, I like him most from all main characters (ties with the truly most "beloved one", Shikimaru Nara). Smile

Nothing against 3rd, but Ultimate is IMBA for me. He can deal two times more damage to his slowed enemies, kill nearly anything and if casted right and thinked, it gives them absolutely no chance to flee.

Seth is one of my most favourites gods of all and probably second in Egyptian Mythology. I like his storyline and that you didn't made him Big Badass. Plus for you.

Best regards, Genn.

Hm, I probably de-power the ultimate a little, and do something about the second skill. And yes, it is Gaara in his Sand Thingy that blocks stuff XD It was the most apropriate picture I could find...

And yes, there already is a Sand Storm, but there was nothing else I could think off when I was making the hero.

Maybe, prolong the duration of the second skill but make it absorb(and thus release) less damage?

The first skill is too much like SK's Sandstorm skill for me (even the name is identical). Maybe change it so its more unique

Damage potential is really high. I'd probably nerf it to 80% of the absorbed damage, or else an ultimate skill done on you could be devastating if it was released back.

A good DPS skill. Nothing wrong here.

Double the damage on all skills??? 50% is more reasonable. Your second skill is already pretty strong, making it double damage would be overkill.

8.5/10 for now.

I have to proposition of 1st skill - Sand Gust and Sand Nova.

The first will be a wave of sand that blinds enemies in a row. The values are up to you.

The second will be blow form under your enemies feet that will damage them and make them fall, firstly stuning, then slowing.

You can also give this guy Mummies army or Jackals army...But all of these is up to you. And, if you please, can you comment my hero?

Thanks before done. Best regards, Genn.

The first suggestion wouldn't fit in.

Your second suggestion is Kunkkas Torrent genn XD

Jackal is the animal of Anubis, so it isn't really fitting. Seth has an animal, but noone yet determined what animal it is XD

@Ehander: It is 50% at level 1, 75% at level 2, and 100% at level 3.

The first skill is not like it becaue: its not channeling and it doesn't make you invisible. And this skill costs mana per second. Its got a totaly different mechanics. How is it like SK's sandstorm?

Changing some things now...

Seth's animal is a mix of hyeana, jackal and snake, but I won't put me head for the true of this...Meh, I think I just translated idiom.

2nd proposition - guess I went to far in quest of making it at least look-like to Frost Nova...Smile

So do as your wish. I don't have anything againts 1st skill, only againts its name. But this can be changed when neede, ey?

So...Best regards then. Genn.

And what is the meaning of that new name?
I have a suggestion to reduce foe's sight when inside
2nd,the armor absorb 50% dmg? Meaning like kunkka's ulti buff? Whoa, this boy would be difficult to kill
Ulti, when he transform, how long his attackrange?
This is good... Especially it reminds me to yugioh!

Ah yes, forgot to mention the range. Its a standard 600.
The armor absrobs 50% of all the damage, yes. I might make his Str and Str gain crappier to balance for it.
And, actualy, the reduced sight is a good idea. Since a real sandstorm causes reduced sight.

Oh, and Say'Da means Sandstorm in ancient egyptian XD
