Actually, it's exactly the opposite. Any video game based off of a movie is always awful. There are three main methods for ruining a movie based game; either they have completely linear gameplay, and follow the storyline so tightly that all form of fun is choked out of the game (this and there is nothing new in the story of the game), or they do the complete opposite, and allow you to completely butcher the story, by killing characters out of sequence, and various other tricks to create your own ridiculously huge plot holes. The third option, which is by far the worst, is when they change the story, to make it playable. A few examples of completely horrible games based on decent movies include: the recent wave of transformers movies; those games were so very awful. All video games in the last 10 years made to cash in on the popularity of movies about marvel & dc comic book characters. (X-men, Batman, Superman, Spiderman, The Hulk, you name it, it's bad).
Video games however, can work well being turned into movies. Video games tend to have looser story lines (caused by gameplay), which writers can take advantage of, to narrow down 1 good script.(my analogy will be that you can always shrink a detailed picture, but you can't expand a small one). Some titles that started as games but made it to the movie world include Tomb Raider, FF7, and Resident Evil
As always, there are however exceptions. Game with NO STORYLINE WHATSOEVER do not make good movies. take for example, Dead or Alive, *shudders*, and on the other end of the spectrum, games that choose to make the storyline of the movie of little or no consequence also fair well (Lord of the Rings games)

having a dota based movie isn't that bad, cause there are lots of scenarios, so you really don't know what will happen, although you will know characters and the base story, which can ruin it a bit, but not completely...
personally, i would like to see a dota movie, a real dota movie. But what kind of a story to make?well, imo, it should be something a bit longer, and in more parts (1st movie, 2nd movie 3rd movie and so on...) to make it a bit more fun...not having same main characters in each part would also be cool...but, who to win?i personally don't know...

^well, the storyline will be near impossible to make. Camera angles and stuff are possible, but very time consuming. Unless someone has the time and effort to make a good Dota movie, we will all be dreaming.

Well, it would take a director noticing the game first. Then he needs to get some sort of scenario in his head. Then he had to convince a studio it would be a good movie to get money and resources to make it, then finally make it, and for it to be published and noticed by dota players who would post it's existence (or some random guy that thought the movie is cool...

That just ruins the movie...they should come back unless they killed roshan and took the aegis (if there was a roshan and aegis)...In a movie, you die, you die

True! But what about the creeps upgrading after rax? and all the creeps popping out? And neutrals? How will they reproduce fast enough???

It can all be fitted in...for example, for neutrals, they don't have to reproduce, or just be in the same camps staying there forever...they could be some sort of rulers of the forest...creeps shouldn't pop up like in dota, they should come more organized...for the upgrades, it could be just better trained units...
any more?

I think the movie is gonna be awesome! But, it will take a couple of years to make the dynamic angle of the camera.

It could be organised as such 2 generals fighting each other for centuries and this is the final battle/s, each general chose 5 or his/her greatest warriors to fight along side the creeps. The generals being the tree of life and lich king or something (not really sure of warcraft storyline but meh). Also with tiny if would be funny to see 2 heros walking through the dark forest and suddenly the ground beings to tremble and out of nowhere an archer is thrown into them then an avalanche stuns them or somthing.
The reincarnation could be done in a way when a hero dies the general decides to recruit another warrior. kind of like dm mode
