the director of the spiderman movies(Sam Raimi) as agreed to direct the warcraft movie which is expected to come out in 2011..

Feature films that are based on video games simply dont work. I cant think of any film that have been successful video games before. Video games that are based on movies are actually decent most of the time.

I think it can be quite a movie.DOTA has a good storyline,array of characters,and if someone decided to film it in a movie,they be owning big-profit.

I always thought that would be cool. Kind of like final fantasy movies. I would love to see Dazzles ulti in action where you would see the enemies armor melting/disintergrating away while the allies become more shiny/harder etc

yup it will be really cool.

Also with the huge range of characters in warcraft / dota, there can be a trilogy, quadrilogy, fiveology(spelling), sixtology(spelling)

and make the ending an epic fight of sent vs scrouge or something.

Will be epic to see tiny at his largest form towering over his allies and enemies, although he can take some damage then have jugg or some late gamer come in and ulti then we see tiny falling apart in many pieces with his allies stunned at the power of whoever the hero did that and thus begin the great battle since the burning legion or whatever haha (don't really know about warcraft story)

Actually, it's exactly the opposite. Any video game based off of a movie is always awful. There are three main methods for ruining a movie based game; either they have completely linear gameplay, and follow the storyline so tightly that all form of fun is choked out of the game (this and there is nothing new in the story of the game), or they do the complete opposite, and allow you to completely butcher the story, by killing characters out of sequence, and various other tricks to create your own ridiculously huge plot holes. The third option, which is by far the worst, is when they change the story, to make it playable. A few examples of completely horrible games based on decent movies include: the recent wave of transformers movies; those games were so very awful. All video games in the last 10 years made to cash in on the popularity of movies about marvel & dc comic book characters. (X-men, Batman, Superman, Spiderman, The Hulk, you name it, it's bad).

Video games however, can work well being turned into movies. Video games tend to have looser story lines (caused by gameplay), which writers can take advantage of, to narrow down 1 good script.(my analogy will be that you can always shrink a detailed picture, but you can't expand a small one). Some titles that started as games but made it to the movie world include Tomb Raider, FF7, and Resident Evil

As always, there are however exceptions. Game with NO STORYLINE WHATSOEVER do not make good movies. take for example, Dead or Alive, *shudders*, and on the other end of the spectrum, games that choose to make the storyline of the movie of little or no consequence also fair well (Lord of the Rings games)
