Help me! My computer is stuck in a reboot loop.

Sorry to hear about that mate.Happened to me as well.You need to format and install your windows again from scratch!

Or you can always go go into the bios thingy. Uh f11 or something and then select last known good configuration option. But that option is only for Windows XP. It should work.

Boot from your windows CD/DVD and either try a repair or run the command prompt (DOS window) and type FIXBOOT and then hit enter, if it doesn´t work you´ll have to format your hard drive.

Nothing to worry about.....this is not as big a problem as it seems.
This is caused by a simple virus that embeds itself in the system startup,which executes the system restart command.
so, as soon as the system boots, the virus restarts it.

Now the best thing to do is :
1. if u have some precious data in the Windows drive,(normally C: drive), then take your hdd out, connect it as slave to your friend's hdd and extract the data.But scan the hdd with an anti-virus software first or he will get teh virus too. Open the drive from the address bar, it does not trigger the virus with autorun.inf.And NEVER CLICK ON A VIRUS IF U SEE ONE IN YOUR HARD.....just shift+delete it.

2. if you dont have anything important in C: drive, then it would be best do format it and install windows again.

Had to get mine shop fixed. I didnt have reboot cycle, but bluescreen cycle, so that's significantly worse.

First, change the boot order from system bios menu to CD/DVD Rom.
second, insert winXP or Vista cd, and press anykey when prompted.
after loading some files you will see a blue background menu which will guide you if you want to format any partition, create new partitions, or repair windows.

thats how C: drive is formatted usually.
you can format any other drive in windows MS-DOS bby format 'drive': command.
