Solarion - Cosmos Paladin [November BC Entry]





Solarion - Cosmos Paladin

Range: 150 | Move Speed: 305
Primary: STR
Str: 22 + 2.3 | Agi:18 + 2.0 | Int: 20 + 2.2
Damage:50 - 59 | HP: 568 | Mana: 260
HP Regen: 0.81 | Mana Regen: 0.82
Attack Speed: 1.75 | Armor: 4

He had no idea where he had come from, found by the sentinel in their explorations of the furthest reach of the universe. Discovering about his powers of the sun, he is held by his honor to aid the sentinel in their everlasting battle against the scourge. He is the paladin of the sun, able to smite even the the highest evil of the the undead files of the scourge. The sun in is in his hand. Solaris est potesta. Light is power.





Shadow Chain (D)

Even the brightest of places have their darker sides. Shine a torch at an object and it cast a shadow. Solarion releases these shadows which binds themselves into the enemy's units. slowing all enemies down to the slowest of the ones chained. The spell is dispelled when one unit binded is killed.

Level 1 - Binds a maximum of 4 units. 500 units casting range. Targeted unit has move speed reduced 10%. by Affects units within a 600 range from the target.

Level 2 - Binds a maximum of 5 units. 600 units casting range. Targeted unit has move speed reduced by 15%. Affects units within a 650 range from the target.

Level 3 - Binds a maximum of 6 units. 700 units casting range. Targeted unit has move speed reduced by 20%. Affects units within a 700 range from the target.

Level 4 - Binds a maximum of 8 units. 800 units casting range. Targeted unit has move speed reduced by 25%. Affects units within a 750 range from the target.

Mana Cost: 120/130/140/150
Cooldown: 30



Luminous Blade (E)

A blade made out of the purest of the sun's rays shine brightly even through the darkest of times. Enemies hit by this would get slowed.


Level 1 - Allows Solarion and his allies to see 100 units more in the dark. Slows the enemy by 5% per hit. Stacks up to 4 times.

Level 2 - Allows Solarion and his allies to see 150 units more in the dark. Slows the enemy by 7.5% per hit. Stacks up to 4 times.

Level 3 - Allows Solarion and his allies to see 200 units more in the dark. Slows the enemy by 10% per hit. Stacks up to 4 times.

Level 4 - Allows Solarion and his allies to see 250 units more in the dark. Slows the enemy by 12.5% per hit. Stacks up to 4 times.

Cooldown: N/A
Framework: Solarion's sword will glow faintly and burnt enemies would leave a trail of flames

Orb Effect Buff placer Do not stack with other Orbs



Solarium Shell (R)

During the day, Solarion is encased in a cocoon of light, increasing his attack speed and move speed.

Level 1 - Increases his attack speed by 10 % and Movespeed by 10% during the day time. Buff lasts for 6 seconds after day has passed. Gives a added 10% physical and magical damage reduction.

Level 2 - Increases his attack speed by 20 % and Movespeed by 15% during the day time. Buff lasts for 6 seconds after day has passed. Gives a added 15% physical and magical damage reduction.

Level 3 - Increases his attack speed by 30 % and Movespeed by 20% during the day time. Buff lasts for 6 seconds after day has passed. Gives a added 20% physical and magical damage reduction.

Level 4 - Increases his attack speed by 40 % and Movespeed by 25% during the day time. Buff lasts for 6 seconds after day has passed. Gives a added 25% physical and magical damage reduction.

Cooldown: N/A
Framework: Omniknight's repel except that it is white instead of yellow



Aurora Shower

The mystic light of the north have always been a natural wonder for the people of the planet. Never was it thought possible for them to be used as a weapon. Used as the final blow to finish of his enemies, this secret weapon of the cosmos paladin never fails to finish its target.

Level 1 - Summons three beams of light from the heavens and the swirl around him. Light beams deal 50 magical damage per second and lasts for 5 seconds. Each 2.5 seconds, the beam has a 25 % chance to stun the enemy. At the end of the spell. The spell dissipates and damages 250 damage in a 300 AoE of the cosmos paladin.

Level 2 - Summons three beams of light from the heavens and the swirl around him. Light beams deal 60 magical damage per second and lasts for 7.5 seconds. Each 2.5 seconds, the beam has a 25 % chance to stun the enemy. At the end of the spell. The spell dissipates and damages 300 damage in a 300 AoE of the cosmos paladin.

Level 3 - Summons three beams of light from the heavens and the swirl around him. Light beams deal 70 magical damage per second and lasts for 10 seconds. Each 2.5 seconds, the beam has a 25 % chance to stun the enemy. At the end of the spell. The spell dissipates and damages 350 damage in a 300 AoE of the cosmos paladin.

Scepter upgrade - Summons three beams of light from the heavens and the swirl around him. Light beams deal 80 magical damage per second and lasts for 10 seconds. Each 2.5 seconds, the beam has a 25 % chance to stun the enemy. At the end of the spell. The spell dissipates and damages 450 damage in a 300 AoE of the cosmos paladin.


Mana Cost: 170/180/200
Cooldown: 60/70/80
Framework: Solarion raises his hands and 3 lunar beams come down around him (does not deal damage) and then start circling him like Necrolyte's aura. When dissipated, the beams will burst and radiate out in a powedery and misty way.

Logic behind the idea

Okay. Now on towards the skill synergies for this hero.

The main idea of this hero is to chase the enemies one on one. To engange, turn on your ultimate and blink in and start whacking. If creeps are present, use the shadow chains to slow him even more before starting to hit the enemy. Even in a team battle, Solarion is very useful to finish off the fleeing enemies by chaining them and start hitting the enemy. Your ultimate is also useful for attacking the enemy when they are gathered in a group. So, in addition to the spell combo, you may want to add blink -> ulti -> chain -> Shiva -> whack or Ultimate -> lothars -> whack -> chain -> shiva -> whack

So, the suggested Item build for this hero would be

Boots of travel
Lothar's Edge/Kelen' Blink Dagger of Escape
Shiva's Guard
Assault Curiass
Vanguard (upgrade to heart?)
Vladimir's Offering

However, this hero lacks in power early game and wound only be lucky to assist in a first blood due to the low damage output. Able to start ganking and killing at level 6 when he gets his ultimate and his added move speed, attack speed and slow.

Changelog:

3rd November 2009: Finished Hero Idea
4th November 2009: Made Changes to the second skill, increasing the added sight range of the weapon. Added the move speed increase for the third skill. Increased ultimate duration from 5/5/5 to 5/7.5/10
5th November 2009: Edited the first skill such that the skill is dispelled when a unit affected by the chain is killed.
16th November 2009: Third skill is buffed such as that there is an increased move speed and attack speed and physical and magical damage reduction. First skill is also buffed, reducing the speed of the targeted instead of linking the move speed of the targeted. Added to discussion.
17th November 2009: Edited the first and second skill so that the skills are not that powerful as before and when combined.
16th November 2009: Lowered the power of the third skill and lowered DPS of ultimate and increased dispersion damage

1st skill, i dunt understand, so keep it
But,basically it slows max of 8 units with the slow rate is the slowest in the 8 units? Nice
2nd, fine, better add more sightrange (although i dunno the syn with the other)
3rd,seems too weak, 1% bns ms is laughable and useless,at least make it 10%...
Ult,make it last longer? 7.5 secs maybe...
Btw, why his attackrange is 150? Lucy's copy?

ChaoS_ThronE Actually, my hero's icon was supposed to be a black helm with a white colour as the visor. The reason for the 150 attack range is because it is easier to just place in do you want a attack range that goes 314.1592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105028974944 (value of pi to 60 digits, typed out on my own)? Not Lucifer's copy. For the sight range of the sword, there is not very much synergy except for looking for victims and having map control (in case they try to gank you). I was thinking for more damage per second for each hit but that did not seem that fun and original. Thus, I came up with this. Have taken into consideration for your ideas on how to improve and just look forward to my updates.

If we compare his 3rd skill to Hunter in the Night, Cosmos Paladin looks shitty in comparision to Night Stalker. 3rd needs buffing.

Also, chains are little UP too. Creeps speed isn't so low. Maybe add a little MS reduction (5/10/15/20%) for this spell thwt would stack with your blade?

Other things are good, I don't have anything against. Now, go and comment mine instead of making pleases to comment yours. Smile

Okay. Now to answer your questions.

Enhander, I do not really think that that damage is really high compared to dark seer (Int. 60-66 dmg) and others. Also, my hero has a lousy early game ability so I think I should get him a higher attack damage for better last hitting.

Uncle Genn. Thank you and I have taken into account your comments and am currently trying to find time to comment on your hero idea.

Also, are my skills too over powered now or are they underpowered?

1st lets say, you have a creep that you purged, and cast this on the hero, he will be slowed like shit?? nice. but you could bind a whole team yourself. making them powerless to your team
2nd you can slow your enemy up to 62.5% ? thats quite a lot. even some passive slow like veno doesnt get that high you know
3rd woohoo!! shitty balanar in the day! to balance it, decrease the speed a little and increase that resistance. it will make you godly during the day
4th now this is imba. you could deal 975 damage after normal resistance. its easy to stay besides your enemy for the whole 10 secs with your skills
pretty good overall. just need some tweaking
btw, would you mind to comment on mine?

This is what i think...
Lower the int gain
Becuz, he doesn't really need mana (2 passives)
The 1st skill, make it can just link to heroes only, bcuz it can be broken easily if linked with a low-hp creep
OR
The link wont be destroyed unless 3 (or more) enemies are killed
2nd, seems you need to lower it, but increase the cap
3rd, no need to change...
Ulti, looks like
Wc3 lightning shield...
The last damage should be increased...
Seems that's all

I think its quite fine.
Second this doesn't look too imba on itself. But with the third skill its imba.
your ulti is another source of imba. Does 90 dps and additional 250. Make it lesss. And also when it dissipates 600 units around him means 300 aoe right?

Okay, now to answer your questions, but before that, I would like to thank you all for taking time to comment on my hero idea.

Pomlaos, I have taken into consideration your points and have made the changes. [At first you wanted stronger ultimates for kevinmaster's eevee and now you say mine is overpowered.]

Chaos Throne, the reason for my logic behind the change is that you need to prevent the enemy from running away that easily by first casting this and then using your orb ability. Then you cast your ultimate. If your ultimate kills a creep, you still will be able to slow the enemy with your orb ability, thus not making the whole thing too overpowered.
